It would be interesting to hear more about foot technique in the triples. Some teachers will tell you it is essential that your heels will touch the ground on every step, while others will accept or even recommend a ball step that stays up at least for the "and" part if you use this step for a direction change as in an underarm turn. (All from a leaders perspective...)

That's why I advocate to find one teacher and understand their philosophies deeply. In some cases teachers are bad, most of the time they are good but they will seem to conflict with other good teachers. In general both techniques have their place. I'll try to dig in and cover my philosophy on the subject on a video. Thanks for the support Thomas! -Brian

Great breakdown. I have only understood enough of this to do it myself, but not necessarily well enough to realize how I was doing it or how to teach it. Cool beans!

Thanks Kurt. I'm glad it was helpful. These Friday videos will be 100% driven by questions people have given us over the years. It's been exciting to dig in and help. Best wishes, Brian B

So how much weight do you generally transfer for the partial weight change? Is it enough for the follower to notice the partial weight transfer?

Great question David. I don't think there is an exact answer. The speed of the music, your styling ect would all be variables. If you shoot for around 50% I think that would be a good starting point. As for the follower feeling the weight changes.... Yes! You'll be amazed at how improvements in moving your own body will translate into your connection and to your follower! I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any more questions. -Brian

I enjoyed the explanation. I was watching how you rolled your feet on the "and" portion. Thank you. (Your message pop-up in the middle of your video will take some getting used to but I understand why you're doing it.)

Hi there! thanks for the kind words. Yes the pop up is a new thing. I will be doing more of it for this reason. We've got LOTS of helpful content. We're working on getting the right helpful resources to the right people at the right time. So we will be trying to help people find the most helpful tips at the right time. The 'Frustration Friday" videos are a step in that direction. A FREE E-Book that we're launching in early 2020 is another. It will have a menu to direct people to the topics that are troubling them. Then we can easily provide answers to those problems as well as links to other videos and course that might be helpful. 2020 will be exciting! Oh and we're launching a new version of our website that will be SUPER cool. Thanks again for the support & happy holidays! -Brian B

    So it's like a rumba?

Structurally no its not like rumba. But if you think of it in 2 beat increments it is kind of like rumba.
