US Barts are superb pickups. I didn't like them at all up until maybe 10 years ago, but that was because I had only played Ibanez and Cort basses with Barts made in Asia before that. Once I found out that US made Barts are completely different pickups and got a chance to play them I immediately fell in love with them! I actually think that Bartolini is kinda ruining their own reputation by licensing their name to Cort and Ibanez.
Totally concur. I have replaced many MK1 Pickups on Ibanez and Cort and the difference in clarity and depth is huge. The worst part is the MK1 Preamp on those basses.
@@lffabara The pre-amps are terrible as well, but if only the pickups were somewhat okay you could simply keep the bass in passive mode. Some Ibanez and Cort basses are amazing instruments, but they fall so short because of the electronics they put in them. Considering the price point though, I guess you can't really fault them.
I try this to explain this to people that don’t know the difference between true Barts
Gorgeous bass and sounds great man!
5:49 Nice playing of The Distance by Cake. I love that bassline.
I knew there were other brands besides emg!
Kidding aside, more pickup reviews please. I'd love to see demos on the sixties and relentless series by dimarzio.
These would be a great upgrade in a Harley Benton bass
I have these on a Mexican Fender Player PJ...its my number 1...over my American 74 jazz and 71 precision.
I like these pickups! the highs are there but not harsh or over the top. sounds more "even" best way i know to explain it. I would like to request some MEC pickup reviews!
I should have mentioned some of the history on these pickups but I will on the 5 string J demo. Basically these are based off an original asymmetric magnetic field design by Bill Bartolini. They are still encapsulated even though the poles are exposed. These are super even and full without any brittleness on the top end. They do not get glassy. They’re my favorite pickup they make!
I love the b-axis Js, I have these on my Warwick corvette std 4 and was planning on putting them on the 5 string one.
Nice bass👍
Good video. I like seeing some non-EMG pickups demo'd. I like the down to earth vibe, but maybe adding more info about the specs would be nice.
You mean like the style magnet? What specs would you have liked to have heard? They are a passive Alnico V with asymmetric magnetic field to fully capture response. They are an Alnico V magnet. I wanted to try and work that info in without sounding like a robot but at the same time keep it like it’s just friends talking and show focus to the pickups and their sound. You’re spot on tho. I’ll make sure to fit it in for the 5 string J demo also. Thanks for watching and the feedback
I love the sound of that PJ set ! The P has that midrangy sound characterized by them but with a more hump to it. I just recently bought the Sadowsky MetroXpress hybrid PJ and although it sounds amazing I still think the P pickup lacks character. These B-Axis might be the ones to help out !
We’re going to do a review of the five string jazz base set also so stay tuned
Oh snap, go Chuck. Get Chris to try some other brands.
I’m working him down 😂 it’s only taken a couple years lol
O som ficou muito bom 🇧🇷
Would love for you guys to do the J set. Every demo I've seen so far of them sounds fantastic.
It will be coming up soon. We have a five string, jazz bass set that we’re going to be demoing.
Radical 🤘
had a schecter all maple p/j setup. schaller bridge. duncan p/j pickups. and grover titan keys. before schecter was making instruments. been gone for years.
Anybody know the song/band from that first riff at the beginning of the video?
Hey Man Nice Shot by Filter
@@Therealchuckbailey thank you sir. Haven’t heard it in some time, and my addled brain couldn’t remember. Cheers!
NICE BASS
WHO IS THAT A PICTURE OF
I always joke that it’s my uncle lol
COOL@@Therealchuckbailey
what does the 3 way selector do?
Select either p, both or bridge
does the tone knob afect both pickups?@@soulstart89
@@SonidoPrimordial yes tone affects the bass sound no matter which pick-up setting you pick
Everything above is correct!
Is the J-style pickup a true single? Or is it split/stack?
I believe It's an humbucker
Mazzaropi on the pic guard?
Closer to Tuco I think from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
