in my opinion, holo is the standard banchmark of the big league. they learn from their mistake and didnt let their branch lag behind or abandoned. i hope holo can keeping their work culture like that and maybe some improvement here and there in more years to come.
True. Felt like at the beginning ID and EN branches weren't getting much support but over time they were getting more and more chances to do what the JP side was doing. More concerts, 3D showcases, sponsorships and etc.
@@kylewood4488-b9r Should not forget that ID Gen 1 debuted shortly before the Covid shitshow started. And Myth Debuted right durring the hight of it. Then ID2 came right after. The main reason why ID1 > Myth > ID2 took so long for their first 3D's was simply because of Covid restrictions. And Cover still went way waaaaaay out of their way to have them become part of Holo Fes. Cover payed upward of 50k $ to have Kiara, Ame, Gura, Ina be able to get into 3rd Party Mocap Studios to have their Fes Performances recorded. Thats per Talent btw. When you compair it to Council, Sorry "Promise" and ID3 wich literally the upcomeing weekends their 3D's will be showcased it was rather quick compaired to ID1 - Myth - ID2. Simply because no Covid Restrictions anymore and the girls can travle to Japan at any given time.
@@kylewood4488-b9r I mean, i think the reason why ID and EN was lagging behind with the concerts, 3d showcases was because of the pandemic... remember it was only just last year that japan really opened their borders and it was really hard for EN and ID to go to japan where all the resources are... now that holo have more resources, and the talents can now go to japan, they can now enjoy the benefits of being a talent working at hololive...
Most start ups take years to become reliably profitable. Cover wasn't even started as a vtuber agency, it is something that grew out of an experiment. One small company that I came to respect was Tsunderia. They eventually admitted that they didn't have the resources to support the talents and decided to close and let everyone keep their assets so they could keep going on their own.
Phase Connect has basically absorbed Tsunderia at this point (outside the males, and Lisa who is a close Phase friend anyway). Ironic since Tsunderia management not allowing Sakana to invest in the company is what led him to start Phase to begin with.
As a Vtuber since 2020 with shitty abilities in advertisement, I can say with certainty that, in a wide range of situations, joining a company is the best thing you can do for your careeer and sometimes you just need a good manager and a little push (and that's why people still audition to "not good companies")
I think back to CDawg talking (and kind of shitting) on people who join agencies, saying they have no talent when i think about agencies. A big benefit to it, so it seems, is that sometimes you just need better resources than the ones you have, and that's where joining an agency seems to be legitimately the best option. Naturally its a more stable gig than going solo (props to you by the way, keep it up!) and you gain more solid resources, managers to keep you afloat, and access to a social circle of individuals in varying levels of being in the same position.
@@vincenttorrijos9680 CDawg never said that agency vtubers have no talent. He was talking about a hypothetical vtuber who got into a company like Hololive without any talent. She would still begin at a significant advantage due to exposure to and loyalty of existing fans.
Just don't join ones that had whole gens leave because of how bad it is. Biggest red flag an agency can have is the consistency in the resignations and the overlapping reasons for it. Also if the ones who remain are being Mean Girls about it.
A thing about Idol Corp which I don't see people talk about at all, even though it's HUGE is they are planning to launch and are having auditions for a Spanish speaking wave, IdolES. For the longest time I've found it baffling how neither of the two giants or any of the relatively more established corpos have launched an ES branch much sooner, the Spanish speaking market is a diamond mine in clear sight which for some reason has remained untouched for years. If they don't throw the ball this could easily proper them into being the third biggest traditional corpo behind the two giants, and could start a wave of agencies launching ES gens.
Trying...its hard to get across the depth of the feeling of worthlessness after the third or fourth time and still not even hearing a word back. It really is like a job, the rung onto the semi-prestigious rung of the job market ladder in that respect. I guess what separates the wheat from the chaff is the sheer persistence, of being able to carry on knowing that.
I mean, I’ve auditioned to a multitude of VTuber agencies and the only one I managed to get into was because of the fact of that they had an audition process where everyone could get in yet they would effectively abandon you and leave you to your own devices, all while defending their actual talents, I think I’ve auditioned for about 20 different agencies and that was the only one I got into, I either got no response back, I told I didn’t make it, didn’t even make it to auditions, I just pretty much got shafted since I’m a nobody
Hololive is killing it and none of their talent have become react channels like a lot of indy and other agency V-tubers have. Cover really has an eye for exceptional talent.
Most of them have same-ish content but their personalities are the major differentiating factor. It may be the same game but the hilarity that ensues on their experiences helps keeps it fresh.
true, but hololive is the opposite spectrum in that theres no creative passion at all. its just a job at that point, are you really watching hololive member for them or for how the company wants them to act and stream?
@@VenganceAngel19 The Hololive girl's personalities shine through in everything they do. They aren't allowed to comment in anything political, get too lewd, or make react videos to meme compilations. Most Indy's rely heavily on making lewd and highly sexualized content and/or having scantly clad avatars with HUGE tits. 90% of them make react videos to the same meme compilations as everyone else who has fallen into the react channel void. V-Shojo, while I love all of them, have began doing the same. Niji has incredible talent as well, but keep losing them. Selen, Pomu, Enna, Vox, etc. are all amazing together. Nina was too, but now she's a fucking V-Shojo cockroach. Why a cockroach, Nina? Another amazing V-Tuber is Rin. I forget who she's with, but holy shit she's incredible. Tenma is a legend. Um... I love Chibi, but her chat annoys the shit out of me. Where was I going with this? Oh well, I forgor.
@@VenganceAngel19 Knowing Calli's other personality, I can say that they are practically the same thing, just changing the avatar. Some may be more different from their other faces, and others may be the same, but delivering good entertainment what's the problem?
VOMS project has proven itself to fall nicely between micro-agency and friend group, and one of the better ones to be in. GYARI seems to be a nice dude, handles himself well as the sole staff member, and the talents that work for him are likeable and good at what they do. Their main limiting factor is that you're required to be fluent Japanese and a Japanese citizen. He struck gold with Pikamee, though, because she was bilingual and could therefor cross the language barrier, making her appealing to overseas audiences. However, her inevitable success this forced GYARI to take his VTubing business more seriously, hence why it 'upgraded' from being something more akin to a friend group to an actual micro-agency. With her gone, though, it devolved back to the friend group it was designed to be, and unless he can find a new member with similar features as Pikamee, it will probably forever stay that way. But, given that it's pretty much a non-profit organization, that also means he will suffer little to no financial setback. And the talents keep everything they earn, so it's nice pocket money for them, too. My opinion on VShojo has improved a lot since Henya joined and Vei, Silvervale and Nyanners left. Since then, each new member seems to be a good fit. Only downside: they exclusively stream on Twitch, which limits their audience. Still, if you're a sizable ex-VTuber, and get along well with Ironmouse (and probably other members), you have a high chance of being recruited by them. Phase Connect and IdolEN have also exceeded my expectations. Likeable talents, and the CEO seems to be solid. I expect those two agencies to become bigger as smaller ones fall out of the market or, in case of Akio, WACTOR and Taiyaki Studios, get exposed as black companies). Hololive is so far the strongest of the big two. Most talents are highly enjoyable (especially the twin doggos), and the company seems very competent in what they do. Hard to get into, though they _will_ reconsider your application if you refuse to give up and keep trying. Nijisanji has a lot of good and entertaining talents, but their management needs some work. Could be better, but by far not the worst, either. Also hard to get into, especially if you just started. I agree with your overall sentiments, though, should you want to join any of these companies, make sure to take your time to read the contract. If you have doubts, either try negotiating for a better one, or don't sign it at all. Preferably, if you have the resources, have a contract lawyer go through it with you.
I find it interesting vshojo fans think it has improved since nyanners left, since my enjoyment if nyanners content went down while she was a part of the group and went back up ever since she left.
@@TombaFanatic Doesn't that support the general notion that VShojo is doing better without her (and vice versa, that she is doing better on her own)? For the record, I was never much into VShojo until Henya joined, so my opinion may be a bit jaded.
This is a pretty good take. The only slightly bit of wrong info is that VShojo only streams on Twitch - Geega streams on YT usually once a week, Mousey is planning on the same once she gets it set up, Kson mostly streams there, and there’s no reason why the rest couldn’t. I think they generally just don’t see the need
3 months later and Nijisanji is on fire Also, I think it's smart of Vshojo to let their talent choose their coworkers since thay have to work with them every day. You want them to get along and be comfortable.
every time i watch hololive they always offer me something that they others dont, and i dont know what it quite is. i think what makes hololive special is that they feel more personal, maybe to some people in weird parasocial way, but to me they just feel like old school youtubers. dorks having fun. what helps in making them feel more personal is that the way cover approaches typical vtuber things like their alternate outfits and their songs. their songs and outfits always feel like an expression of themselves and not a cash grab. for example, their 2nd outfits are almost a casual outfit that they would wear irl. instead of adding more booba for easy views. or a high fashion gacha hero design aesthetic. and its clear that cover aren't trying to build your typical streamers like niji or vshojo. (see how much their top most subscribed talent streams)
Out of the big 3, Holo still seems like the golden standard to me. Yagoo is best girl, they have competent managers, amazing tech, and they pay fixed monthly wages. They also have learned from some of their part mistakes and dramas, and most of the drama nowadays seems to come from outside. It's hard to get into, but not impossible. Bijou, Nerissa, Fauna or Ina were all established content creators, but by no means big. If you are willing to put up with some classic idol stuff, Holo is top. Niji just seems very hit or miss. They release more waves, so you have better chances to join, but there is a huge discrepancy between what can happen. Some talents pop off and will get all the benefits while the rest gets the short end of the stick, and (EN) management is absolutely atrocious. Still not 100% sure what I should make out of VShojo. They are the right place for people like Kson, Mousy, Fruit or Henya who just wanna vibe and have their freedom, but they don't offer much in talent support and brand building in return and unless you are an already established and big name, it's impossible to get into. Might as well join Holo or Niji first. From the smaller companies, Phase Connect, Idol, Vreverie and Vdere all seem promising with their own ups and downs, but mostly positives. Might be worth a look. And then there are the WACTORS and AkiAirs... RUN
Normally big corpos can do everything the small corpos does, but just Hololive is doing everything, they even does what VShojo does. Nijisanji unfortunelly is not organized to do what Vshojo does.
Thats why i disagree when he stated that vshojo is the best, i do think holo is the best earner, kaon only wants freedom and a way to get even with her anti without getting her friends involve
The problem with the "run" factor is that talents are already in before they realize the place is an absoulte shit show. We didn't learn about Akioair until they tried to use a minor as a vtuber and we didn't realize about WACTOR until after several generations and half their talents are either on hiatus or pretty much quitting and they hard doxxed one of their talents. We didn't know about how much of a shitshow NijiEN's management was until Saiyu decided to drop her story. You can even say that Hololive was an absolute shitshow early on if we take note of the fact that Mei was being sexually harassed by either her own manager or staff or that hololive was hiring minors (One of them terminated for compensation dating) The difference between a good and bad agency is how they handle bad situations, how they view and handle their talents, and how they evolve when either the talent or management makes a mistake.
Hololive is doing really well for themselves barely any problems or drama. Aside from the Gura Drama and Calli haters. Vshojo Have it's up and down but not bad with the current state and roster. Idol EN I just can't say anything bad from how their talents and management interact with one another. Maybe where they are based maybe but other than that not bad. ProductionKawaii Overall not bad but well some drama really hurt the reputation of them. Nijisanji/Wactor/Takayaki: Like legit too much drama and problems with management. Vietnam war flashbacks. Other Vtuber companies: Not bad I can assume but you can tell me all about it. Anything goes really.
One thing with Idol is that it is hard not to feel scared that something bad will happen to the company or some of their idols, because if you know where the company and some talents are based you will understand why.
More to state Akio Air: Like I want to believe all companies can be good but this company is really bad. My HoloTV: This company is ok not too bad but I don't watch enough to say. Vspo: I heard of them but not much about them so I can't really comment. Phase Connect: Their company and talents for the most part are good but correct me if I am wrong. Again for the rest correct me if I am wrong.
for me id say myholo is good, vshojo is okay for company but not the talents (that is starting to change though) hololive is quite the high bar but plausible, nijisanji is pretty laid back but a big yikes to deal with. overall, if i hate myself to the degree of torture besides suicide, vshojo and nijisanji is gonna be hell for me. wactor andd akio? nah i rather just shoot myself
Honestly every microcorp needs to have IP rights in the model and persona go to talents after some time period, like 18 months, at least for their early waves. Startups often fail, if you acknowledge that the talents are taking a risk signing up with an unproven company by giving them something to gain even if you fail shows that you are being realistic.
Problem is that the company are the ones who pay for the model and it belongs to the company. Even if they're basically going to delete it when a person graduates, if they gave the previous person the model that model could potentially be used against the Corpo if the person decides to do that. And what risks are the talents taking if the corpo tanks? They lose their model and potentially their content? That's a far less risk than the corpo takes in which they could be facing bankruptcy.
@@Kaimine08 I think your misunderstanding my point, Startups fail, more than half the time. The talents in the first wave or two are taking on a ton of risk. It could be something that was contingent too, basically if the company doesn't grow and market enough that's their fault. In the end it will be better for any microcorp to do this, you will get better, stronger early waves and if you succeed then your talents should be making enough money they don't want to leave.
Used to think that, but the world isn't nice. Knowing there would be many taking advantage of corpos, planning to take and leave as soon as the contract is over. Easier to negotiate and buy the model from failing startups. They also can pay themselves directly to the mama for a similar avatar after leaving.
@stsin2 yeah I think the Balance would be Adding a Buyout Clause Essentially make it a Huge Price tag that is Feasibly Possible but enough to make the Talent thinking they Realistic can't Afford it within the Year of Working their.
A Vtubing company doesn't fail because their talents failed. A vtuber company fails for a myriad of reasons but generally they're not making enough money to survive. Some could say its the talents not pulling in enough revenue but it could be management squandering money or a recession or whatever. There are many reasons why a vtuber agency fails. There are 10s of thousands of vtubers. I could name maybe 50 or 60. That's not even 1%. I certainly don't have time to watch 50 or 60 vtubers so that gets condensed to maybe 5-6 vtubers streams a week. That means there are 1000s of other vtubers that aren't getting noticed by me and the same can be said for millions of people who watch vtubers. It's not that they all suck, it's just that there's so many hours of the day to actually watch vtubers. @@vonKobra
The only real good advice here is to do your research and familiarize yourself with the agency you are interested in. There are no hard and fast rules about the standards and expectations each category has and it will change with the growing vtuber landscape as it did over the last 5 years. Even among the big corpos the agency's methods and standards differ wildly. And as pointed out, the big corpos weren't even big back in 2018/19 but had the cons of a big corpo and not much else. I mean, Hololive and Cover Corp is not a nice place to work in back then. Each company's success has their own blend of factors and unseen elements from work culture to forward thinking and innovation, health and mental support outside of vtubing and so on.
The vtuber company that I don't see getting talked about in the comments is Idol_Corp. One of the best agencies to exist, the cut of revenue is great, the amount of bugdet just for debuts are insane, not that strict(according to the sh*t that Rin has done so far), the talents are great you have meme lords, (mostly)gremlins, and some chill(not always) atmosphere. I'm waiting for the male talents 👀.
It's arguable, but the reason I believe is that most people only know Rin. Rin's popularity overshadows everyone else, sort of like Nene from Kawaii productions.
I really hope they get male talents but according to their website they only plan to have female characters, even if they ever end up having a male talent behind that character
For me IdolCorp are doing a great job of combining the traditional agency with the more flexible practices of a non-standard type. They seem very flexible and upfront about talents looking after their health, and several of their talents have talked about how much freedom they have to indulge the kind of things they want to do and one who used to be an indie has even talked about how being taken up by Idol helped her rediscover her creativity and help her just be a happier person.
4.5 years of VSPO - zero graduation. 1 joined as indie vtuber retaining the identity and history; 1 direct transfer from one agency to VSPO - the first of it kind in the market.
VSPO is actually a very healthy agency in my opinion. Chill environment, funny mates, and it's so easy to branch out even to the non-vtuber community because you can join a lot of events and tournaments. Komori Met transfer is also very interesting, iirc they also recruited Akarin who is formerly an indie (cmiiw) without the need to change her avatar. The only caveat is that you have to at least be proficient in FPS to get in, they have high standards.
this is why i like it.... their pacing for debuts are good and they also make sure that personalities of each vtuber is really distinct so far since their agents are still small..... plus adding competitive gaming while lowkey being an idol is such a treat making it more human and realistic.... their collabs with certain agencies and sponsors are also dealt good Looking at their history, i really expect a lot from them as a fan since 2021..... Oreapo Teetee HAHAHAHA
I watch a couple talents from Niji, Holo, and Idol, (Enna and Maria, Amelia and Gura, and Pochi and Rin), and I definitely hope stuff stays fine for them. I really hope IDOL doesn’t do anything bad, but I have faith from how Rin talks/acts.
Idol definitely is in a great state. The fact that the talents that left aren't even in the peak of Idol says something. And the amount of budget just for the debuts are insane.
When companies are good, there is no need to fight between who is the best. When things are bad, that's when the fighting starts over who get's to be called the best among the worst.
Personally, I see VShojo as more of a Friend group that happened to get big. Edit: Or maybe it would be better to say a Friend group that also knew what they were doing and happened to get big.
I have said this before but I personally see them as a group of "friends" with legal and merchandise support, speaking of them as corpo Vtubers never sits well with me but they are still fun so who cares
It's always funny that even though VShojo presents itself as a company, acts like one, the video explains it as one and gives details on how it works, people still come out to say it's a "union" or a "coalition" based solely on the vibes they get. Organizations don't have to be demanding, controlling and greedy to the point of exploiting the talents to be companies.
I do wonder how it feels to be in a smaller corpo with that one star, who has more subs/etc than the rest of the talents combined and sometimes multiplied. Must be awkward, even if you are genuinely happy for your colleague/friend, but human emotions be damned.
I would tell you most fans have 2 different sided opinions on this idea, from a certain... "kawaii" corpo, where they don't openly discuss in public view.
It's not even small vtuber groups you can look at. Akirose and Mel from Hololive probably has the smallest sub count of their entire branch. Is the frustration there? Definitely. Aki states she does events but it feels pointless when the views weren't even close to worth the time and money she put into them. Even going so far as to say she can't ask for collabs because she feels inferior to them. (Which makes me really happy to see her doing collabs in Ark recently) Either way, still doesn't stop her from producing content. They still haven't thrown in the towel regardless of the situation.
If you want your company to have an actual chance to be successful, at least have an actual love for Vtubing, know what you doing, learn from other and don't be Wactor, AkioAir and this year Niji. The talents are crucial to the success, but if management just slip, the whole thing will collapse like a sandcastle, there are reason why Gunrun and Yagoo are so beloved and their influence stay stable for so long.
i would add another con to the non tradiotional agencies: you are a lot more vulnerable to the whims and manipulations of other memebers compared to a traditional big corpo. this isnt a problem if all of your colegues are nice people, but you cant really count on that. and of course, its true that this can happen in a big corpo as well, but generally management will have more power to try and stop it, though its not guaranteed that they will.
Regardless of the anti attacks and drama their efforts came to waste as Hololive is one of the biggest up to this day...or some might say..the most dominant Agency.
There has been plenty of unsuccessful branches in Cover. Just that the successful Hololive branch ran by A-chan greatly overshadows them. Suisei and Miko would be gone if they weren't transfered to the Hololive branch. The music branches INNK and Hope have been abandoned. Hololive shows tenacity in supporting their members and not giving up on them. When I see talents in other agencies having really low views, I get upset and ask why aren't they helping them? They are just abandoned. Hololive's many events keeps all of them in the limelight and pushes new outfits on them no matter their popularity. Allowing the many once runts of the branch climb to the top. Cover is stubborn, why they succeed where others fail. They still haven't given up on music branches and just released Dev_IS. We'll see if it succeeds or later gets absorbed into Hololive.
Miko debuted in Hololive. The only two members who started in INNK first were Suisei and Azki. Also, the only unsuccessful branch Cover had was their CN branch. Project Hope wasn't a branch (it was a wave/Gen, practically HoloEN Gen 1.5), and INNK was straight up another agency. Dev_IS is Holo's first music-focused branch, really. And, since it's a Hololive branch, it's already in Hololive.
@@marioprawirosudiro7301 Different managers and paths. Hope's manager gone with no replacement, Hope is abandoned. Miko originally joined to imitate Kizuna AI VODs. Months later absorbed into Hololive for live streaming. Dev-IS music branch is nowhere getting the success of a Hololive Gen branch. Roles and management is different.
@@stsin2 Again, they're not branches. The term "branch" means a specific thing when it comes to Hololive (and Niji too). Dev_IS is a branch, Hope is not. For an analogy, Cover is North America, Hololive is the US, INNK is Canada, Dev_IS is Texas, and Project Hope is San Francisco. Well, at least that's how it started. But then Canada became the 51st state of the US...
And what about STARS? Say whatever you want they for all intense and purposes are basically abandoned by Cover and are basically there own company at this point.
@@brandonhowell5096Stars still gets help from Cover to have promotion and events. If Cover abandoned them then there will be no more about that, no new gen, no new branch, no 3D events, and no Stars basically what happened to holoCN.
I mean... I put it into two types. The eastern Jimosho. Where you work that agency much like how a jpop idol or kpop star is. You sign your life away and you're micromanaged in how you behave and what creative direction you are in and need to ask permission if you so much as wanna fart (plus they take at least 50%). But you get a whole bunch of prestige from the brand alone. A whole lot of marketing push (if you actually hit it off and worth the cost of promoting). And a whole bunch of business connections (still out of your personal pocket tho). And... none of what you make is yours. But if you're a nobody. Its a great place to start (hint-hololive and nijisanji rarely actually hire nobodies). But despite all these annoyances, you can earn big despite the 50 take and is far more stable and reliable. And you got the western type Talent agency. Which is primarily in a similar way to an actors agent. Their job is to give you sponsorship deals primarily but also gigs in events like comic con. They help out in merch deals too. They take a 30% cut or less. And so don't really have much to do with the actual creative work or marketing. Therein lies the crux of the whole thing. You need to already be established and worth promoting to sponsors. This is perfectly fine as an ex-jimosho as objectively the deal is much better. You earn more and you should already have the resources you need to operate independently. Or otherwise independent from the start. Both have pros and cons. But I clearly have my bias.
If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles--Sun tzu you have to know yourself and the company you try to get in.
As SEA ppl (especially ID where some big corpos tried to experiment b4 went international), I see the only big name that stay in this country is Hololive. - NijiID frickin erased like Thanos thus leading most fans (even nonfans) nation-wide(?) holding grudge to the company. - Vshojo has very little or almost non-existence fanbase (bruh with our internet connection, watching Twitch? u serious?) - The rest are small indie local corpo/friend/friend-based group who tried their luck when Vtuber broke the mainstream market. They had a rise when Covid still a thing, but slowly most of them died down because drama or lack of support. Some tried the "short" and TikTok meta. Heck most indie/small corp Vtuber even trying the "hybrid" style (50% vtuber 50% irl stream) to slowly shifting their fame and fanbase from their character to their real life self.

@@VindyCh. As of this comment. Mika is in a collab with RPR, other indies and Froot. So I can see her going in either direction after graduation from the black company.
Mika is 100% leaving, the question is whether she will last *a year* or few months. VTuber market is already shrinking overall (don't be fooled by Hololive growth, it was because the new fanbase abandoned the small doomed companies). Niji has no future, because they're so shit in thinking long term.
Really love Vspo!. it's not perfect and made mistakes before but at least the company is now taking action against slander(albeit only locally). They recently had a unicorn who slandered their talents to settle by writing an oath not to slander vspo members again and pay financially for damages. The talents does great content since it's a good balance of actual gameplay and entertainment. It might be hard to apply there though cause I heard the screening is strict and applicants has to have a certain level of skills in competitive games since the agency was established to be a blend of vtubing and esports so I wonder if they'll hold the same standard for their upcoming EN branch
Yeah VSPO is the real one of big 3 of vtuber agency, too bad they have little audience outside Japan so you rarely see they are mentioned, just hope they succeed they're en branch
Isn’t Hololive considered a massive business now. They own tons of different things. I’ve never heard anything horrible about hololive, other than normal business type crashes. Rumored drama that has been settled and a company that learns from its mistakes, it seems like they have it locked down for now.
In the early days there was quite a lot of bad stuff, mostly due to inexperience. Nowadays it seems the restrictions that are put on the talents are able to keep them out of trouble for the most part.
Thank u so much for talking about this! As a start up pre Vtuber whos been working hard for months to become one im glad i got know which ones are the best of what i can and cannot join if that ever happens, thank u man for the vid! Well done!
The nice thing about the big corpos is that they are essentially handing you an audience on a silver platter, so even if you end up leaving (on good terms of course) you will still have that audience following you.
What would you categorize Vtuber groups that has the backing of a massive company but the vtube itself is not as successful? Sony Music Vee comes to mind
Can you post the names of the vtubers in your videos when they show up? Think thatd be great exposure for them, i see some great models but like literally cant find em
at the end of the day these companies had the same goal is to entertain and give positive vibes in this sometimes evil and sad world we live in just my opinion
There are also companies that arent vtuber agencies, but hire vtubers to regularly sppnsor and advertise their games and gives them support, like Playasia
Thank you DP. May i suggest if you put the name of the Vtuber that is in a clip - they look interesting but i dont know who they are. Keep up the good research.
What would Mythic count as? They're not a Vtuber agency but they have Sinder, Shylily, Chibidoki, Camila, Filian, Fefe, Nyanners, Katiekat, Silvervale, Vei and others and they all seem really cool, the only creator I'm not good with them having is Nux Taku given his many, many controversies and dodgy behaviour
It's a western agency always been. Let me elaborate. VShojo is western talent agency but vtuber exclusive. Mythic Talent is western talent agency but streamer exclusive (flesh streamer + Vtuber). UTA (united talent) is western talent agency they have Vtuber, Streamer, actor, comedian, athlete. This always been western models. Talent freedom is always there. The one who owns the IP is talent. The agency more like "agent" of the talent, not agency that "owns" the talent. So, when nousagi says that VShojo is "corpos" i kinda disagree with that notion. Unlike holo and niji, the talent pays their own models while holo and niji "makes" the models. The merch cut is very generous the agency not even taking half of the income, their cut is more of a "fee" than cut. And they didnt even take superchat and membership cuts. The idol agency is just exclusive to jp corpos, and sometimes their business models copied to the west like idol corp, phase connect, etc. But for some weird reason people lump VShojo as comparable to hololive and nijisanji and always criticize them why not do the same business models like hold audition, censor their talent, giving punishment etc. VShojo won't do that because they dont own the talents, and they won't do audition either because they are not school. Probably because vshojo is famous people kinda lump them similar as jp corpos.
looking at all these agencies, standards and requirements I realize that I am a typical Vtubers fan whose wet dream is to be like them It has always been my dream to stand on stage and let my emotions resound so that others can feel them with me. I'm a little desperate in my dream to give people happiness and make them feel at least a little bit understood by trying to put all of myself into it, but I know that I'm like thousands of other people who have the same dream as me, and only 5 people out of thousands of others who have the same ambition get into the agency. I also know that no agency will allow me to express my emotions and myself and give me freedom through restrictions, but I feel that I want to live up to it even though I am like any other person with this kind of dreams. Nevertheless, I am happy that there are people who have achieved my dreams and make others happy.

Hololive: Golden standard despite the higher restrictions. Difficult to join but they appreciate tenacity. Top tier management. Great support. Must be able to sing or willing to learn. Nijisanji: Less restrictive. Haphazard managements. Gone downhill throughout this year but maybe it’ll get better. MAYBE. Easier to join. At least compared to Hololive. Might need to invest in singing as well. Support can be inconsistent. Vshoujo: The least restrictive if at all. Stream on twitch. Get popular. Talk to all the talents. Get them to like you. Get their CEO to like you. Then maybe you’ll be invited. Zero management. Focus more on advertising. Running better with newer additions for now. I'm interested in becoming a male vtuber for Hololive. Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the standard pay rate is for one and standard work week?
About NijiEN I think we always just hears the bad news but rarely hears the good news. Recently Ethyria had their 2nd aniversary and chat asked them if Nijisanji lived up to their expectations and they said it has been better then they expected.
Well yeah, considering the state of their company's public perception, it's to be expected that they would start putting in more effort so that more of them don't hop ship and to fix their image. Niji doing better on one thing isn't redemption, it's the bare minimum.
@@royraven2186 No, it has nothing to do with that. In regards of VShojo recruitment, instead subcount and connection probably potential meet and greet audience. so, when they do meet and greet is not just less than 8 people showed up. Well big audience probably help for estimation, but for vtuber that have less subs/follower they have to test that themselves (GEEGA at offkai). If just connection is enough, Zentreya has collab a lot of indies vtuber left and right, on and off stream. I don't think just have connections is enough for joins. I dont think VShojo is as nepo as people claim. And probably thats the reason why VShojo havent recruit more Japan vtuber yet, there is few big indies vtuber on twitch like Akami karubi and nacho dayo that should be headhunted by now, but nothing happens. I have no idea about JP culture in regards of meet and greet, even on Hololive usually hololive EN and ID who do meet and greet and all of them outside Japan. Henya is special case, because she is dual language and big enough, so she has tons of queue during her last meet and greet, and that's happen on USA. It's a shame about Nazuna, if VShojo can host meet and greet for her in Japan, probably her situation will be better.
@@AstraAnima what does the guy above think of the fact that Enna and Millie who have been lifelong friends of Elira just happened to pass auditions at the same time? VShojo CEO is Justin Ignacio aka Gunrun, who is one of the founding members of Twitch. He can make things happen on Twitch with just a phone call. Twitch has a support group that is dedicated to support VShojo members and pretty much ready to attend to their needs. And because VShojo runs a much smaller cast of Vtubers, they get a lot of support from management and technical support.

It'll be a cold day in hell when Nijisanji is even considered a good agency
There is always a bigger fishman
Most start ups take years to become reliably profitable. Cover wasn't even started as a vtuber agency, it is something that grew out of an experiment. One small company that I came to respect was Tsunderia. They eventually admitted that they didn't have the resources to support the talents and decided to close and let everyone keep their assets so they could keep going on their own.
I really miss Tsunderia. It's so sad that they were the early adopters, but collapsed right before the EN VT wave really took off
man i was the og tsuderia at that time,
my oshi is chikafuji lisa.
i love the time where they do collabs with other members🥲
I'm a Vshojo stan, but speaking of other agencies that don't get much attention, Kawa Entertainment seems good from a casual looking in.
You got yourself a new subscriber
I think back to CDawg talking (and kind of shitting) on people who join agencies, saying they have no talent when i think about agencies. A big benefit to it, so it seems, is that sometimes you just need better resources than the ones you have, and that's where joining an agency seems to be legitimately the best option.
Naturally its a more stable gig than going solo (props to you by the way, keep it up!) and you gain more solid resources, managers to keep you afloat, and access to a social circle of individuals in varying levels of being in the same position.
@@vincenttorrijos9680
CDawg never said that agency vtubers have no talent. He was talking about a hypothetical vtuber who got into a company like Hololive without any talent. She would still begin at a significant advantage due to exposure to and loyalty of existing fans.

How sad will you be when everyone in IdolES speaks English all the time anyways?
Idk man, I feel like that's kinda cope. The English market isn't even as big as the JP market, and I don't see the Spanish market being bigger than EN

I mean, I’ve auditioned to a multitude of VTuber agencies and the only one I managed to get into was because of the fact of that they had an audition process where everyone could get in yet they would effectively abandon you and leave you to your own devices, all while defending their actual talents, I think I’ve auditioned for about 20 different agencies and that was the only one I got into, I either got no response back, I told I didn’t make it, didn’t even make it to auditions, I just pretty much got shafted since I’m a nobody
and FWMC had to audition several times, even separately
Hololive is killing it and none of their talent have become react channels like a lot of indy and other agency V-tubers have. Cover really has an eye for exceptional talent.
Most of them have same-ish content but their personalities are the major differentiating factor. It may be the same game but the hilarity that ensues on their experiences helps keeps it fresh.
Good catch. Even Ironmouse becoming like asmongold. Sitting and reacting to videos for 4 hours.
true, but hololive is the opposite spectrum in that theres no creative passion at all. its just a job at that point, are you really watching hololive member for them or for how the company wants them to act and stream?
VSPO seems pretty cool too I've seen a few of them because of their various interactions with Hololive members through all the different VCR servers

every time i watch hololive they always offer me something that they others dont, and i dont know what it quite is.
i think what makes hololive special is that they feel more personal, maybe to some people in weird parasocial way, but to me they just feel like old school youtubers. dorks having fun.
what helps in making them feel more personal is that the way cover approaches typical vtuber things like their alternate outfits and their songs. their songs and outfits always feel like an expression of themselves and not a cash grab. for example, their 2nd outfits are almost a casual outfit that they would wear irl. instead of adding more booba for easy views. or a high fashion gacha hero design aesthetic.
and its clear that cover aren't trying to build your typical streamers like niji or vshojo. (see how much their top most subscribed talent streams)
They dont feel generic
I kinda agree with you. They just feel different and very wholesome to watch.
Phase on the rise, love to see it.
RUN
Gura was big, quite big
You can even say that Hololive was an absolute shitshow early on if we take note of the fact that Mei was being sexually harassed by either her own manager or staff or that hololive was hiring minors (One of them terminated for compensation dating)
The difference between a good and bad agency is how they handle bad situations, how they view and handle their talents, and how they evolve when either the talent or management makes a mistake.

Re:Act is asl good
Is idolEN a bad company ?😅

Phase remains, to me, the best of the bunch right now.
Fishman seems like pretty competent businessman and CEO behind the scene.
I like a couple of their talents, specifically what i call the "brat pack" (Fuyo, Yuyu, Coni, and Riro)
Idol has officially declared there are zero plans to introduce male talents, like ever.

Congratulations, glad to hear you're happy! VSPO's who "deal" is competitive gaming, isn't it? Not really familiar with them.
The only caveat is that you have to at least be proficient in FPS to get in, they have high standards.
this is why i like it.... their pacing for debuts are good and they also make sure that personalities of each vtuber is really distinct so far since their agents are still small..... plus adding competitive gaming while lowkey being an idol is such a treat making it more human and realistic.... their collabs with certain agencies and sponsors are also dealt good
Looking at their history, i really expect a lot from them as a fan since 2021.....
Oh dayum, what a nostalgic things to see 😅

When companies are good, there is no need to fight between who is the best.
When things are bad, that's when the fighting starts over who get's to be called the best among the worst.
Personally, I see VShojo as more of a Friend group that happened to get big.
Edit: Or maybe it would be better to say a Friend group that also knew what they were doing and happened to get big.
Vshojo is a coalition. Each of the girls owns their IP and can leave whenever they want. Almost more of a union than an actual corp per se.
I have said this before but I personally see them as a group of "friends" with legal and merchandise support, speaking of them as corpo Vtubers never sits well with me but they are still fun so who cares
@@Charles_Drakkan yea me too. I never get corpo vibe from them, they always feel indie to me.
@@guilguis4820 Just the fact that VShojo produces merch made it a company on its own. Call it advertising or support company, doesn't matter.
@@Kaimine08that’s crazy they feel inferior when still they have almost a millions subs each

Is it possible to get a video on Idol ? Since they have an interesting origin from all the Vtuber companies.
I wish PixelLink to get bigger and better in the future. The talents are such a bunch of sweethearts, i really wish them nothing but the best.
I don't know what to comment, mostly i agree with your points.
this didnt age well
You know Phase and Idol have only 2 vtubers each over 100k Idol others sit around 50k and phase other sit around 20k

- NijiID frickin erased like Thanos thus leading most fans (even nonfans) nation-wide(?) holding grudge to the company.
- Vshojo has very little or almost non-existence fanbase (bruh with our internet connection, watching Twitch? u serious?)
- The rest are small indie local corpo/friend/friend-based group who tried their luck when Vtuber broke the mainstream market.

Yaaaay, new video 🥺
looking at all these agencies, standards and requirements I realize that I am a typical Vtubers fan whose wet dream is to be like them
It has always been my dream to stand on stage and let my emotions resound so that others can feel them with me.
