    Can you at least have some medication to ease your pain ?

    • @SamanthaL
      @SamanthaL  11 місяців тому +47

      So I actually haven't explained this in a video yet, but my biggest issue is that I'm not allowed to take much anti-inflammatory medication (like ibuprofen) because of my back surgery. I have morphine and tylenol, but tylenol doesn't really work well for this. Morphine (and other drugs like it) cause side effects for me that make me not want to take it often, so I only use it if I'm in severe pain

      @@SamanthaLhave you ever tried tramadol? I’ve been on it for nearly twenty years for chronic pain, and it doesn’t make me loopy or drowsy like other narcotics. It may not relieve all of your pain, but it will take the edge off.

      @@SamanthaL I'm praying that you go look up Dr. Thomas Seyfried video's on UA-cam. Pray for wisdom and discernment. Albert Einstein said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome. If I had cancer I'd do what Dr. Thomas Seyfried is saying to do for cancer. I wish I had known about his treatment plan because I have lost so many friends and family to cancer and the harmful chemo and radiation and bone marrow treatments they took that didn't work .The great part of his plan is that it makes the body healthier as it starves the cancer cells . Another thing is that it doesn't cost much.
      Dr. Seyfried is a professor at Boston College. He has been studying how cancer cells grow and what they need to survive. He has been showcased on many channels on UA-cam by doctors and cancer specialists who think outside the box.
      Do you want to live and raise your daughter? Be bold and be smart and be creative. Just please go listen to Dr. Thomas Seyfried. PLEASE.
      God Bless.

    Before too many people start suggesting soups and herbs-please note that patients on clinical trials are tightly regulated so that their data is not compromised by external factors. What Samantha is doing here not only helps her but generations of patients to come. Kudos to all who volunteer for clinical trials! It takes courage and commitment.

    This video really helped me understand how complex this process is. I had no idea even tho both my mom and dad died of cancer. My mom was only 29 ( I was 4 and oblivious) and my dad mid 70’s and he opted for no treatment. Please take care of yourself, your precious daughter and your husband. Cancer is hell. This information is for anyone in the comment section. So many of us have had cancer touch our lives. Soon one in two people will get cancer. Did you know that 1600 people die everyday in America from cancer. More and more people are getting cancer and the survival rate is just as bad as it has ever been.
      Now everyone go look up Dr. Thomas Seyfried on UA-cam. He has many video's and a plan to starve cancer cells in a safe and none injuring/poisoning way.

He got anywhere from 2 to 4 different chemos 2x a day for anywhere from 5 days to 10 days. He usually slept through the first 2 or 3 days, and then it was as if nothing was going on. His second round, the chemo dodnt seem to affect him at all. The drs were amazed. I pray that Samantha tolerates her treatment well.

    Very glad you're on the way in your treatment plan. I've had to stop Arimidex. Night sweats, and weight gain. So, I'm "washing out" for 30 days. All of that is enough, but this weird lump in my throat is that proverbial straw that broke the camel. Depressed. And will soon start a new drug to protect my brain. Can't believe people do this for decades. Thank you Samantha, for the good information. ☀

    I don’t have cancer (yet although74 years old) but every thing I’ve read says cancer feed on sugar…in fact just before each Scan they give you a sweet sugary drink which stimulates the cancer cells so they can be detected. So it seems eliminating a lot of sweets and sugary drinks might help slow it’s progression. Best of luck and we’re praying for you

    • @SamanthaL
      @SamanthaL  10 місяців тому

      Thank you! All cells feed on sugar. Cancer cells use more sugar than regular cells and so they light up brighter on a scan, but it is a myth that eating less sugar slows down the growth of cancer.

    I’m so happy for you that you won the coin toss on a new combination therapy trial, exciting news! I’m in a lot of pain myself, was shocked when pain happened almost overnight for me at age 64, including plantar fasciitis in one heel that evolved into neuropathy, that feels like a constantly buzzing vibration from my heel all the way up my calf and even further up that right side. When I tried twice weekly B-Complex, to treat the neuropathy, that caused severe migraine that caused me to vomit up gel-coated over-the-counter aspirin/acetaminophen/ caffeine combination pills I needed to take for the migraine, but vomiting was even more painful. About one hour after vomiting I feel much better though, as though some of the analgesic made it into my system.

    Hey Samantha,
    I fully realize that we all react to meds in different ways; however, as someone who has also hated the way some pain meds made me feel, I found that the short-acting opioids (Dilaudid/hydromorphone, 4mg., or oxycodone, 5-10mg) worked extremely well on my pain while not making me drowzy.
    I took them only when needed and never exceeded the recommended daily dosage.
    Gabapentin (used for nerve pain, is widely prescribed for a whole slew of various issues) ... was the one that I had the most noticeable issues with (it's not even even a narcotic). It gave me nightmares and, after the first night, it didn't do anything positive, except cause restlessness.
    Fortunately, I am at this moment NED, so and the only medication I now occasionally take is Tylenol; but I'm going back for tests on Nov.21/23 ... so it doesn't ever seem to be over.
    Keeping my fingers crossed for you and your family!
    ❤❤❤

    • @SamanthaL
      @SamanthaL  11 місяців тому

      That’s great that you found something that works for you! I found that oxycodone has absolutely no effect on me at all. It doesn’t make me drowsy but it also does nothing for my pain haha. Dilaudid made me drowsy but did not work as well for pain as morphine. That’s how I ended up with that one. So glad you’re NED and hope it stays that way!

    My husband was diagnosed with cancer two months ago. He’s 77 and this Wednesday he will have his second round of chemo. He has shaved his head for decades, so we’re wondering how he wil look without eyebrows! I told him I’ll pencil them in… lol.
    Two months ago he was painting the house and remodelling the kitchen. Now, just sitting for a shower exhausts him. But he’s getting stronger.
