Us natives fight so hard to keep our language alive and it crazy to see how a lot of Mexican adopt Spanish then thier true language . I 🫡 this man for being truly holistic on not letting it just die

A lot of Mexicans have more Spanish ancestry than native ancestry compared to other Mexicans who have more native DNA.

@@josealberto4587the majority of Mexicans DNA consist of more ameri Indian DNA than European. I'm not sure where you got your info but if you look at actual stats you'll see for yourself that the average Mexican is more native than anything. There's more pure Native Americans in Mexico than anywhere else 😂 even if some only speak Spanish. Spanish is Just a language just like English, speaking English doesn't make everyone English men 😂😂

The nahuatl speakers back in Mexico after the conquest with all do respect didn't name any tribes that was what they called them tribes. The Mexicas and the triple alliance were the ones in charge of the valley of Mexico that's why the government used the nahuatl language and they named most tribes in nahuatl. Even the Apache is a nahua name and the Comanches too if not mistaken and their from the southwest and some names are a mix of Spanish and Nahuatl cus the Spaniards couldn't pronounce the names right. All this is mostly common knowledge to the indigenous people in Mexico. There's some good videos on the templo Mayor in el DF on UA-cam in Spanish once you find them videos them guys get in to a bunch of other videos on Mexico City and alot is on the mexica after that the videos don't stop popping up. Shout out to the Tarahumara, the Yaqui, Huichol, purépecha and the Southwest tribes and every tribe that our people come from. Literally if we want to get back to our roots and language every one is gana have to take their own trip and find out who we really are not just round it up to one tribe thats ignoring your own heritage. All that depends on what part of Mexico and what tribes are around there, but that can also open up a can of worms trying to pin point.

Homogenization of Aztec identity happen way before Chicanos or the Mexican government. It started back when the church was trying to homogenize the language and social formats so they could easier convert other nations/peoples. Plus, people forget that the “Aztecs“ held sway over the majority of what we now know as Mexico, so all people had to know each other’s language, and in turn significant parts of other tribes cultures as well, especially the Aztec Mexica. It bothers me when people try to act like these nations in Mexico developed in a vacuum. They were all reflecting and sharing, creating and learning from each other.

    What makes someone a Chicano?
Chicano, identifier for people of Mexican descent born in the United States. The term came into popular use by Mexican Americans as a symbol of pride during the Chicano Movement of the 1960s. Cesar Chavez. Feminine form: Chicana.

That's the popular belief but I wouldn't be surprised if it went back farther to the conquest days in Mexico like mestizo, mulatto. Not saying it's a fact but would be nice to find out for sure with fact instead of Google images. Wouldn't be surprised if I found out it was a nahuatl word mispronounced in Spanish like so many other words the Spaniards could say. And of course to find out the meaning

@Lazyone Apache is a Aztec word from what I've read and I wouldn't doubt if they're primos and it's a fact that the Aztecs came from the southwest. But Aztec dancer's do dance in the Gathering of the Nations Pow Wow a tour where a lot of native tribes get together to dance and they come every year to Albuquerque NM. There a bunch of videos on UA-cam.

If you look at the Mexica History they burned their codex books to take parts from others to rewrite their history.
