A treaty to end the Korean War is about to be signed, but tensions between enemy forces are still high. Capt. Tombolo (John Goddard), who heads a combat unit with a shaky reputation, orders a pointless, dangerous final patrol, and steps on a "Bouncing Betty," a land mine that explodes only after pressure on it is released. Despite his deep resentment for Tombolo, Cpl. Sharack (Jack Ging), the unit's finest soldier, begins mulling over ways to save his commanding officer from certain doom.

What became of the American corporal who had saved the American captain?
I am a South Korean who always thanks American soldiers for having helped us in Korean War .
I would live as a slave under the dictatorship of North Korea if they had not helped South Korea at that time .

Oh my goodness her post of this. Thank you so much. What an enjoyable little suspenseful movie no cussing no sex no tourist violence just the upload shots of a man acting. They don’t make drama movies like they did in the 50s anymore. This was a very believable little war movie thank you so much.

WOW - wotta GREAT war movie, and all because of pretty fantastic acting by the main cohort, and while NOT a new plot, they PUSHED IT to another level, and it really came together. KInda cerebral, YET action packed ! A rare gem. All on a low budget. Wow...

Maybe no "John Wayne's, Clint Eastwood's or Jimmy Stewart's" but several of the actors, such as cooking and others had great careers. One, the actor that played Pumphrey, had a pretty good career as a young man in the late 30's into the 40's and 50's. If you still Google the car if Sniper Ridge you can see them and click their pic for the Wikipedia link for them. The guy that played Tonto was the same guy that played Manolito oh The High Chaparral. Just saying.

Thank God I missed him by 2 inches and I only got 1 moth jail , that I didn't even serve because they never gave to me, any days off, of the one moth that I was entitled as a soldier. I had 2 really rough years in my whole service, that I 'll never forget.

I served as a Company Commander in the 10th MTN. We deployed to Mogadishu with the Marines in early '93. I have seen fear in people's eyes in training and combat ( or what they thought was combat). I could never live up to the stories my grandfather told from WW I. Or my uncle in Korea. But, I have seen men and women crack, in other units and I mean, cocoa for cocoa puffs crazy. It is weird. I ended up confronting the other company commander at the freaking airport walking around in his underwear and his 9mm saying he was going to kill the old man (BN CDR).And he didn't see half of what some of my soldier's saw. I loved my soldier they were the best I could ever ask for.

A pretty accurate depiction of what really occurred in many instances. When men were drafted they didn't automatically buy into the military "rah rah". In fact, there were many instances of rather dumb officers being shot by their own men. War was not the disciplined arena but a general free for all when things started to go sideways. This movie successfully captures the essence of that experience.

A common misconception prevailed that the S-mine would not detonate until its victim stepped off the trigger. This fallacy was propagated by incorrect United States propaganda during World War II. The mine would detonate whether the trigger was released or not. Standing still or attempting to run from the S-mine would be equally dangerous. The most effective way to survive the mine's detonation would not be to flee but to fall to the ground lying face down as quickly as possible.

I had already started on a comment about the military behaviour in this film and then realised that for the sake of the story they had to behave completely differently to the real military, and that is completely forgivable given that they cast and crew are not Hollywood “A” listers, but are making a great film that owes that to them, and I would imagine that the budget wasn’t too big either, hats off to them all.
There seems to be a intriguing subplot concerning the Sgt and the newly arrived Cpl that somehow involves the Capt, something from the WWII theatre’s of operations, whatever it is, if it’s a subplot, I hope that it explained soon, my eyelids are drooping and I don’t want to miss the action, I know I can watch it again but I prefer to get all the way through first time 🕰️ around.
I got my explanation, it is a good twist in the story. I wonder why nobody heard the Korean soldier creeping up on the NFG (New F…..g Guy), if the audience could hear it then the NFG and the rest of the patrol should have as well, even more so when they were fighting.

Truman had to make up for not intervening in 1949 chinese civil war so korea was chosen!

@@angloaust1575 the war was MacArthur’s fault. He ignored Red China’s warning. Similar to arrogant USA and Ukraine war today

      Macarthur didn't choose the war
Truman did and when he tried to win it he was recalled and ridgeway
Took over and caused a stalemate
There is no substitute for victory
      Was macs parting words!

!!!!!!!!! OK FOR A "B" MOVIE & THE TIME IT WAS MADE !!!!!!!!! FROM MY CHECKING ON THE KOREAN WAR > CONFLICT > POLICE ACTION >> EVEN THOUGH THE PEACE ACCORD WAS SIGNED > THERE WAS STILL A LOT OF CRAP THAT HAPPENED BY THE THE COMMUNISTS > OF COURSE !!!!!!!!! BUT MOST OF ALL > MACARTHUR SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN IN CHARGE & IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN WORSE IF THE TROOPS HAD NOT CROSSED THE 38th PARALLEL !!!!!!!!!! +/- !!!!!!!!! PLUS A FEW OTHER PROBLEMS INVOLVING TROOP NUMBERS > EXPERIENCE > ATTITUDE > LOGISTICS > ETC !!!!!!!!!!! HHOOAAHH TO ALL WHO SERVED & THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE & RIP TO ALL WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE !!!!!!!!!!!
