Converting a motorcycle to electric is a ton of work! But you can get some insane bang for your buck on specs and performance, plus you get a unique and awesome bike in the end - We converted this 2002 Ducati Monster 750 to electric and it was quite the project! But it came out PERFECT for a ....reasonable....price in the end.

I love building things myself simply because of the cost of man hours. You guys had a ton of time in this thing and it shows. You definitely never get your time back in the form of dollars on extremely custom self builds. But you also learn and grow through the process.

Sheesh, for perspective, I built an EFI Ford Small block and manual transmission back in the early 2000's with mostly used parts off eBay and only about 900.00 in labor to a performance shop (did 95 percent of everything myself) total cost was just under 10k and this was 20 years ago.
That's one beautiful motorcycle. A true motorcycle as it has a motor instead of an engine now :D You guys inspire people! And thanks to that, I'll start my conversion soon :) I just need to decide what type of LiFePO4 to use haha. After all the conversions you made, maybe you guys consider making a comparison video of the battery packs you built and the motors (hub/mid) you used. Thanks again for all your efforts :)
Always a fascinating video to see an electric bike built from scratch, even if it's using an existing base. It takes a while but you guys seem to have fun building them.

Really great great job, my only consideration is on the shape/design of the battery pack, but final result it's really cool
such a sick bike. Love lithium iron battery choice for dramatically increased longevity of the bike. I want my own electric motorcycle, I watched your Chinese electric sportbike series and I think maybe I could pick one of those up and mod it out like you did yours for something nice and affordable. Electric cars are so expensive so electric motorcycles are really how you have to go if you want a real electric vehicle.
Very nice build, and a great use of the battery as a design element - it's really well balanced with the frame and overall the bike has a great stance. I think the parts price is reasonable given what you ended up with - a very fast, very cool electric motorbike that rivals factory-built for performance and specs.

It's really cool. I'm wondering if you can use some fairings to hide the battery pack. Or change the shape of the battery pack to flow better. It wouldn't be too difficult.
Your build is so inspiring, I went out and bought my own Ducati to convert. I've got to ask, if you had to do it over again, what would you change? Powertrain, battery, layout, or appearance wise?
Worth it because it came out sick! I have just over $2200 in my Honda xr350r electric conversion and it's faster than the gas engine was, the range is only around 20mi do to my budget battery but hey it charges in only 1.5 hours!

Hi, love your videos on the EV bike. is it possible to put another hub motor at the front wheel to give more power and more regenerative braking? Or can use as regen at all time like a dynamo?

Bike looks very nice as it is but might of been cool to make the battery box more of a feature. Maybe laser etch a design into it. Or laser cut outs with clear windows and lighting inside. Or maybe just changing the shape so it looks less boxy, sacrificing some capacity/range. Good luck to those who entered to win this beast.
May have missed it, but what kind of range does this build get?
Loved this build, I have my own MinE-moto that I converted, now gets 40 miles in range and does about 45+ on a 72v 5000w motor. I made your ducati's little brother lol
I think you could sell these custom builds for $15k and have a very interactive community watching fellow members get the electric bike of their dreams built!
15k is too high, zero bikes are 20k with 7 times better motor and better build and a warranty.
Since you been through the whole project. Is there and motorcycles frame wise that you feel would’ve made a better donor?
Things to look for as far as fitting battery packs and such? I was also pondering doing rear hub motor and only 50 mile range.
Pretty much anything besides this bike would've been better. Haha. Something where the frame doesn't use the stock engine as a mount point.
On a serious note how much would you charge to build something like this obviously on a different platform but a similar concept 03 suzuki gsxr 750
I know it probably won't show much, but you guys should try to throw it on a circuit, and on a dyno vs a stock one and see how it compares.

In all honesty for the money you spent, as a project that you got a quality motorcycle in the end of. Isn't bad at all. Especially considering the reason you built it, was for the project. Its all about the journey. And it did pay off.

Perhaps rare earth magnet electric engine's with pliable lithium batteries forming modular parts like the mudguards for example all mounted to a light weight but super strong Chrome Moly frame with parts made of Kevlar including the wheels , with 0- 60 mph speeds regularly done in 6 seconds , yes yes dream's perhaps, just like not so long ago landing on the moon was only a dream.

i have a electric motorcycle i got off alibaba its a 20k w z1000 120ah lithium battery, the range on it while going about 100km a hour is like 60km... was wondering if that sounds noraml to u ? if not does anyone make batterypacks that i can buy to swap out on my bike to get better range. i have a 10amp charger and it takes about 12h to fully charge so the battery pack is prob 120ah.

Yep! Actually very comparable to the original bike! ~60hp, top speed is within 12mph of the original bike

Not nearly enough to cover it haha. We maybe made $1000 on all the videos, if that. Even with the giveaway happening we're not even at a break-even on this. It's going to be a hard one to see go :/

I'm hoping my mx style ebike doesn't cost me more than like $800. I mean im trying to squeeze 45-48mph but im using a mid mounted chain drive motor with a 10t motor sprocket to a 36t wheel sprocket on 20in wheels using a 48v 2000w power train to start with

Are you allowed to wear a Grunt Style tshirt in California? Grunt Style is pro 2A 😅.......You have to adopt some congruent or ascetic flow onto the battery box.
Extend the battery container up through the seat area and raise the tank up 2 inches. Make a mold of a basic motor/tranny- use that as your vessel-container to streamline the bike. Break away from the Tetris protocol of battery placement. You've already tackled so,many issues, its time to become creative and think outside "of the battery box". Among other things I'm an artist, I can send you some drafts. I not poaching for money either. I've also been a ICAR certified autobody technician and PPG Platinum certified collision painter for 33yrs. I've customized and painted just about everything. I have 0% interest in having an electric vehicle but, a bike on the other hand i definitely would. Instant torque, set up a audio file and speaker for different bike sounds and tones. Amazon movie " Snake Eyes- a GI Joe origins story" they have full out ebikes.

Almost no power for those lights. Not a bit of difference will be noticeable!
