If they're removing these features then they should reward players who took their time to max them out. It's unfair for them to add a feat that seemed like it was going to stay in the game and then remove them last minute.
My problem on top of the lack of direction is the lack of tone. Back before reforged and even before escas the hunts were actual hunts! you tracked the behemoth and even if you were way more powerful than it the presentation made it feel like an actual threat to humanity that you had to fight. Escas kinda lost that but are still great and the most fun gamemode currently. But now in hunting grounds you just repeatedly beat up supposedly rare and powerful creatures and it's just... meh. I would love if they expanded the hunting grounds islands with a lot more arenas, and they removed the behemoth markers from your compass so you actually had to find the behemoths based on their roars. The most important thing about a game that makes it enjoyable is how it feels to play, and right now dauntless doesn't really feel like anything.
If we dont have to grind few hundreds behemoth just for a little progressions, I wouldn't mind the game being the way you said. But right now having to grind reforges or behemoth parts are already tedious, and the fight itself is boring too. Even with modified behemoths, their movesets are the same, and artificially lengthened fight or OHKO aren't fun to me personally.
my problem is devs splits community i want to enjoy pubs but there are problems like doing solo 1-10 escalation is 10 x faster then matchmaking doing hunting grounds solo lets you force spawns specific boss in close proximity so you dont get annoying boss and dont need to run on other end of map (also i dont get why we get 1 supply box per hunt they should refresh if not on timer then at leas on event finish collect reword ) hunting ground maps should have more vents that let you travel to other side faster ( who enjoys running form boss to boss for 30 sec just to get there when boss just died so you need to run to other boss for 30 sec) would be cool if devs did like community binding events ( mark like 3 hunting grounds on different lvl as 2x exp in group matchmaking)
That actually is a great idea, just if they increased the xp gained from every hunted behemoth, 'cause it takes damnlong to reforge, and it's not hard at all, it just takes time, so it shouldn't matter that much in that aspect And expanding the HG and putting more interesting stuff in them would be really amazing, the thing is that consoles would explode 10 seconds after you landed in the island They should add stuff like maybe amps from escalations in HG, or something similar, maybe ones that are not so OP, but fun They could improve their game really so much if they wanted to, but they are focusing on balance and un-fun stuff, I mean, no matter what you have, a really good player will always be OP compared to regular ones, but well, it's their game
Also I am genuinely excited for Omnicells. I absolutely hate using the same discipline and predator builds. I want some kind of variety that isn't just worse than a lowlife build by default.
Positive...uhhh...their apologies are well written? That's a tough one. Love the game, but unfortunately put it down due to all this nonsense. Got all these updates had to offer pretty quick and then poof, it's repetitive for the sake of being repetitive. It doesn't feel good to play anymore if that makes sense. I'm always keeping an eye on your vids though for that light at the end of the tunnel. Just hasn't appeared yet
Hopefully they remove the primal and elder behemoths along the abilities, it might possible to defeat them without the powers from the perfect strike and the drone, but I will mostly fight behemoths without those modifiers since they are easier without them and i want to make reforges fast. Also it makes me feel i wasted my time triyng to max out powers that i didnt knew were seasonal.
Just keep the Factions. Especially The Drone. They can use it as a Pet System. Sell the cosmetics to change drone skins. Branch out the slayer's path of those two faction to reflect the new season. Just keep it.
Can we all agree that Primal and Elder behemoths are trash tier content / Behemoth? There's absolutely no motivation behind them, just behemoths with obnoxious shields and nerfed damage against them
They shouldn't remove the abilities because why have it and not use it than want it and not have it! This is very angering considering I love the Perfect Strike Plus it isn't really a Friend Forever if it's temporary
I was so hoping at some point they were going to make skins for the drones like flying pets bat bird or even a bug and for perfect strike make a skin like a pet wolf big car or small dragon that attacked when you activate the ability. I was sure that was the direction this was going in.🤦🏽♂️
As a positive, seeing the pre-patch note descriptions of the the Omnicells, the flat attack speed bonuses across all weapons, and the refunding of resources spent on cells and armor that will be changed dramatically makes me at least a bit more hopeful as it seems they do listen to *some* feedback.
so far only the beta had actual progression resets. Reforged put all your progres in different areas if you took the time to understand the system. Now you grinded in a game about grinding to grind faster, that drone and shockwave made you grind faster but they were broken. To me it just feels like they need to do every new feature twice because it usually sucks or lacks a lot the first time. Afterwards they learn and its hinestly improved a lot. Shock esca- blaze esca is a perfect example of this.
TL/DR: New player(joined after slayer path rework), loving the game. Loss of past/future sucks, what was the point of playing it(no rewards staying). Where the hell is PTT for voice? Loving your channel so far, looking forward to more and TY. - I played the beta but never the release until 6 weeks ago. So I'm coming in pretty late but I am having a lot of fun with this game. I love a lot of things about it especially it's monetization and the ability to get things I missed in the years I wasn't playing. VERY few games do this. I wish there was more depth to builds, the game seems to be a couple-trick-ponies atm and that's it. I really enjoyed the Infinite Radiance season(it was my first) and I am disappointed the work I did during it will be for nothing. If there was some lasting achievement or skins or abilities from all the work I had done it would feel worth it maybe. But as it is, I have to say I am less interested in trying seasonal content in the future if it's just going to pass by with nothing that can be earned which remains. As for the future, the first weapon I picked up in game was the war pike which had literally just been reworked and I loved it. Recently I have been playing repeaters and feel they are weak(but still fun) compared to other weapons but I do look forward to the rework coming eventually. I still have high hopes for this game and am thoroughly enjoying it yet don't feel overwhelmed with all the content/goals I see before me. PTT for voice would be a QoL improvement since it was asked for 2 yrs ago. Glad I found your channel, subbed and look forward to learning more from you.
So if the Elder / Primals are removed, how do we summon the Chronovore or is that gone too? If it's gone to, why did they even make it and not just another Radiant season? What happened to the portals as they were radiant season as well? This is confusing.
*Dauntless Devs release Seasonal abilities that very clearly were meant to only stick around during the Season, both based on implimentation AND the wording of the devs.* Dauntless Devs: These abilities are getting removed next Season. Dauntless Community: Surprised pikachu face meme. Seriously... How are people surprised or mad at this? These abilities did nothing interesting, fun or new, and just added more damage with next to zero interaction (woo, dodging gives you a free hammer blast every so often/a turret literally just exists and shits out damage, soo fun and creative!), and the specific buffs against fighting the Elder/Primal Behemoths were literally COMPLAINED ABOUT when they launched because they just trivialised the content... And now people are suddenly mad?? Seriously, I've never seen a community bitch THIS hard about genuinely positive changes to a game. Literally everything we're getting in 1.7 is INCREDIBLY healthy for the state of the game, and yet people are genuinely throwing hissy fits over it... Fucking yiikes.
LMAO you haven't seen League of Legends Community then. There's plenty of people who bitch there but understand this. People take their own time to play these games - time is a valuable thing - once invested - it cannot ever be refunded nor compensated for. Pick your side, but don't be a PRICK about it.
@@OutOfWards Not being a prick at all though? The entire point of these abilities and the progression associated with them was to have something to grind for during the Season, and to have some fun new "toys" to play with for a limited period - The vast majority of the "upgrades" were irrelevant buffs that made killing Primals and Elders (fights that were already fairly "easy" - Primals really only being artificially inflated in difficulty) even easier, and the rest of the buffs simply just made the "do more damage" abilities do more damage/be better. The fact people are complaining about two temporary abilities leaving the game, despite the devs being fairly clear (both in wording and design choices) that these abilities would be leaving at the end of the Season, is stupid. As for them "repesecting the time investment" - Players invested the time into getting these abilities maxed in order to have more fun with them; they've had an entire 3 months to enjoy that - THAT is their reward for their time investment; added enjoyment. If you DIDN'T enjoy it (the upgrades literally do nothing to change the core base content, so you can clearly understand if you enjoy it or not straight away), then why waste time in upgrading the stuff to begin with? Not to mention, the devs are considering bringing these abilities back into the game in a way that is FAR healthier (because having a literally bot that just gives you insane passive damage, free +6 Cascade AND Molten with ZERO requirements is terrible for the health of the game).
I can't give a solely positive comment. I like what I am hearing about Omni-cells and I am quite interested in trying them out. However, as of right now, I don't feel any motivation to work on any new "seasonal" ability trees since it's just useless grinding. You literally work on something that will be completely erased, leaving you with a lot of work . . . for nothing.
Something that is positive: We're getting refunds on steel marks for discipline cells and aether hearts on power surged gear with a changing cell. They didn't have to refund anything, but I'm glad they are. If you have iceborne or discipline, you automatically have the omnicells aswell. I hope the devs can find the direction they want to go with things.
Step 1, add radiant aether for the chrono event and talent tree at Ramsgate. Step 2, merge progression of the slayer path into the talent tree and remove the paths or... Make the paths available for an annual event like the Easter and Halloween stuff
I guess one of the main stays that have kept me coming back to this game is the player customization with all the different transmogs, i love the armor in this game, sure not all are snazzy looking, and a good few have a very "samey" look to em, but the variety is there and will only get better so long as they dont just use generic concepts over and over like a military/militant theme
I've returned to playing dauntless after i've stopped for a long time, basically since the flame escallation. The game overall is soooo much better now. Yes, it took a heck of a long time since the last time i played, but it eventually became better. So that's my positive thing about Dauntless. Those hunting grounds where you can fight with others for as long as you like is a very cool thing, the fights feel better being slightly shorter, it feels more community based, etc. Hopefully in like 1-2 years, builds for Dauntless will also be diverse and fun and maybe cruel riftstrike will finally be fixed.
i honestly like what they are doing with hunting grounds, i just hope that the next map includes larger areas with much higher number of small enemies and new behemoths obviously, i had a dream where i was fighting in a large arena filled with a lot of trash mobs playing coop with friends then after they got beaten a large behemtoh came into play jumping out of the sky to the center of the arena.
Honestly, this should all still exist, but be limited to Paradox Breaks only (Primal/Elders & Abilities/Trees) (Maybe Abilities in Escas too) and that'd make just about everyone happy I think.
It would've been cool if there was one pact at a time, it got replaced every couple months and your progress didn't reset so you didn't have to farm it up again. This is just lame though, without Faction: Future, Elder behemoths are genuinely less fun to fight than solo dauntless trial bro.
Imagine Dauntless in early 2020 with all 7 elemental escalations (including neutral, another behemoth set, why not?) and with all the fun special buffs and more content of equal or higher fun quality... man what a freaking jewel That'd really be my wettest dream in life But no, I'm just going to resign and take my 2,000 hours of playing with me and go cry for 2 months
Eh, no thanks - I'd rather deal with the mild inconvience of having to farm a couple more gear pieces if it means having a system that is far easier to balance and farm healthier for the long term of the game. This isn't like Reforge was; all these changes are directly beneficial to the health of the game.
@@luisambriz3028 Honestly? Yeah - There's a distinct gameplay loop now, with a clear sense of progression that isn't immediately over within 5-10 hours of playtime. Sure, it has it's problems but a lot of the larger issues have been addressed, and can easily be dealt with moving forward (i.e. via the new Portals system in the works allowing for target farming, etc). Reforge wasn't perfect, and I totally get why it was disliked but... This update in 1.7 isn't like Reforge. There isn't a single long term negative here. - Omni-cells create build diversity while removing broken cell combos that make balancing a nightmare. - Removing easy access to %AS while buffing the base AS helps combat power creep. - Making high-tier Behemoths harder to stagger promotes a more skill-focused gameplay loop, without hurting casual players. - Removing broken Seasonal abilities that added nothing but extra damage creep (while ALSO acknowledging players enjoyment and potentially bringing them back through the Omni-cell system to make them more engaging and balanced) is a good thing. All people are complaining about here is small, short term non-issues because "change is bad".
The Game would be at a much greater Point of their kept it more simple and Went with their already Standing Set Up of the Beta , Just Focus on behemoths and everybody would have Been Happy . But na new stupid Prestige system and bullshit Battle effect that have nothing to do with the behemoths it is
@@ToxicBearStudios I get your point But honestly I can't agree on them changing their game that much when they already had a working formula, and there weren't nerfings like now, if everyone can have the exact same tools then everyone cam be balanced, speaking of the game back then, the sword and pike wouldn't be balanced because their damage was really low, but I said imagine "old" Dauntless with the fun specials and that, I should have said pike and sword reworks too, I meant it but forgot to say it I just would nerf Ardent Cyclone damage and Pike's damage a little, not the attack speed, it was fun If they wanted they could keep the game fun while it being balanced Also, the game had it's own stuff, now they are making some weird changes that people like me are not liking so much, because they were fun If they kill something that is meta, the 2nd meta place will become first amd everyone will spam it, because it just makes sense, and then the devs are just going to want to nerf it Dauntless is so easy compared to other games, what makes it difficult is the bad mechanics and bugs, nothing else Dauntless as we knew it had it's gameplay formula and at least a real lot of people liked it Imagine that, then nerfing a lot of stuff just because the devs wanted it that way, well that's what is happening right now Anyway, you have your opinion, and I see a lot of people agree with you, same with me My only point is that Dauntless was much more fun back then, that's all
Does any one think this is. A good idea so you have too fight 2 behemoths during Cronovore fight each time u kill one a smaller sort of aether spark thing from escalation activates and you can pick 2 amps these will be the seasonal abilities ect not the things that protect u against primal and elders inside the crono fight because they don't spawn in it and when fighting the time distortion event you get 4 amps in total to fight the behemoth for example future drop cascade cells drop molten cores reduce attack amount to activate ect ect
It should be similar to this due to the difficulty of Cronovore as it can be a absolute pain with its attacks and low levels trying to fight with you getting one shot and the only useful thing out of that was the radiant drone they always had helping out but they mostly got the danger meter up (not trying to offend anyone trying to make a point) and it would make the Cronovore fight feel like a mini escalation
Oof. I'm a new player (2 weeksish). This new update seems like a major change to how I've learned how to play so far. On the one hand, if this is the way it's going to be, better to have it happen early. On the other hand, going to make it feel like I'm immediately having to relearn what I've learned, which feels like I've been wasting my time.
tbh i have love hate relationship whit those 2 factions i like that they open some cool ways to play like boop on pistol or attack speed outside of cell for hammer/axe but on other hand i hate that fights in team now looks like pinata of orbs or that same attack counts as fraction stack but didnt count as twin sun dodge 100% crit or that you need to swap faction every time you change loadout (there where also bugs like orb counting as enemy projectile so you could nuke boss for no reason) not to mention grinding unlocks for those 2 faction takes more time then max lvl escalation unlock i dotn mind if they remove it form the game but would be cool if players that grinded unlocks got something for it and if they want to do seasonal skill in future they should be maxed in less then 150+ random spawn boss kills
Consumers of a game should have to constantly tell the developers how to communicate properly, why do we have to tell them to focus on quality rather than quantity? Why do we have to tell them to communicate with us properly? How many times are they going to apologise? I love this game, I really do but these developers are making it so hard to enjoy this game at the moment.
I want to have access to trials gear, without having to touch trials. Even if its a slug race to get it. Dont care for how trials is set up currently. Artificial difficulty, with any timer makes me feel rushed rather than enjoying myself. Probably weird opinion, but I come from monster hunter use to having time to kill my beasts.
normal trials should be pretty easy, just put on sharpned and kok and you can probably do the break parts and stagger objectives, then just kill the behometh to get all 3 steel marks, so the timer won't even matter, or just one of the above, and not die then kill it and get all 3 steelmarks, the only time you have to worry about the timer is if you're tryna get all 3 golden marks which is only for cosmetics
Positive comment...hmmm...oh I got it. Cosmetics look great! Shock, Blaze, Terra, and Umbral escalations are fun. Training grounds is nice to know base dps without the situational cells (talking about those such as Overpowered, Aetherhunter, Ragehunter, etc.). Love that you can go from hunting grounds to hunting grounds without needing to go back to Ramsgate unless you want to change your gear. I've got other positive things to say, but I don't wanna make this comment incredibly long.
And now, for the negatives. As a player who has played in both PC and console, I can confidently say that there is an issue with glowing golden-yellow diamond notification thing that tells me that something needs to be checked when there is clearly nothing to be checked. This applies to the hunt pass, journal, and bounties. In console (PS4), there are times when random objects flicker in Ramsgate. And these can be boulders, trees, etc. Don't know what that's about. And by these flickering is that they can randomly appear wherever and just randomly flicker. These objects don't have any collision or whatever since they're not really there. The hunting grounds are tedious to go through even though you can go from one to the other seamlessly if you don't die too much and have to waste a supply drop, which for some reason don't refresh and/or are just not infinite. Like, bruh. The change to reforge has made getting new pieces of armor and new weapons a joke, since once you get the materials you just craft them and after getting some more, power surge. And that's it. If your skill lvl with that weapon was at the max, then you automatically have the max lvl for that weapon you JUST crafted and power surged. Again, what? Before, slayers had to hunt the behemoth whose parts were needed to upgrade the weapon 10 times. That felt way more rewarding. (And it sounds more grindy, but trust me when I tell you it's not bc of how the system worked before Reforged.) The lantern power creep was, honestly, completely fine imo. In any case, it would've been better if they just made it 1/4th as effective and for escalations 1/2 has effective so as to address that. I say this bc hunting with so much power and defense was hella fun. Well, at least for me. And not only was it fun, it showed prestige/experience/dedication. Those who had played the game for a long time and gotten max levels had amazing prowess that could then be displayed in the trials ranking. This is no longer the case thanks to them normalizing the power and defense for trials and not only that, but making the behemoths there tougher. Like...HUH?! So, you're telling me, a random kid that grinds the game for about a week can get top in trials just from getting lucky with cells in the breaker or whatever it's called to then go to the middleman to get them upgraded and then lucky with crits and using a newly crafted and power surged (bc I am almost certain it won't take more than grinding for a week to reach the final node) weapon?! I've played for years and I had to be lucky with a behemoth that appeared in trials just so I could get my golden crown. I had to put effort to level up the required best weapon at the time and also armor so that I would be able to get that time. And the power I had was not only from leveling up my weapon and armor, but also from the lantern. Before reforged, getting top in trials felt like more of an achievement bc it showed skill not just with a weapon of choice (most likely the meta weapon for the behemoth of the week), but with the game as a whole. You would not be able to get top if you not only maxed the required weapon and armor, but also the lantern levels from the escalations. But enough about that. The Slayer's path is a pain in the ass to unlock every single one of the nodes. I was max slayer level and max weapon level for every weapon and was focusing on finishing the masteries left for the behemoths and weapons. And now? Now the masteries are practically there just to be there. I don't have to do them or anything bc of the bounties which offer the weapon experience, exploration or combat merits, and Hunt Pass XP. Don't need no mastery whatever to obtain only combat merits which I literally don't need since I LITERALLY only need and I mean ONLY need exploration merits for pretty much everything after getting everything I had done previous reforged get converted and gotten the combat and exploration merits that I used to unlock basically everything I already had previously by leveling up my slayer level. .-. Now I'm only playing bc of the daily and weekly challenges and to also get the reforge nodes. Oh, there's also the Urska armor (which I'll most likely never craft) and also the pain in the ass Chronovore armor and weapon that, bc it's not considered a keystone behemoth in it's own Radesca (Radiant Escalation), I also more than likely will only craft my main weapon from the behemoth. No armor from both of the most recent behemoth and it's because the fresca is a pain and insanely rushed bc of the frostbite mechanic and the other bc one relies on the skill lvl one has for the weapon unlike the power boost one gets in an escalation. I literally am only using Skarn-bonded Agarus weapons now and nothing else, except when necessary for trials and not even that bc having the extra damage and crit chance from the shields that also prevent me from unaliving is great. Like actually best weapons in the game now. Anyway, I am pretty sure there are way more things that aren't wrong in the game now and it's only bc they changed how the game works after reforged. 😔
@@luislebronaponte2737 its incredible how big the negatives are outweighing the positives here, i guess if they built one game formula and worked around it as different extensions of the same basic one it would work, but they kept constantly changing to the point this game has no identity or sense of direction, i believe that game developers are a bunch of old people who had lost touch with what the new generation of gamers wants to see, or they simply dont care about their game anymore and want to destroy it but they cant because that will obligate them to a major currency loss, and building games from scratch are not easy task, I had seen this already with other companies such as, DE, Blizzard, and EA aka the devil of gaming industry.
@@MyNameisRevenant I'm glad someone actually went and saw what I wrote. And yes, I it's indeed incredible. Recently, Josh Strife Hayes made a video covering Warframe and I believe that what has happened with that game is slowly, but surely, starting to happen with this one. Not in such a drastic way, but it certainly is. The slayer's path and quest line certainly keeps the progress in a more perceptive and easier to understand, linear fashion, but we can't deny that a lot and I mean A LOT of mechanics have been changed/added since the beginning of Dauntless. I was able to notice this more predominantly with a friend of mine who hadn't played the game in months and he and I played the game a few days ago and wow how it has changed. Basically, all of his builds were now useless and the added mechanics was making the game confusing to him. (Keep in mind this is a player who has already gotten the golden crown from trials.) He was also slightly annoyed to the trials being now accessible to literally anyone (even a weapon skill level 1 player) because of the way it is now. He also told me about the chronovore not having its own escalation, but I am not 100% sure if that was added before he stopped playing for months or beforehand. Point still stands. We all wanted a radiant escalation. .-.
@@luislebronaponte2737 there are so many things as we players want, basically they should start by listening to their player base a little bit, asking for suggestions and what they want to see, and make them doable from a marketing standpoint, secondly fix the problems that makes the battle system so infuriating to get through, im talking about hit boxes here, character progression should be branching rather than erasing the already existing formula all together, as i said too many things they could do to save themselves and their game, the more I see Phoenix the more the remind me of DE and warframe
@@MyNameisRevenant Facts. Even when they have the feedback and bug report system in the game, I am surprised when a feature they 'think' players will like actually doesn't end up being that good. Indeed what a 'surprise'. Some hitboxes are just bad. Period. I'll get hit by Riftstalker's enraged beyblade while interrupting it. Like...huh? And there's also the problem of barely being able to hit kharaback with some weapons because it is slightly a bit too high up in the air. Rezakiri takes that to a whole other level, but it's actually ok bc you can hit the tail and then the body when it does the slams. The character progression was great before. It helped you progress through the game as you unlocked new gear, new pursuits, and new patrols, which in turn gave you new gear, pursuits, etc. It was great and helped you progress smoothly from point 0 to point 50% (I say because after finishing the quest against Shrowd...was that the last quest before? Not sure. Point is that after that, you had the masteries to complete, if you wanted to. There were the levels for every weapon including the slayer mastery level. All of which could be increased by doing the sort of 'challenges'. These are for the behemoths, the weapons (in general) and then each individual weapon (as in, for example, the drask chain blades or rezakiri hammer) ) Anywayyyyyy. After that, then there was trials and then the escalations, which were challenging enough until the lantern power creep, which they then addressed. Yup. After reforged, it seems this game has gone downhill more than the small uphills it has had. 😔
I think it’s easy to take for granted the fact that the developers are trying new things to make the game more fun and interesting - as opposed to profitable. I’ve been gaming a long time and for all the complaints it’s certainly a great thing that they keep trying new things. I honestly would have also removed that if I was them. Although rewarding players for their hard work would have been better, I don’t disagree with the choice.
elder behemoth with shields againts the future faction make that fight so trivial that after i maxed the faction i was asking my self why did they do that thats just way too OP and here we go they going to remove it after few months how unexpected
as a casual rn. feels very bad as a hammer only player (i dont care about other weapons at all) it feels very bad when you swing and within that swing the behemoth moving back and you 100% hit the shield and instantly lose half hp. if that says without any reduce against the damage from those shields i might quit again casue these shields already feel way too powerfull on faster enemys like the long tailed fly enemy that i avoid at all costs because of that.
I personally am fine with them removing the new paths and working fully on the omni-cell system however what I'm not ok with is how they keep abandoning all the cool stuff to try and chase down other things leaving a trail of constant un-finished debris, I want more exotics to add unique playstyle systems to the weapons as opposed to possible reworks to every weapon 30 times over, I want more exotic armors that cater to each players playstyle so they don't just have to look at armor pieces for just the raw fact of built in cells and cell slots but also what the pieces actually offer, the game has so much potential and it kills me inside that they've been wasting it for so long
Sucks we're losing friend forever (mostly because faster weapons could have permanent molten uptime and weaker cascade buffs for free) perfect strike was interesting but isn't something one can properly build around with the changes to primal having only 1 suppressor. While good friend forever builds could rip elders to pieces thanks to the redirection skills on the tree letting wide range hits hit even harder than expected (recalls fondly using pangar UE bombs to instant kill a lot of elders) friend forever was just had too much going for it over perfect strike even if only fast weapons could make full use of the drone with any reliability
When it comes to the continuous bugs in the game, I'm kind of more lenient with the handling of them. The game is a "fairly" new game going on it's, what, third year? I mean, I get the frustration. I have them almost all the time it happens and reporting them doesn't seem to do anything. But.. It's a free game. The only reason I'm so lenient. If I paid close to 70 bucks for a game with these issues, I'll be demanding money back because it's unexcusable. I feel if you game is open enough to be bought, minimum to no bugs should be in the game.
How to make a good monster hunting game? ADD MORE MONSTERS!!! Stop reinventing the wheel and just add more and more monsters. Then when you have a massive roster create a tier above the monsters you have that bring all the monsters into the new tier with new moves and weapons and armor at this level provide more than the previous tier (aka multiple cell slots and/or more perk economy. Make each one have a meta cell natural ability then a niche cell attached to the armor so dead cells start to be seen in the meta because they are on the gear naturally anyway. )
Yeah lol I still play but I almost exclusively chill in solo escalations when leveling and group esca with friends when they get on. Escalations are the only mode I enjoy. Hunting grounds is so dull and repetitive. You just kill until you run out of supplies or burn out. No sense of completion makes the whole affair not fun. Only time I have fun is when my guild gets 6 of us on a hunting ground and we just slay out chatting in discord lol
I mean I already kinda knew whats going on there. We spent ton of money and time for this game and in a sec they will change everything. its kinda annoying.
Devs are so out of touch with their own game and the community mainly. At this point i just think they want to kill their own game. I think i'll say goodbye to dauntless at least until things get better.
The Devs shot a huge hole into the community, their lack of integrity, the countless apologies, and Rapid changes all of a sudden.... They should fix the damn bugs first before changing anything else... It's embarrassing enough. The removal of the Factions past/future is a stupid move, we have spent so many hours(months of time) to unlock those parts of the pathway. You(the devs) have really wasted the times of its small/tiny community and will eventually just piss everyone off and leave and go somewhere else. Then to hear about huge changes coming has discouraged me from wanting to even attempt to help grow the community as a streamer. It's unsatisfactory to see a development team so impaired on what they are going to do with the game, and which direction it's going to go in. Sounds like the Senior/Lead Developer should be REPLACED with someone that actually has a focused plan.
With this logic, maybe if we stop complaining about PhoenixLab and give them some love and support, they will be removed and we will have new Dauntless dev 🤔
I dont think thatll work either lol. With the amount of boot lickers on the sub reddit and discord it just makes things worse. At this point i think a mass exodus of paying players is the only thing that will catch their attention.
:/ wow every type of community is fighting the dev of the game like FIRST WAS FNAF AND SCOTT CAWTHON (still love this man) AND NOW IS THIS WITH THE FRACTION BS Cough Cough Pardon my language😅
don't forget the questionable game balancing like nerfing cells and potions in the ground, or removing one of the only two things that makes chainblades viable, or nerfing ardent cyclone twice over, or any other questionable call made within the last half year.
In response to: "It's pretty hard to be positive about this state of Dauntless reddit if I'm being honest. Leave a positive comment about something else plz." My Mom had her 2nd hip replacement surgery at the beginning of March this year. This morning, the surgeon overseer informed her that she is free to use a cane if she so chooses, but it isn't necessary as her titanium upgrade incurred zero push back from her body and she was green lighted to freedom from visits, save a yearly or she believes a visit would be to her benefit. My Mom has limped since retiring 11 years ago to care for her Mom. She suffered a Bell's Palsy, but fully recovered. She underwent an adrenalectomy, and she bounced back. ...and she is not limping anymore as she underwent two surgeries and smoked 'em. She is genuinely happy. Mom's 70.
@@OutOfWards Hmm. I shouldn't need to explain. TheMrTrails video description reads: "It's pretty hard to be positive about this state of Dauntless reddit if I'm being honest. Leave a positive comment about something else plz."
you mentioned that people invested time and effort to upgrade the future and past path. Well it's not the 1st game that devs just don't care about this invenstement. Example is Archaege when a player can invenst a year to build and get several stuff that he/she wants and then BOOM, server merge, all gone bye bye!
I've returned to this game after a few years and I have to say, I'm not happy with it, the primal behemoths I guess r kinda cool, it adds a bit of challenge but the elder behemoths are just stupid, I hate them. Also the grind to get aether hearts just to upgrade 1 piece of gear is just too much. I'd much rather grind for monster parts to upgrade gear than either get 100 aether shards and reset all my power to lvl 1 for 1 heart or 200 shards for 1 heart, I just don't like we're this game is now.
I honestly cant keep playing the game. They keep changing everything, or removing things that ive worked on. Hunting grounds are a joke. What happened to behemoths being tanky actual threats, and not pushover punching bags made from ziploc....? Esca's where fun as hell, pity those are done huh? I dont count heroics Idk...
you do realise they want to change this stunlock meta with the omnicells. But either way its an mmo rpg, at a certain point you just delete most things
I truly surprised me how much they mange to ruin this game with every new patch, I'm sorry for being so negative I truly am, I'm sure it's not easy to read but it feels every new update it systematically designed to be less and less enjoyable for the players. Not to mention the level of communication the dev team has with it's player base is next to none even these updates feel like they come out of the blue all their twitter ever post about it skin competitions and hunt passes which is fair enough it's mostly for promotion I get that, but the in game news letters are too few and too far between and relying on reddit and discord for your main newsletters just seems ineffective. Reforged changed the entire game out of the blue for any players who where not dedicated to keeping up outside of the game with no real in game warning. as for design elements the "new" behemoths feel like they are glorified trial mods the shield's and pillars are completely out of place in standard hunts even bordering on invasive. They made progression for any new players irritating with an absurd difficulty curve at levels 10+ while not being anything truly new or interesting to work with for any veterans/hardcore fans managing to make an unfulfilling experience for players all across the board the only redeeming quality to these introductions was the new slayer trees, (which in all fairness i thought where fun and good additions that could help players spice up the same old dull builds), but now that they're being removed it looks like we're being left with nothing to take its place. And I truly only get more irritated with each new apology post, I respect and admire when people admit their wrong it's not easy and it takes alot of humilty espcially as a game company to realize when you've made a mistake, so props for them for being able to admit that. But I also expect people to improve when they say they made a mistake and try to learn and do better in the future and that just isn't what's happening right now. I hope this doesn't come off as mean spirited as it feels reading it back i just wanna air out my thoughts on this.
I want to be positive, but I can't. Not about this. All that time just wasted. I want a developer who respects my time. Reforged already didn't - although it wasn't this bad - we got some of our stuff translated into new things like aetherhearts and sparks. This though, this is just a giant middle finger with no communication, I'm sorry (if they can get away with just apologizing, then so can I). If they remove these trees July 8th, I think I am done with this game as my main and am going to have to just move to something else like FF14. I think a lot of others will too. I have played this game practically since Day 1, but I am a customer, and I don't have to take this and neither does anyone else. This is straight up absurd on the part of Phoenix Labs. I am sad I will be wasting the remaining ~160 days of Slayers club I already bought that will basically just rot, but I will never come back to this game if this is the way they are going to treat loyal customers. This isn't ok.
stop playing it .... they've done this to many times ... rather than focus on the few good thing they've got and making them better or expanding , like exotic armor ... they are consistently making changes to things nobody asked for ... do the math, how many hours was put into future factions slayers paths ? gone!!! .. yet elder and primal behemoths kept? ..
i know the elders and primals are a pain, but if they manage to keep them in the game forever, at least they should give us means to deter their shields or attacks through something, they are extremely difficulty to solo for the wrong reason already.
@@MyNameisRevenant they get destroyed after enough hits,(made easier by the skill trees they removed) but I think it should just reduce damage taken from behemoths or be a destructive object that you either try to move around or take your time to kill
So basically the game is dead because their developers either dont know what they are doing or simply dont care about their playerbase,.... understandable, thats all i needed to hear.
since they gave behemoth hovering shield with spikes i stop played and im playing for many years wtf childplay game destroying game atleast give behemoth a real aether shield make them stronger more health longer fights no instead they make all noobs die die die and no one dodge anymore either they just run and fight
If they're removing these features then they should reward players who took their time to max them out. It's unfair for them to add a feat that seemed like it was going to stay in the game and then remove them last minute.
Damn glad I never got around to finishing em that would have pissed me off
it helped you farm behemoths faster in general, and the chronovore as well. You lost nothing you grinded in a game about grinding, to grind faster.
If Hellion is deep-fried Pangar then Lobster is deep-fried Trevor.
Lets be honest, since reforged they dont have a straight path ahead of em anymore
Yep might as well just keep this grind/reset/grind model and start pumping out behemoths.
@@thekrakenguy6962 1000%
Lmao Mr.Trails evolved into a Hellion.
Heroic Scorchstone?
Yes, but extra spicy.
HAHA XD
Even with modified behemoths, their movesets are the same, and artificially lengthened fight or OHKO aren't fun to me personally.
my problem is devs splits community i want to enjoy pubs but there are problems like doing solo 1-10 escalation is 10 x faster then matchmaking doing hunting grounds solo lets you force spawns specific boss in close proximity so you dont get annoying boss and dont need to run on other end of map (also i dont get why we get 1 supply box per hunt they should refresh if not on timer then at leas on event finish collect reword )
hunting ground maps should have more vents that let you travel to other side faster ( who enjoys running form boss to boss for 30 sec just to get there when boss just died so you need to run to other boss for 30 sec)
would be cool if devs did like community binding events ( mark like 3 hunting grounds on different lvl as 2x exp in group matchmaking)
@@CookedMeat yes of course, this change would require tuning the progression. I think most of the current behemoths are good, we just need more.
Good comment! Can't agree about removing markers tho, think about deaf people.
That actually is a great idea, just if they increased the xp gained from every hunted behemoth, 'cause it takes damnlong to reforge, and it's not hard at all, it just takes time, so it shouldn't matter that much in that aspect
And expanding the HG and putting more interesting stuff in them would be really amazing, the thing is that consoles would explode 10 seconds after you landed in the island
They should add stuff like maybe amps from escalations in HG, or something similar, maybe ones that are not so OP, but fun
They could improve their game really so much if they wanted to, but they are focusing on balance and un-fun stuff, I mean, no matter what you have, a really good player will always be OP compared to regular ones, but well, it's their game
these devs really want to kill their own game huh
It since that DE Virus has spread pretty far to other game developers.
Exact same here

Scrapping? wow.....thanks for helping us max them out tho
The shields are lazy and boring
they dont change anything about the fights
Just keep the Factions. Especially The Drone. They can use it as a Pet System. Sell the cosmetics to change drone skins. Branch out the slayer's path of those two faction to reflect the new season. Just keep it.
They said they'll consider bringing back the future faction drone as a pet, that'd be cool at least
Actually they explicitly said they're thinking about retooling it as an Omnicell, which is exciting.
Can we all agree that Primal and Elder behemoths are trash tier content / Behemoth?
There's absolutely no motivation behind them, just behemoths with obnoxious shields and nerfed damage against them
They shouldn't remove the abilities because why have it and not use it than want it and not have it!
This is very angering considering I love the Perfect Strike
Plus it isn't really a Friend Forever if it's temporary
So I spent all that time grinding to upgrade my drone for… what?
to grind faster in a grind game
I was so hoping at some point they were going to make skins for the drones like flying pets bat bird or even a bug and for perfect strike make a skin like a pet wolf big car or small dragon that attacked when you activate the ability. I was sure that was the direction this was going in.🤦🏽♂️
I swear , i was actually really happy with the execution of the drone etc and now well all thats going to the trash i guess
As a positive, seeing the pre-patch note descriptions of the the Omnicells, the flat attack speed bonuses across all weapons, and the refunding of resources spent on cells and armor that will be changed dramatically makes me at least a bit more hopeful as it seems they do listen to *some* feedback.
welcome to dautless where your progress doesnt matter because it gets removed every patch
so far only the beta had actual progression resets.
@@Spriktor there was also atleast one hard reset after the Beta
TL/DR: New player(joined after slayer path rework), loving the game. Loss of past/future sucks, what was the point of playing it(no rewards staying). Where the hell is PTT for voice? Loving your channel so far, looking forward to more and TY.
-
I played the beta but never the release until 6 weeks ago.
*Dauntless Devs release Seasonal abilities that very clearly were meant to only stick around during the Season, both based on implimentation AND the wording of the devs.*
Dauntless Devs: These abilities are getting removed next Season.
Wasted my time working on those amps maxed both of them so fuck yea
Ouch. Glad I never wasted my time, sorry for all those that did
Could you please help me on the chronovore, I just can't

It was my pleasure contributing to your lobster look
I’m kinda upset I just started playing got my nightstalker axe, iceborne discipline build and now it’s destroyed…….3 weeks for nothing it’s upsetting
welcome to the new generation of game developers, where they break out everythign you fought for without consideration.
It would've been cool if there was one pact at a time, it got replaced every couple months and your progress didn't reset so you didn't have to farm it up again. This is just lame though, without Faction: Future, Elder behemoths are genuinely less fun to fight than solo dauntless trial bro.
Facts.
Imagine Dauntless in early 2020 with all 7 elemental escalations (including neutral, another behemoth set, why not?) and with all the fun special buffs and more content of equal or higher fun quality... man what a freaking jewel
That'd really be my wettest dream in life
But no, I'm just going to resign and take my 2,000 hours of playing with me and go cry for 2 months
Eh, no thanks - I'd rather deal with the mild inconvience of having to farm a couple more gear pieces if it means having a system that is far easier to balance and farm healthier for the long term of the game. This isn't like Reforge was; all these changes are directly beneficial to the health of the game.
You like Reforge more than how Dauntless was before that?
But na new stupid Prestige system and bullshit Battle effect that have nothing to do with the behemoths it is
@@ToxicBearStudios I get your point
But honestly I can't agree on them changing their game that much when they already had a working formula, and there weren't nerfings like now, if everyone can have the exact same tools then everyone cam be balanced, speaking of the game back then, the sword and pike wouldn't be balanced because their damage was really low, but I said imagine "old" Dauntless with the fun specials and that, I should have said pike and sword reworks too, I meant it but forgot to say it
I just would nerf Ardent Cyclone damage and Pike's damage a little, not the attack speed, it was fun
If they wanted they could keep the game fun while it being balanced
Also, the game had it's own stuff, now they are making some weird changes that people like me are not liking so much, because they were fun
If they kill something that is meta, the 2nd meta place will become first amd everyone will spam it, because it just makes sense, and then the devs are just going to want to nerf it
Dauntless is so easy compared to other games, what makes it difficult is the bad mechanics and bugs, nothing else
Dauntless as we knew it had it's gameplay formula and at least a real lot of people liked it
Imagine that, then nerfing a lot of stuff just because the devs wanted it that way, well that's what is happening right now
Anyway, you have your opinion, and I see a lot of people agree with you, same with me
My only point is that Dauntless was much more fun back then, that's all
What is the point in removing a feature we grinded for?
Classic Phoenix Labs; Short sighted decisions and not taking in player feedback.
Oh right, positive. I have a 3 day weekend coming up. Yay me?

More than glad i quit in reforge, playing since day 1 open beta. I just check casually the updates they make, best decision definitly.
I had no idea these Factions were getting removed
tbh i have love hate relationship whit those 2 factions
i like that they open some cool ways to play like boop on pistol or attack speed outside of cell for hammer/axe
but on other hand i hate that fights in team now looks like pinata of orbs or that same attack counts as fraction stack but didnt count as twin sun dodge 100% crit or that you need to swap faction every time you change loadout (there where also bugs like orb counting as enemy projectile so you could nuke boss for no reason) not to mention grinding unlocks for those 2 faction takes more time then max lvl escalation unlock
i dotn mind if they remove it form the game but would be cool if players that grinded unlocks got something for it and if they want to do seasonal skill in future they should be maxed in less then 150+ random spawn boss kills
SSSJJJJ, don't say that out loud. The discord elitist gatekeepers will burn you for it.
@@vexzi3963 its funny because even MH had some artificial difficulty, in certain parts, but it didnt gate me this hard yea know.
Do you mean the modifiers, cells and specials or the cosmetics?
@@ThePikeOfDestiny cells mainly
normal trials should be pretty easy, just put on sharpned and kok and you can probably do the break parts and stagger objectives, then just kill the behometh to get all 3 steel marks, so the timer won't even matter, or just one of the above, and not die then kill it and get all 3 steelmarks, the only time you have to worry about the timer is if you're tryna get all 3 golden marks which is only for cosmetics
(And it sounds more grindy, but trust me when I tell you it's not bc of how the system worked before Reforged.)
The lantern power creep was, honestly, completely fine imo.
Why is it called forever friend if it's not forever?

When it comes to the continuous bugs in the game, I'm kind of more lenient with the handling of them.
The game is a "fairly" new game going on it's, what, third year? I mean, I get the frustration. I have them almost all the time it happens and reporting them doesn't seem to do anything.
But..
It's a free game. The only reason I'm so lenient. If I paid close to 70 bucks for a game with these issues, I'll be demanding money back because it's unexcusable. I feel if you game is open enough to be bought, minimum to no bugs should be in the game.
For them it's not a free game

How to make a good monster hunting game?
ADD MORE MONSTERS!!! Stop reinventing the wheel and just add more and more monsters. Then when you have a massive roster create a tier above the monsters you have that bring all the monsters into the new tier with new moves and weapons and armor at this level provide more than the previous tier (aka multiple cell slots and/or more perk economy. Make each one have a meta cell natural ability then a niche cell attached to the armor so dead cells start to be seen in the meta because they are on the gear naturally anyway. )
As an Alpha Beta player, coming back to a worse game really upset me. Hunting grounds are boring, and I only enjoy escalation. Im gonna play ffxiv.
So disappointingly true...
Realy happy for the time wasted.
I mean I already kinda knew whats going on there. We spent ton of money and time for this game and in a sec they will change everything. its kinda annoying.
welcome to live service games
dammit, there goes my radiant shield ability!! now, i've lost a slot (to get +6cascade)
Devs are so out of touch with their own game and the community mainly. At this point i just think they want to kill their own game. I think i'll say goodbye to dauntless at least until things get better.
classic dauntess comment
lol funniest thing was we paid money for these things with passes they are doing this create currencies and consumble items and remove them fully
Thank god i left before the coop island update
Mah man is actually orange lmao
With this logic, maybe if we stop complaining about PhoenixLab and give them some love and support, they will be removed and we will have new Dauntless dev 🤔
I dont think thatll work either lol. With the amount of boot lickers on the sub reddit and discord it just makes things worse. At this point i think a mass exodus of paying players is the only thing that will catch their attention.
having trouble looking at a direction for dauntless? have you ever heard of warframe????
yeah, i know what you are talking about, and you probably already know why i quit Warframe like everyone else.
:/ wow every type of community is fighting the dev of the game like FIRST WAS FNAF AND SCOTT CAWTHON (still love this man) AND NOW IS THIS WITH THE FRACTION BS

In response to: "It's pretty hard to be positive about this state of Dauntless reddit if I'm being honest. Leave a positive comment about something else plz."
My Mom had her 2nd hip replacement surgery at the beginning of March this year. Mom's 70.
Congrats but how is this even relevant to this forum/youtube video?
I'd much rather grind for monster parts to upgrade gear than either get 100 aether shards and reset all my power to lvl 1 for 1 heart or 200 shards for 1 heart, I just don't like we're this game is now.
sad, i rly liked the perfect strike :/
Don't worry guys he wasn't out in the sun his mother was half lobster
I honestly cant keep playing the game. They keep changing everything, or removing things that ive worked on.
Hunting grounds are a joke. What happened to behemoths being tanky actual threats, and not pushover punching bags made from ziploc....?
Esca's where fun as hell, pity those are done huh? I dont count heroics
Idk...
you do realise they want to change this stunlock meta with the omnicells. But either way its an mmo rpg, at a certain point you just delete most things

Hello my name is Trevor, Trevor Slattery Kappa10
power creep is a thing they cant add more trees with more pets and buffs with the drone fucking about
get a grip this happens in every game
This isn't ok.
stop playing it .... they've done this to many times ... rather than focus on the few good thing they've got and making them better or expanding , like exotic armor ... they are consistently making changes to things nobody asked for ... do the math, how many hours was put into future factions slayers paths ? gone!!! .. yet elder and primal behemoths kept? ..
If primals and elders are still in the game I’m actually gonna be mad at the dev
i know the elders and primals are a pain, but if they manage to keep them in the game forever, at least they should give us means to deter their shields or attacks through something, they are extremely difficulty to solo for the wrong reason already.
@@MyNameisRevenant they get destroyed after enough hits,(made easier by the skill trees they removed) but I think it should just reduce damage taken from behemoths or be a destructive object that you either try to move around or take your time to kill
Positive you say? Well I have hope that dauntless will never be good again. Hope is positive ;)
this game is getting worse and worse, prove me wrong
So basically the game is dead because their developers either dont know what they are doing or simply dont care about their playerbase,.... understandable, thats all i needed to hear.
