  • My 2003 zr-2 s-10 Chevy has a radio that turn on but don’t play no sound and I opened it up and only had two wire connected so I though they where just not touching anymore so I I cut the wires and re splice them together in turn on the radio which didn’t put no sound out so I started watching videos and I couldn’t find but one video to have the same problem and it didn’t work for me so I tryed connecting the wires suck as the white wires together and it started to work so I did it for all and my radio started to put out sound.

    Still learning, well you got to start some where. Obviously, you got it working and didn't quit. That's good, you'll know more next time when you fix another one!

    Hopefully by now you've found out that the remote wire is not a wire that enables your remote control. I don't see any comments stating what it is exactly so I'll be the first to inform anybody who doesn't know. The blue (rarely blue and white striped) wire is a signal wire. It's primary function is to send a signal from the aftermarket stereo unit to an aftermarket amplifier. You'll find that sometimes amplifier manufactures will literally label that port "remote".

      So what if you got a stock amplifier does that work too?

    • @deevoe29
      @deevoe29 2 роки тому

      @@jkid9d99 if you have a stock amplifier you will need to buy a line converter or an lc2 all the way up to an lc8. That would be depending on what you are trying to connect and how are you trying to connect it. But you only need the line converter if you're going to run a stock stereo. You only need an lc2 or anything higher if you're going to be using a stock radio along with trying to connect the door speakers. If you're just trying to run a subwoofer you could use a line converter or an lc2.

    Yeah. I'm glad your problem was the installer not knowing what he was doing. Mine is finding to wire that powers the amp. I've looked on the internet and no luck. So the next thing is a jumper wire ith a needle to touch to unused wires in the wiring adapter

    Hahahaha almost sounds like you're being sarcastic. "I saw all these other wires weren't connected, so I looked in my other truck and they were all connected" haha fuck.

    I dont understand what you mean by "they weren't connected". Were those wires not connected to the radio?? Who would have unplugged them individually but not the others? It's not easy to only take out some wires but not all of them, so this really confused me

      Hey Luca Capperucci! When I mentioned by some wires warn’t connected only the front speakers was connected and not the back and some others wires warn’t connected and the colors warn’t correct so I had to organize them and mess with them and understand what certain wires had to do. Sorry for the confusion I should of made a better video but I hope you got an idea and fixed your situation

    Did you install new speakers and wire did you accidentally put a screws through one of the wires or one of your speakers shorted out test the stereo with the remote speaker you know works and then connect them one at a time if one of the speakers knocks the system out when you connect it you know you have a short in that wire

  • @ronb918

    The "remote wire" is a signal wire for a amplifier. Not the remote control for the stereo

    I'm confused as hell on what you achieved here. "not connected", "didn't have an adapter" .... What on earth are you trying to say here? I mean it seems to me to sum up this video was, "You and the last person didn't know shit what yall were doing so you youtubed and found out there's instructions on the speaker wires so you bought a metra kit, matched the wires and plugged it in".

      Hey TW Porter I’m sorry if you’re confused I’m not a big truck/radio person so I just learn on the way when I fix stuff so what I did was when I searched up videos they didn’t have the same problem as me so I was just getting ideas and experimenting with the wires and they warn’t color coded correctly until I organized it and started connecting them. I should of been more specific but there are better tutorials out there. Hopefully you probably got an idea on what to do.
