Traveling Wilburys on Not Being So Serious, Technology, Why Dylan is "Lucky", Harrison, Petty, Lynne

- In 1988 five legends spanning multiple decades and music genres came together to form a supergroup. They brought a sense of humor to music at a time when some musicians were taking themselves a bit too seriously. The band forbade technology in their recordings. They called themselves the 'Traveling Wilburys'.

Traveling Wilburys were a great band!
I still love them! Incredible super-group!
Absolutely the power of the universe that brought together, through Mr. Harrison, the Traveling Wilburys.😎👍👍
History in the making and proof that the universe has great taste😉👍👍
Five buddies hanging out for a few weeks creating a classic album out of scratch.
Even the name of the band is a joke, a play on a phrase used in the studio when an artist or producer or engineer doesn’t want a cough or a burp or a dropped harmonica to ruin an otherwise good take: “We’ll bury it in the mix.”
Looks good without glasses George always modest
The cream of the crop.
What a fantastic video have a wonderful weekend freewheeling also happy independence day to the United states alalso Canada day is Monday where I live ❤😊
Thanks you too!
Ha JD Robert's of CITY TV's New Music show from Toronto interviewing Petty 😂
Petty...musta looked around and said ,well, im in a band with Dylan,Roy Orbinson and a Beatle. Wtf???
Cliff Richard’s 🤣🤣🤣
George was a killer lead player not just rhythm guy
Tom Petty was signed to Shelter Records ( Founded by Leon Russell ) & when the label folded much to his dismay the distributor MCA became the holder of his contract. He wanted to be a free agent & sign a new more lucrative contract.
Telling you.. Johnny Winter and Roy look alike
Roy bears a strong resemblance to Johnny Winter. Just noticed.
Bob Dylan was from Hibbing, MN
He moved there after he was born. I just listed their birth location.
Good music, but I have to ignore some dark history in order to enjoy it - e.g. the image of Petty punching a hole in a wall (and fracturing his wrist); Harrison verbally trashing most of Paul McCartney's later work; Dylan's frequent, casual cruelties to Phil Ochs. On the other hand, I've known folks who worked with Orbison and Dylan, and who had only good things to say about them as co-performers.
I don’t think Bob Dillon brought humour to anything! 😏
Wilburys are greater than the Beatles.
Nonsense, you know it.
Big Wilbury fan here.
@@Thomas-xs2kq Just kidding
George Harrison was right Roy Orbison is cool
that was Tara Browne as George

2024 dear god they are all dead except Jeff....how crazy is that?
I think Bob might be a little dismayed to hear that.
I I discussed an idea with Roger McGuinn that he should join the Wilburys and take on the role of George Harrison on the 12th string; Chris Isaak could do the Roy Orbison parts since he’s got the same kind of voice Bob Seger could do the Tom Petty vocals.
The surviving members of the original set would be Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne.
@@RexxSchneiderit’s funny because Jeff Lynne is the ghost in the industry.
The guy has a career that’s insane.
They didn’t know Bob but knew Jeff.
@@RexxSchneider Original Zim died back in the sixties....Motorbike crash
Don't tell Bob Dylan that, he may just drop dead.
Petty...musta looked around and said ,well, im in a band with Dylan,Roy Orbinson and a Beatle. Wtf???
