What I've learned from the prosecution:
    - It was snowing
    - It was Brian's birthday
    - There were doughnuts
What I've learned from the defence:
    - Red solo cups and random unsealed paper bags are adequate for collecting evidence
    - People don't need to be interviewed after a body is found (informal conversations will do!) and when they are interviewed it is months and months later
    - No one saw anything, no one talks about anything
    - Brian Snr got rid of his house, his dog, his phone and job all after the incident
    - No one knows who answered their phones at weird hours (Which appear to have been answered!)
    - No one is close to anyone (until they are)

The whole thing is so clicky entwined. Brian Sr. has been lead to believe he is king and nobody messes with him or his family. I hope this exposure helps people see how petty, arrogant, and dangerous these people are. I'm so glad Karen Read is exposing them. I hope she's exonerated.

Also, no clue about a preservation order on his phone, but totally aware that it was denied several times before that. Not sure on the date he 'upgraded' his phone, but absolutely positive it wasn't after the 22nd when that preservation order was signed.

Yes!! I said this too, the prosecutor feels like its main job is to shield the Albert family, not one shred of how Karen did it, why or how.
And the way this witnesses can’t remember one thing of anything that makes them look bad then then turn into perfect memory of things that makes them look good is very suspicious

I’m so angry on behalf of John’s family & friends… they have had so much tragedy in their lives, lost so many family members. And they are sitting, listening to this huge extended Canton family with cops, AG, and other LE-adjacent cousins & friends talk about John’s death as “the incident”... doing everything possible to distance themselves from finding out how a guy who was universally admired, ended up on the edge of death on their family property.
It’s Day 10 of an 8 week trial and so far we’ve only established that the investigation was an absolute joke, no-one treated it as a suspicious death, and there’s clearly something shady going on with the homeowner & the investigator. And that’s not even counting the FBI investigation hanging over the proceedings like a cloud.
Regardless of whether Karen was responsible, this is not how you get justice & I’m struggling to understand how this is worth the cost to the taxpayers, the cost to Karen, and most importantly the cost to the O’Keefe’s of having this trial right now.

Additionally, all the ladies in this group made an Angel's ladies, or something like that, that takes mom O'Keefe out to eat and other gatherings to support her It's all these lady witnesses. It's sad that the people, who potentially killed her son, are keeping her so close to keep Karen guilty in her mind.
And, if you watch Paul O'Keefe, he mean mugs Karen in such an intimidating way, it's scares me. Karen has to look straight forward, when her lawyers are at sidebar, while he stares her down all the time.

Most victim families do, and John was a cop too so, it would be extra hard for them to doubt what they're told, let alone be able to easily believe that other cops would have contributed to his death or covered it up.

I am absolutely no closer to thinking Karen Read is guilty than I was on day one. Ten days and 28 witnesses in... I've watched every bit of coverage with EDB. Came in knowing basically nothing, the name sounded familiar, but only because I think I've heard EDB mention it once or twice over the past year or two. Feels like I've gotten about three of my questions answered so far... and gained about a thousand more since trial started. It is so hard not to go look things up right now.

I came in with a bit of a bias against Karen Read because it’s usually the intimate partner. I still find her actions super sus. But the prosecution has not proven anything beyond a reasonable doubt other than the snow and that the table was a high top. Maybe there’s more coming. But just with how botched the crime scene investigation was, let alone how badly compromised the primary investigator was, I don’t know how you get to beyond a reasonable doubt, even before you get to Albert family questions.

We're ten days in and all I've heard is her hysterical remarks after a traumatic event, and something about bits of a tail light which nobody seems to have actually seen. We seem to be exploring literally everything else EXCEPT evidence against the defendant.

I feel at this point even if it was as the prosecution has claimed they couldn’t charge her. They absolutely destroyed the scene, let local politics run the investigation and up charge someone in a means to save face.

I am very conflicted about the phone issue. If the phones were so important, why wasn’t the data extracted/phones cloned in the week(s) after JO died? I understand they tried to get access to his phone and it was denied. If he got rid of the phone before he received an order (don’t they send them certified mail to prove date of delivery) didn’t he have every right to do so? I get why attorneys may be mad/frustrated, but hate the game not the player 🤷‍♀️. Very much like the defense parsing words and extracting portions of sentences to make something out of nothing but he gets SO aggressive when the witness plays the same games he does. Turnabout is fair play my man.

Now I really want to know whether the flag was still up when EMS/cops arrived to the scene where they found John in the snow and, if so, whether they normally left it up or whether they normally took it down or illuminated it at night, as per the flag code. I wouldn't necessarily expect just anyone to do this but I would expect a cop to know that this is what one is supposed to do since I learned about it in fire academy myself and we always took down our flag at the station too unless we were on a call at sundown and then we'd take it down when we got back.
My point is that anyone who would have gone out to take down the flag would have seen John's body had it been there at the time. Since they hadn't yet returned home by sunset, I would either expect them to go take it down when they did get home or to have not put it up in the first place due to the snow storm later on. If we still see the flag when the first responders arrive or whether we don't see it are both important things to establish. I wish I had thought about this earlier on when we had pictures of the scene. I might go look though.

And he will be returning to school at some point in the near future. I agree, I liked him and he seemed consistent and not being evasive. My spouse lived at home until we got married at 26. He worked and they had an agreement on rent, food/meals, and laundry. Helped him save money, he helped with chores around the house, Hung out with friends and younger sibling when home from college. I have no problem with it as long as son/daughter are contributing to caring for home in whatever arrangement, and really paying even some small rent just helps ensure they are working and having to be responsible with their finances and following the house rules.

Really shows that if you aren’t a member of the Albert family or a good friend (obviously Brian Higgins made the cut) or locally famous for stepping up and being a hero for your family, you just don’t exist. I live in a small town like that where if your roots don’t go back several generations, you aren’t accepted in the groups that run the town. It makes it hard to be civic minded and want to participate because you are never really accepted. Just tolerated 😢

The one thing about phones when they come up to needing replacing, is the battery longevity, they usually need charging more frequently. So Brian's excuse for replacing his phone (eg bad reception) and no mention of charging his phone after such a long day, is not consistent.
