Thanks guys. My wife went with me last week to get her 2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited serviced which was unusual occurrence and now we own a 2022 Genesis GV70 2.5t Sport package white with red/black interior. Palisade only had 15,000 miles and we had 0 intention of trading vehicles. Got a great deal and an awesome vehicle not that the Palisade wasn’t just different. Genesis gets all kind of looks and feels sporty and premium. No regrets here and glad she went with me. Like a commenter said below ‘don’t knock it until you have tried it’. Thanks again great video. Oh by the way until last week had heard of Genesis and the GV80 but never heard of the GV70. Dealership had three including ours and all were gone in four days.
I’ve spent close to $10,000 on maintenance and repairs for my Q5 in the last year.... I really wish the warranty was better because I love the car. But it just costs so much! The warranty alone for the Genesis GV70 has me ready to switch teams. Currently driving a Loaner A4 and I’m not impressed at all... I think the Germans got comfortable.
In Singapore, the Germans cars have higher reputation but cost a bomb for maintenance and spare parts. The asian cars are cheaper to maintain though. German cars tend to have minor faults here and there which costs a lot to repair though they have better engine and parts. It's the GV70 for me...☺🏁
The updated Audi Q5/SQ5 looks “droopy”. I like the new Audi grill on the sedans, but on these smallish SUVs it just doesn’t look right. Gv70 in the looks department and interior luxury all day long.
Interesting... i actually take more issue with that curvy swoop over the front fender that then goes straight... I much prefer the A4 and other sedans that just curve up and then go right back.
Would take the GV70 without a doubt. So elegant and bespoke inside and out. Audi is so boring and the piano black plastic inside is so low rent/VW drab black.
I like the gv70 better, but their leasing price way higher than Audi Q5. So I went to both dealerships today and end up with signed a leasing paper for Audi Q5 Sportback. Genesis need to lower their leasing prices.
The Audi just seems dated, especially the interior. The displays are nice but the layout just seems old. Maybe because it's dark in color. I'd take the GV70 in this comparison.

Hey Jonathan, Peter & team, Thx for the review - Well done!! The GV70 offers a wide variety of modes for the driver to enjoy. As I approach 60 yrs old (and I'm a bit of a car guy) I totally love the luxury & comfort side of vehicles BUT also what to turn it up when I can. This GV70 3.5TT should really be about $20-$50K higher priced. It simply does everything really well and is 2nd to none is this segment when it comes to ride quality, comfortness, quietness all while surrounding the occupants with massive luxury features. It is called the baby Bentayga for many reasons. It is so quiet & refined when you want it to be - When you're stuck in traffic or going no where fast. My wife asked me if it was an EV as it was so quiet. Those double paned windows really make a huge difference. Plus the massaging seat is nice!! When you want to drive spiritedly switch it into Sports + mode and you easily hear the roar of the engine and the sweet exhaust notes while enjoying the rear wheel driving bias sporty experience. In comparison, the RDX A Spec it an excellent top rated vehicle but that engine is super noisy vs the GV70 and its a much more stiffer ride. Plus I wasn't impressed with the 0-60 time of 6.4 seconds to the GV 70's of 5.7 (4.9 seconds in the V-6). And the RDX weighs 450 lbs less. Its the luxury components/options, higher tech, standard features & options, the ride quality (can be extremely quiet & smooth AND aggressive and sweet exhaust notes) that makes this GV 70 THE clear winner in segment. Overall the CLEAR winner for me the is the GV70 3.5TT in Sport trim level. Besides its NO Gas requirement the EV version is a littler quicker with 0-60 times 4.3 to 4.6 seconds. For me I'd put down my deposit yesterday if the EV version had a time in the 3.5 second range. It will have a 500 kms range on a full charge. PS - Lots of dealer problems with Genesis in the States. Here in Vancouver No problems at all. Acura came out the gates outselling the Germans opening the door for Lexus which built a S Class at half the price. They did this early on. Genesis is 7 years old by that time Lexus was #1 seller of luxury vehicles
