Thanks for sharing guys! Is this method effective with specks and Reds as well? Lastly, are you just doing a slow retrieve or jigging it off the bottom?
Great video guys I really enjoy watching you guys I have learned a lot from this videos you guys do and iam catching more fish from the techniques you guys show me I really appreciate you guys doing this videos thank's

@@MrWhoAreYouThisTime I grew up on a lake in central FL which had a lot of gators in it... this was 100% a crocodile. The everglades is the only place in the USA that has them in the wild, and we were very fortunate to see two of them that trip.
Is it just me or does captain mike seriously need his own show or UA-cam channel? He’s fun to watch on your channel and when Scott Martin went fishing with him. I need to come to islamorada and fish with him!
This might be obvious, but what is the difference between doing this with a live shrimp and a fresh dead shrimp? It's not like you are getting any "action" from the live shrimp while jigging.
The live shrimp's scent seems to get them fired up more than dead shrimp... but the dead shrimp can certainly catch a lot of fish too (video on that coming soon).
Snook in particular seem to bite the live shrimp or any live bait more often I’m not sure why this is but in 30 years of snook fishing I can count on one hand how many I have caught on dead bait most come on live baits or on artificial lures
@@Snookchaser007 Until this trip, I had never caught a snook on dead shrimp. But the 2nd day on this trip that we went to Flamingo, we caught a bunch of snook on frozen shrimp. Also at the same spot, we caught some redfish and even a tarpon which totally blew my mind (video coming soon)

We grew up on a lake in Central Florida so saw thousands of alligators, and the reptile we saw while making this video was definitely not an alligator. We were in Flamingo, FL which is the area in Florida where crocodiles live.
It's a croc. You can't 100% rely on head shape, the best way to be sure is to check the teeth. If the top teeth overlap the bottom, then it's an alligator, if the top and bottom teeth interlock like a zipper, then it's a croc. But in the video that is a croc.
The crockadile is looking for food to eat. You torturing the fish by hooking them over and over again and throw them back. You hooking live shrimp after ripping their bodies apart. You are the predator and monster. These are God's creatures and He will pay you back.

Cool video guys, I never have tried that method with shrimp but I surely will this fall/winter!!
That Croc. was a nice suprise😲
Can't wait to go fishing for some mangoes this Saturday, will try out this trick!
Cool Croc sighting👌🏻
Sure was a surprise!
That's a great way to combine bait with s jig head. Thanks fellas.
Our pleasure!
Hi, i am just wondering will the shrimp still be alived after hooking it up with this method? Thank you.
Good to know prawning seasons coming up.

Thanks for the tip! But what about the retrieval and the twitches? Should it be fast jigging? Or slow?

@@Saltstrong I would rather not know so thanks but no thanks!
@@Arabian_Gulf_Angler why such a tool-type comment? Do you feel better now?

Cool! I am booked with Capitan Mark next Thursday! Looking forward to it! Great tip
How awesome! You'll surely have a blast out there with Hollywood.
Didn't know crocs were in the Everglades.
Thanks for the riding tip. I'll definitely be using that
Thanks so much for making time to leave the nice comment Jason!
They are called alligators in Florida!!!
@@MrWhoAreYouThisTime
That's what I was thinking, but with all the other crazy stuff down there nowadays I thought maybe they moved in too
@@MrWhoAreYouThisTime theres saltwater crocks in fla.

Do you just do a slow retrieve along the bottom?
Yes, but you can catch fish just soaking it on the bottom too.
Great video 📸 deft agree he needs his own show 😎🪢
Thanks for watching!
Thanks guys for all the videos they help so much. Thanks agin tight lines
Thanks for the video tip, awesome. What's your rod reel/setup? Looks like a 3000 Stradic and Star Rod?
Thanks Marcos! This setup was a 3000 Shimano Stradic Ci4 paired with a G Loomis E6X 7'6" Heavy Power rod.
Can you do the same thing with DOA shrimp?
Unfortunately not.. they have too much drag in the water with the feet outcroppings.
Would this technique work say at the skyway pier or would a Carolina rig be a better option...mainly for mangrove snapper?
I bet that was a Gator and not a crocodile. Still a worthy predator just the same. That jig-shrimp setup looks like a winner. Cool video...
Thanks for checking it out!
You are wrong. It was a crocodile.
Awesome technique man thank you
Love from India..kerala..❣️
That snook got lucky
Can listen to Hollywood talk fishing tips all day!
That guy should have his own show sham wow
We'd stay far away from crocs here in Malaysia. Good tip on flat type jighead.
that water, 4-6 ft deep and youre fishing a 3/8 weighted jig? thanks in advance.
Good stuff
Will this work with Flounder with a light retrieve?
Is it just me or does captain mike seriously need his own show or UA-cam channel? He’s fun to watch on your channel and when Scott Martin went fishing with him. I need to come to islamorada and fish with him!
Soooo, you're not letting the shrimp sit... you're (slowly) jigging it, correct?
Do you think a boxing glove jig head will be better than a trout eyes since it will sit straight on the bottom?
Yes
Snook n Crock..... Pretty Koool....
Awesome tip!!!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video - big croc
Thanks Pablo!
Will the shrimp stay alive even without the tail half?
Thank you!❤️
Curious, is that salt/freshwater mix?
Great question! Make sure to ask this over in the Community (www.saltstrong.com/) where the coaches spend their time.
can this be used off of a pier?

Would this work if you can't use Live shrimp? In Washington State, we can't use live bait.
Yes. This works well with frozen shrimp too (video on that coming soon).
You don't use any weight on this rig? How long is your leeder? What knot do you use on the jig?
Do you remember what size jig you were using ?
Great question! Make sure to ask this over in the Community (www.saltstrong.com/) where the coaches spend their time.
how many grams your used jig head?

1/4 1/8 jigs?
Man in the brown suit have made a cameo, lol
Should I stop fishing bait and wait
Can you used head on dead shrimp
If there is still shrimp meat in it, then yes.
So there's nothing else on the line, just the jig head and shrimp?
Crocodile or Alligator?
That was a crocodile... much more narrow snout than a gator.
Why live shrimp not dead ones??
If that’s a shrimp I’d like to see what a prawn looks like.
I think living shrimps are not cheap...🤣
👍
Alligator, not a croc! nice tips on rigging thanks
Not trying to be rude but gators don’t do well in salt water and crocs have a narrow and pointer snout
Florida is the only place in the US with Crocodiles. It’s also the only place in the world where crocodiles and alligators live together
🎣🐟👏👏👏
How to rig a live crocodile on a hook. Catch big fish every time.
"Fresh, live shrimp", but doesn't move at all?

That's the one thing keeping me in Virginia waters. No gators! I think I'd soil my draws. Gator next to me in a kayak? Not going to happen......EVER!
What's his name? 😂
I think he was smiling at you, and wanted to have a swim with you boys! 😂😂
Sure looked like an alligator to me. Don't crocs have narrower snouts?

Why are you calling the alligator a crocodile lmao shows what you know about your area 🤔
Fyi,there are no crocodiles in the Everglades, only alligators!
Here's what FWC says: myfwc.com/wildlifehabitats/profiles/reptiles/american-crocodile/
I see crocs in the Everglades and in Coconut Grove in South Florida all the time...
