  • As a potentially record-breaking heat wave strikes and air conditioning units and electrical infrastructure are being tested across the Las Vegas valley, many tenants are weighing their options should those systems fail in their homes.

    These places are over charging and they are low quality outdated old buildings. This state is incompetent.

    My rent jump up from 1300 to 1600 for a 1 bd in NLV... we need help with rent control. My car insurance jump up from 105 to 225 a month with a clean record for the past 22 years. Vegas is getting to the point where I'm going to get price out living here. It's freaking hard to be single and trying to survive these days. Everything is so freaking high in cost.

    Sounds like these landlords need to set aside a few months worths of potential expenses as a nest egg

      Easier said than done. The government is putting caps on how much rent a landlord can charge. Combine that with how much a landlord has to go through to keep the security deposit when a tenant damages the property, and the federal government telling tenants that they didn't have to pay rent during covid . Where's that money supposed to come from?

    I’m starting to think the thermostat is a lie to make you run your ac longer

    I made sure to watch the video before I made the comment. There is NO immediate resolution for resolving a broken AC if you are a renter. Even if you have the funds the ac companies will only work with the owner of the AC unit. A majority of the rentals are owned by property management that don't live here nor do they reply quickly to this issue. For a place where AC is Required to live, you would think that they would GAF. But they don't. Stay cool

      Thank the constituents who voted for all these lying politicians who are all in bed with the Nevada Division of Insurance, Nevada Real Estate and the Chamber of Commerce. These lying politicians are raking in the bucks from these entities to screw their consituents out of regulating YOUR RIGHTS! From Susie Lee to Jacky Rosen, including your dear Republican governor Lombardo that you all voted for. In the state of Nevada, they ALL work together to screw everyone and steal their money, while claiming "they're passing bills" that never get passed. The majority of this town aren't filled with the brightest bulbs. Do you get it now?

      I went looking into apartments a couple years ago & found some that didn't even have AC - I thought how could that even be LEGAL in Vegas with the heat we get.

    Lots of these landlords are cheap. These a/c condensors are older than 20 years.

    Tom Shydler even yelled at me not to call him on a Friday afternoon about the A/C being out. Then he made me remove all the clothes from the closet which had nothing to do with the AC unit

    Just don’t pay the rent … they’ll get the memo 😂. treat your tenantship like a business. it’s a contract , if either party doesn’t honor the contract. Let the courts decide. Don’t pay the rent. Have some balls

      Courts will most always rule to evict and then you will have an eviction on your record.

      @@midnightsmoker3767 they can try ! But then a judge here’s what is going on ! trust me judges don’t like slumlords. People don’t have the balls to take on slumlords. Filing papers for eviction is just a piece of paper

      in my opinion this will not end well, one thing i learned when i moved to las vegas , properties are run mostly by management companies and THEY DONT F AROUND.

    • @bbustin1747
      @bbustin1747 3 дні тому

      @@danielavila5081 that’s what the landlords use to hurt tenants. They have more resources. just take the bum to court and make him honor the contract , unless the contract says specifically AC is not provided ! And in Vegas seems highly improbable. But who knows !

      Tell them to stop ripping up the grass lol. Less grass means hotter surfaces and more urban heating. We barely use water so I am not sure why Las Vegas is removing grass... seems like a novelty project and not something that is actually useful.
