That butterfly was Sophie. I have goosebumps. When I ran a dog walking company years ago, one of my closest dogs, a lab named Candi (who lived with me a while in the end), passed. I was heartbroken. For the next couple weeks, I had butterflies flying next to me while I dog walked for hours every day. I thought maybe it was my shampoo or detergent, or something else suddenly attracting them. Until one day, I was sitting in my car between walks, and I just let go crying. We were so bonded. Then a butterfly circled up to my windshield, hovered a moment, then gracefully flew away. Right then, I knew it was Candi, as a butterfly, walking next to me after her passing.

It's heartbreaking as it use to be so good.
Its not customer service. its leadership. They are more concerned with letting buyers ripping sellers off, but not as much as they rip us off with all the seller fees.
@@Cbgrandtheftauto It’s particularly easy to get money back on damaged or stolen items. Call them & they’ll email a document for you to sign stating that you’re not lying and truly got ripped off. Im a FT ebay seller, but last night Amazon called me about a missed delivery to my house. When they asked if i had any other questions, i asked what the digital coupons were for when you agree to take a later shipping date to combine orders.... and the rep didn't even know what the hell i was talking about
Those "coupons" are basically used to buy digital media like movies on Prime and possibly ebooks. I usually use my credits to watch/rent movies on Prime Video.
Kevin, I've had TWO negative feedbacks in recent weeks that were unwarranted and I got eBay to remove both of them. The first was somebody who said the item didn't work and refused to return it but demanded a partial refund. I only said please submit a return request so they left negative feedback. It's funny because I was really appreciating your video statement not to give partial refunds and this was CLEARLY somebody just fishing to get the item for less. Otherwise why would you want a PARTIAL refund and refuse to return the thing if it didn't work? The second was a buyer who even wrote in the feedback that it was their own fault they did not read my description (nor the title, nor look at my photos), and never even contacted me but they felt screwed. eBay also removed that one at my request. I've been around and around years ago on other items where somebody DID NOT READ THE DESCRIPTION, and ever since then I've put in every description block in capital letters ALWAYS READ THE DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION CAREFULLY! And yet some people just don't, for whatever reason...
I hate that we as sellers get rated on shipping costs. I have no control over that. I put in the measurements and weight and ebay computes. I make all my packages as light and compact as safely possible. I shil out same day. What else can I do?
I blame amazon.. SOO many ppl use it. 24/7 service. Don't like a product, they can instantly print a return slip and out the door... But the real world doesn't work that way. The real ones don't have thousands of employees or automated systems that can answer your questions. If you buy second hand or from a reseller, always give grace... .
I sell mostly on Mercari and I give them an A for selling.. but an F for customer service on shipping overages. Recently I sent out 2- General Foam . plastic pink pumpkin pails… just like the orange one you have up there in the loft in this video. They weighed 3.45 ounces each and the FedEx charge the buyer paid was $8.99 for 4 lbs. Fed ex said box was 15 lbs!!! And charged me an additional $16. That makes total shipping $24.99…I was flabbergasted! I contacted Customer Service several times and they just kept saying they can’t do anything about it. I mean, this is ridiculous 15 pounds for something that weighs less than 2 pounds and I gave 2 pounds for the box and bubble wrap??? I told them there’s no possible way that two Plastic Halloween pale pumpkins weighed 15 pounds!!! Then they said if I could prove it, they may do something, but when the package is gone, the buyer already has it. How am I supposed to do that?
@@blueberties1657 I was just thinking of going through my listings and changing FedEx to UPS sure post. I have an extra large general foam light up outdoor pumpkin also and if I put an actual measurements, FedEx wants $45 to ship it and everyone else shipping. I had a thought the other day that native speakers of Spanish for example may have a subtle advantage for titling due to language structure difference. E.g., English speakers would say "brown bear" vs. "oso pardo", flipping the most significant element as the first word. I.e., think in Spanish and translate word for word to English. Just a thought . . . :P
Hi Kevin, I too enjoy your videos. I have to say in defensive customer service for eBay. I have some very good results with them. A customer wrote a negative comment about a shirt that I sold saying it was junk The person never contacted me to say they were unhappy or asked for a refund or reduction of price. I wrote to eBay explaining the situation and within 20 minutes that negative comment was gone to my surprise.
Wow Kevin I had an awkwardly similar message like that, funny how the same lingo was used. Mine was a videonow gadget and I even had pictures up that showed the item working.
Your comment about the pricing dynamic between you and your wife sounds familiar. My wife and I do the same thing on our site, especially with offers / counters. I always tell her she’s trying to “squeeze a dollar”, while she tells me I’m “ giving it away” 😀. It all works out, since we balance each other!
That's awesome that they didn't just remove the listing completely. I find taking and posting the pictures to be one of the tedious parts of the process. Also, if it's a clothing item, which requires measurements, getting all of that info again can be a pain.
Customer service ratings: eBay F. Facebook SUPER F. The process of trying to talk to an actual person is ridiculous. I'm so sick of getting directed to automated services.
I've had the same but, it was a lego toy. The buyer didnt read the description or specifics and when it arrived they expected a new item in the box ur was used. It was a used item and box wasnt included which showed in pictures and descriptions. She decided to be deceptive in her tactics to get a refund and keep the item by stating i was the one at fault and my description was misleading. It wasnt pictures matched the description. It felt like the twilight zone dealing with this buyer. She was so rude and it was her fault but, wanted me to pay for her mistake.
I only sell on eBay and I would give them a C-, up from an F because recently I was actually able to speak to a representative who actually helped me resolve a problem re a return I had approved where I bought the return label for the buyer and then issued a full refund before she printed the label. I learned that the buyer must print the label before the refund is issued because that label “goes away” at that point.
Mercari is a grade B for me they always get back quickly with me and usually decide in my favor. But EBay is a D, it’s hard to get to talk to a human and when you do they don’t seem to understand basic logic. Although they’ve been better lately. For example I’ve had items completely sealed with undamaged outer packaging that the buyer said were destroyed on the inside! And these weren’t fragile items, lol
eBay D, Poshmark B … I have really enjoyed Poshmark but will probably have to do more EBay now that Poshmark changed fees and are charging buyers. Sales have plummeted. Very sad time.
My experience with eBay customer service has been mixed as a seller. In my experience, they have helped me out with issues with buyers wanting refunds for reasons that were not my fault (i.e. items with tracking showing delivery that buyer claims not to have received). However, eBay has not been helpful in removing negative feedback, or reinstating listings that were supposedly “prohibited ( although there were multiple listings for the same item). Based on what sellers pay in fees, customer service should be more helpful.
Ebay - B+ Also shirts and jeans can be annoying to figure out the gender. (They should all just put it on the tag to be honest) button placement and shape are good places to start. Last resort is the pit to pit measurement and comparing it to usual sizes.
Promoted listings. I feel you should do a 2% experiment. Promote all of your listings at 2% for a week and report back. I think you will be surprised by the result.
I have no sympathy for sellers that go by tag sizes like Lg, Md etc. Those sizes are meaningless between manufacturers and even with different lines within the same manufacturer and as you said - time when made can also vary. Break out the ruler always.
That Amazon is woeful , I've lost count the amount of times I've rang them up , as a buyer {and not to complain about a seller} because I can't get on me account 😂 ! I wish they spoke English 🤦🏼♀️ Thanks Kevin and Reagan 💞💙🇬🇧

My high value items haven't moved in months despite constant price drops and discounts.
Daniel, I think that was a rude comment you made to Kevin .He does not rip-off yard sellers . Yard sellers are out there to sell the items ...If they didn't want to sell it for the price he's willing to pay, they wouldn't sell it . Your comment is ridiculous .@@DanielJacobs-t8q
Negative feedback happens. Unless it's a glaring error that the bots can see the seller gets to eat it if the buyer isn't reasonable. (and understands sizing) If you can, put in BOTH modern and vintage sizes because the item is both. Womens' sizes have changed radically in the last 60 years , but I didn't know menswear was just as bad. (a 1950s size 14 is...I think about an 8/10 now.) Vintage buyers know that; noobs...don't.
Your opening statement though when all these pa ts thar aren't jncos listed as jnco style how isn't that manipulation. Can't even find jncos because you have to scroll through all the fakes and other brands
Given enough time resellers are going to have to seek legal representation to get eBay to resolve negative feedback and possible suits against scam reviewers. Lawyers will attack anything if they believe it is worth it
Not so much an answer for your customer service question, but I'll say my piece anyway. Why does Facebook have a category for knives, separate from the kitchen knives category, yet you can't sell knives other than kitchen knives because they are quote "dangerous weapons"? Obviously I learned pretty quick and they just gave me a warning and took down my listing, but that is definitely a customer service issue. Though it is listed in their prohibited stuff under weapons, along with utility knives (guess we can't do any physical labor out here except preparing meals with knives 8 times the length). Well I guess it isn't entirely true, we can buy things that are totally safe for physical labor, such as chainsaws, on Facebook.

3. Allowing brands to abuse VeRO which in turn gets sellers banned for doing nothing wrong.
@@blueberties1657do they expire?
Hey Kevin what does a original Nintendo go for with 2 controllers and the power cord
Ebay A-
Etsy A+
Mercari C- (my fault, not much listed)
Poshmark F- (I don't have time or like to share)
the sharing/following thing is so stupid, especially since they have bots to do it.
Amazon=(C-), eBay=(B+). We're going to get WalMart going sometime soon. We'll see how that goes.
That's why I NEVER choose FedEx for shipping on Mercari. Too many horror stories about overages.
I had that happen with eBay. No response from eBay no response from USPS.
@@blueberties1657 I was just thinking of going through my listings and changing FedEx to UPS sure post. I have an extra large general foam light up outdoor pumpkin also and if I put an actual measurements, FedEx wants $45 to ship it and everyone else shipping. The same thing has like $18… bye bye Fed Ex!
@@michelecirrincione6848at least with USPS you can go in person to your local postmaster general. I had to, once
When eBay removes a listing for cause it seems like it depends on the cause as to whether they allow the seller access to the removed listing.

Not anymore
Poshmark - A (up until now was my main platform)
Mercari - never involved support
Depop - never involved support
Ebay - never involved support
Wow Kevin I had an awkwardly similar message like that, funny how the same lingo was used. Mine was a videonow gadget and I even had pictures up that showed the item working.
Nice silver spotted fritillary! Combining my love of entomology (two graduate degrees) and reselling in the same video!!
This guy has never been wrong about anything ever. It's always somebody else's fault, always.
3:12 the jacket thing is why i have leathers and jerseys that i have never listed
So, how did it turn out?
People can be rude. Not me😊
If a shirt is in the men's shirts category, do you really need to put the work "shirt" in it?
Ebay - B+
Also shirts and jeans can be annoying to figure out the gender. (They should all just put it on the tag to be honest) button placement and shape are good places to start. Last resort is the pit to pit measurement and comparing it to usual sizes.
Sleeve length is a huge indicator. I usually just tried it on. If the sleeves were long enough it was always menswear. (I'm a size XL 1X TALL female.)
They are all for the buyer not the seller mercari. They are more apt to give the money back to them without even justification
I have no problem with you putting (not a vhs) in the listing. Young new buyers genuinely might not understand the difference between beta and vhs.
Agree! Not sure why that's an issue! It's a legit description imo
🦋 Great video! And you and your wife with the price adjustments is probably helping your eBay algorithm. 🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My sales have been so so slow, I think it’s due to cost shipping and the fact many just do not have extra money to buy online
I never have problems with ebay customer support. It probably has to do with being a member for 20 years, but while they are friendly and attempt to help, their hands are tied by Ebay's automated system.
Me too, they are great! customer service reps are great ! not crying for you ,you got most of the sales on ebay join the rest of us non Uber people that don't rip off yard salers
@@DanielJacobs-t8q Pssshh.. I wish I had sales. My sales are down 30% and have been in the gutter since July. I dont do yard sales. People use ebay as a way to price their stuff and bargain with. I buy bulk so I only have a few dollars invested into each item. People want to spend less than $20 on their order with shipping. It's how I can make any kind of profit selling right now.
Love your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Good morning Kevin, my mom and family are from Virginia 😊😊
Negative feedback happens. Unless it's a glaring error that the bots can see the seller gets to eat it if the buyer isn't reasonable. (and understands sizing) If you can, put in BOTH modern and vintage sizes because the item is both. Womens' sizes have changed radically in the last 60 years , but I didn't know menswear was just as bad. (a 1950s size 14 is...I think about an 8/10 now.) Vintage buyers know that; noobs...don't.
Oh! we had those salt and pepper shakers when I was a kid!! 😮😊

Throwing Bubbas GF under the bus for an honest mistake is terrible. Intentionally making sure it’s known it WASNT YOU is pure ignorance.
Wow, do you know the whole story? I had not even noticed, how should he have said it? Regardless, there are better ways to make your opinion be known in a more positive light. Did you consider that his children may read through these comments? Do you think that what you said and how you said it is the best way to make your opinion be known so that what you say may actually motivate him to change or at least think about it? I hope your comment is not a reflection on your personality as a whole or even in part.
The context in which he said it seemed like it was so that people in the comments would not start lecturing Him about not listing it that way as if he didn't already know not to. He even mentioned he didn't say it to pick on her etc 🤷♀️
Poshmark : C, Ebay : B.
Ebay sticks to their guidelines and won't give a seller a break I HATE them after 25 years of liking them.........
Ebay gets a 2 out of 5 . Don’t much care for the automated assistant or the people in India . The only way to get to a person is if you still have the 800 number .
Amazon: F- minus!
I had a bad buyer like that. As soon as you issue a refund, ebay will remove the feedback

Mercari FFFFF. Removed all my listings. CS is a JOKE
Ebay is "The pot calling the kettle black". Ebay is very manipulating. Period.
EBAY Customer service grade "F". It's nearly impossible to talk to a human, been selling on ebay for 25 years, Top Rated Seller, doesn't matter. If another platform gives me access to a similar sized customer base, I'm out. Until then, I'll continue on ebay. In the end, it's all about access to the global customer base that matters the most to me.
Gave up online bullshit selling sites 29 plus years ago.
Thank u for my McDonald's 70s glass glass. Lol. Arrived perfect. Bless U in my man cave. The buying is kinda on ebay not dibdit. Sorry.
Search manipulation happens daily in the sports card realm. So this might be spilling over as a knee-jerk reaction by eBay.

The more UNIQUE your item is- the LESS HASSLE you have with Key Words and B.S. IT PAYS TO TRY TO GET MORE UNIQUE ITEMS and to THINK OUT SIDE OF THE BOX. P.S. I think eBay search manipulation policy is just as, if not more, brilliant than the final value fee on shipping from years ago. It wouldn’t be hard to imagine a room full a monkeys on computers coming up with these ideas over at eBay headquarters. I really hope they see the light soon and realize that if you build it they will come, and if you destroy it, they will leave…
