@Pardip Basra I also thought that episode highlighted the other aspects of Space: 1999. The International Space Dock, the beautiful spaceship destined to planet Ultra, the broadcast from Houston, Planet Earth and finally, that mournful classical music that played during the voyage to/from Ultra. And, as far as Tony Cellini is concerned, WOOF!
Except for season two. This show had great beginnings, however, it seemed they lost track. They had 311 crew in Moonbase Alpha, that’s where the stories should have focused on. And they had a destination. Planet Ultra. But is was not heard of again after the first episode.
I really liked the unisex uniforms of Space 1999. A lot of people don't like them because they weren't very flattering, but in an era where your typical female officer was wearing a miniskirt or a low cut top, I thought that these looked both professional and suitably futuristic.
I don’t think that Dragon’s Domain was made for young minds. It’s a.very unsettling episode and seems somewhat out of place compared to the other episodes in my view.
I've seen a lot of messy horror movies since, with emphasis on blood and gore... But "Dragon's Domain" was different. Like an alien event. The crew of the Ultra Probe got thrown into a literal hell. The sole survivor never recovered and got scapegoated.
I watched Space:1999 religiously every week when I was a kid... and I never realised it was a sequel to UFO (another show I loved). Talk about jaw dropping when I found out the other year.
I have been trying to watch the Entire series and see how many people died on Moonbase: Alpha, because I think there were ~300 staff onboard when that happen. And those Purple-sleeved fellows, I wonder how many they have left???
In my opinion, "Space: 1999" is more than just the Alphans' permanent struggle for survival. It IS that, but there's also something much greater, the fulfilling of a destiny, that depends on their survival. In the episode "Collision Course", Arra, Queen of Atheria, told Commander Koenig that "the Moon will continue on, its odyssey knowing no end, spreading humanity throughout the deepest reaches of space". And "the Mysterious Unknown Force", mentioned in the episode "The Testament of Arkadia", may be helping the Moon's ongoing journey to fulfill its greater purpose.
The orchestral build up at the end of this track is truly astounding !!! - it is full of atmospheric power and intensity that just sends you soaring high !!! A masterpiece.
I was TOTALLY ADDICTED to this FANTASTIC TV series LOVED IT & like many, many others miss it 😞 Gerry Anderson was one EXTREMELY!!! TALENTED man to create such a show amongst many other FANTASTIC TV series.
This was and is my first sci fi love-the theme for me was and is the only one that is fitting for the show. After 44 years it’s as good today as it ever was.
Another series that went too early, this show was my all time favorite. There has been mix reviews why it was canceled to infighting, the direction it was heading and ratings declining, that couldn't get resolved. The series covered a lot of things I wanted to know about the universe and introduced to me to other possibilities about it as well. A classic in my heart..hmm I can think of another one too that was axed way to early...Firefly :(
Thank you. This music causes me chills after more than 40 years. It is definitely the musical motive that I have heard most in my life. Greetings from Italy!
This sounds somewhat like the theme music on the vinyl RCA soundtrack album. I remember buying this album at a record store as a kid a year after the series was canceled. Barry Gray’s theme music had, and still has, such a sense of true awe and wonder to it.
My favourite sci fi show as a child ,I was twelve when it came out .Loved the theme music ,the storylines ,and a wonderful cast . Would love to go back to the seventies .
I went to Google, and found out that September 13, 1999, was on a Monday.( I was hoping for Friday.) That's the day the Moon was blasted out of Earth's orbit on the program." Space: 1999".
I am the "like" number 200. An eclectic and unforgettable series! The initial theme of the first season always seemed sophisticated to my thirsty childish ear. Thanks for keeping the echo alive! Greetings from Argentina!
+Tanson32 - Yeah, me too, I was in fact in my teens when it was first shown, and I could not be pulled away from it by anybody for any reason, I was fascinated by the thought of being around in 1999, in the distant future, as it was was for me. How sad that my dear mother who also watched & like it died of cancer in August 1999, a sad memory for me, & strangely the same year I qualified in I.T. at age 40 after going back to Uni. BSc I.T. (Hons) (a strange year indeed, it was).
The only way I could even tell it was edited is in the beginning, the stereo output switches being mostly left speaker to mostly right. But I know you can't help that, as they were recorded that way. Very nice Job.
Great opening theme and titles. Series was seriously underrated, would probably have got more viewers if the ITV schedulers had given the programme a network showing instead of leaving it up to the regions when and where they wanted to show it, and that goes for a lot of material too, Gerry Anderson's Secret Service is a good case in point!
12 years old...today 54...tears, only tears...space 1999, incredible!!!😞
One of the most underrated sci-fi series of all time.
Without a shadow of a doubt mate.... Theme just reminded me of the late 70's as a kid !!!
Acting much better than Star wars and star trek
Way ahead of it's time . Ranks up there with UFO .

I've always loved the bass line from this opening. Dragon's Domain scared me as a kid!
That’s John McCoy from Gillan on bass.
I don’t think that Dragon’s Domain was made for young minds. It’s a.very unsettling episode and seems somewhat out of place compared to the other episodes in my view.
@@Colindale31 lol Dragon's Domain is everyones' fave episode from the first season precisely because it WAS so scary.
Funny how I stumbled on this video (and saw this comment!) because I wanted to learn the bass line 🙂
I've seen a lot of messy horror movies since, with emphasis on blood and gore... But "Dragon's Domain" was different. Like an alien event. The crew of the Ultra Probe got thrown into a literal hell. The sole survivor never recovered and got scapegoated.
Beautiful music from this mythical show, which I met when I was a child and to which I am very fond even today, at 52 years old!
you never get too old to watch this. I am 56 and enjoyed "The Beta Cloud" the other night
@@richardclarke376 Yes, of course!
I watched Space:1999 religiously every week when I was a kid... and I never realised it was a sequel to UFO (another show I loved). Talk about jaw dropping when I found out the other year.
Star Trek: Unite the galaxy & explore the unexplored.
Star Wars: Defeat the tyrannical Empire & bring peace to the galaxy.
Space: 1999: *Survive.*
Well if you watch ST series or even SW movies you’ll see it’s survival too lol
I have been trying to watch the Entire series and see how many people died on Moonbase: Alpha, because I think there were ~300 staff onboard when that happen. And those Purple-sleeved fellows, I wonder how many they have left???

Star Trek: wagon train to the stars. By joining the military and fighting it.
44 years old and still good as ever!
Good music is timeless....
This is, without a doubt, the most 70's music I have heard in my entire life
The orchestral build up at the end of this track is truly astounding !!! - it is full of atmospheric power and intensity that just sends you soaring high !!! A masterpiece.
Grew up watching this show, and still watch it and I'm 53
The second series is a classic example of something that wasn't broken being fixed.
My little brother and I were so into this show in the 70s. This, star trek and thunderbirds
Fantastic. Barry Gray was a musical genius.
That he was, Craig. R.I.P. Barry.
Truly genius ❤
Good call.
@@SiFiClark this theme sounds a lot better on a record, a nice slab of black would be a fanatastic singers#
THIS TUNE I SO SGREATT
@@paulbrut with ya pal
You can't get any more 70s with this theme song
Ikr? 😅😂 they killed it!!! 😅

I was around 9 years old when I first saw this show and it fascinated me. I now own the series on DVD.
One of the greatest TV shows of all time.
This was and is my first sci fi love-the theme for me was and is the only one that is fitting for the show. After 44 years it’s as good today as it ever was.
This show was so ahead of it's time and will always be one of my favorites..Have them all on DVD...Classic Sci fi..

"the direction it was heading "...Very Good!
Good news the compete series is out on blu just got it so clean and new in the sound
You had me until you mentioned Firefly.
Thank you.
This music causes me chills after more than 40 years. It is definitely the musical motive that I have heard most in my life. Greetings from Italy!
magari un corso di Inglese ti aiuterebbe meglio a capire questi capolavori...per poi commentarli
@aguage99 I agree totally! The power of music right there! This thrills me even after 40 years, especially the closing credits theme.
Barry Gray's Year 1 theme is dominated by a motif consisting of 4 notes(a la the "Dragnet" theme and the "5th Symphony" of Beethoven).
This sounds somewhat like the theme music on the vinyl RCA soundtrack album. I remember buying this album at a record store as a kid a year after the series was canceled. Barry Gray’s theme music had, and still has, such a sense of true awe and wonder to it.
I, too, was the proud owner of this album on vinyl, RCA ABL1-1422.
Certainly is the most underrated Sci-fi I love it!
It's always My favorite sci-fi TV show. I love it ❤️😍
Best music of all time😊😊
I grew up as a child watching Space:1999
My favourite sci fi show as a child ,I was twelve when it came out .Loved the theme music ,the storylines ,and a wonderful cast . Would love to go back to the seventies .
Was born 1989 but my father shared this show with me and I love it
Believe me in the dark days of the 1970s this theme meant a lot!
RIP Martin Landau!
Ilove spacè 1999
...and the thirty other people on the show that have since died...
I went to Google, and found out that September 13, 1999, was on a Monday.( I was hoping for Friday.) That's the day the Moon was blasted out of Earth's orbit on the program." Space: 1999".
Brought back memories. Saw it when it came out in USA in 1975

The best decade...60 - 70 - 80....for all
Most underrated theme ever!
This song sure takes me back. I remember as a child watching this series raptly every time it was on. Thanks for the awesome memories. ;)

Man i can’t believe it’s been nearly 20 years since we last seen the moon in the sky
Loved it, back in the 70s.👌❤️
What a song. Loving the WAH wah pedal...XXXXXX
Great reediting with crystal clear sound and picture. Magnificent.

Love the blend of rock with classical music fot this soundtrack.
It's beautiful I love it.
Such a great sound track to a favourite sci-fi tv show, thanks for uploading.
Great work. Reliving my childhood listening to this.
So badass reminds me of Sunday morning as a kid love it 😍
Loved this show as a young boy. I still look at staple guns as phasers to initially be set to stun. Martin Landau will always be Commander Koenig.
awesome in billions of ways
Now THAT'S a remix! Bravo! BTW, give Commander Koenig my regards!
To my ears this is what Space 1999, the movie outro would have sounded like!
Great work!
Looking forward for more of your creations !
Outstanding soundtrack great work guys
Very very well done, nice job making it longer and adding in all the unique flairs and intro/outro bits. Love it, classic piece of childhood here.
Great job Rizwan, what great memories of my childhood...THANKS!

Nicely done! It's something I've done mentally since hearing it when I was a kid.
fantastic
This absolutely beautiful, awesome work :)
The first 20 seconds is just epic!
...and the last 30 too!
Takes me back to autumn 1975 and those Thursday evenings on ITV.
We were spoilt; in addition to this, Dr Who was in it’s golden era.
Ass kicking version of the theme, thanks for posting!
Good funky guitar xxxx
I used to race home from my busboy job as a kid to watch this on Sunday nights
It was 20 years ago today...
Wow cool
I still can’t get used to not seeing a moon in the sky

Great Job!! I like your ending, before the 'ending titles'!!
The closest I’ll ever get to being in space is owning an Eagle Transporter toy wayyyyyy back then. Oh and a SHADO Interceptor.
Superb! Do UFO next please!

Most series seemed to pop out a dark Sci-Fi episode. The Avengers had The Maneater of Surrey Green,The Saint had The House on Dragon Rock.
