  • Flight is a 1929 American pre-Code adventure and aviation film directed by Frank Capra. These old black and white movies ae great, even after 96 years. Good movie about the early marine aviation and its glory. Thanks for this classic movie.

Just the fact that this film is nearly one hundred years old and we are watching it is kinda mind blowing in it’s own. Everyone in this film has been deceased for some time, and yet we can see them as they were nearly one hundred years ago.

Corny as they were I love these old period movies. No CGI, just those grand old aircraft in all their glory. Thank you for posting.

My Dad was a Marine aviation mechanic during Korea, retired as a GySgt, he would have loved this movie. Sempi Fi!

Excellent vintage film reflecting the early years of USMC aviation and their involvment in the banana wars of Central America. The only one to my knowledge to exist.

Bananas are bad to eat or make war over. Nutritional and political junk.

Always liked Frank Capra films. I think the script mirrored the spe patterns of the day. Today ai don't think "Sambo". Would have been used today. But then restroom attendents are rarely seen today.

Love to see old films about the services especially how so many things progress. Watching them cranking up the motor as that thing that looked like a sock.. listening to bugles as the flag is lowered. Ive heard the call at the Lemoore Navel AirStation. One bugle and I'll bet it's a recording.

This movie and Dirigible, another Capra film are my favorite period films. Jack Holt is in the latter as well.

Am instructor would never send you up to solo unless they're pretty sure you can do the landing, and certainly the takeoff

Was it constant gun fire or is it a glitch in the sound track? What ever, it is forgiven. Oh those lady’s bonnets and of course, the aeroplanes!

A Marine is not a soldier. When he said that.... I know that every Marine who heard that call.. Hey Soldier cringed.

The dialogue was awful, but films had just come out of the silent era so that could be forgiven. I believe those biplanes they were flying over "Nicaragua" were Curtiss O2C's. A rare glimpse into 1920's aviation that we don't see too often. And how about that Sambo remark? A little glimpse into 1920's racism too.

We use to eat at Sambos restaurants. No one complained unless they were a woos! And Aunt Jemima panckes were rated as one of the best.. Real people would say get over your emotional outburst.

@Please tell me that the simple statement that I wrote, isn't what you are calling "an emotional outburst." I was just noting an interesting view of the times that the film was made. Your little piece , there, was closer to an "emotional outburst " than what I wrote.

@PoochAndBoo like i said that was a response that was used for those that lacked wisdom reason and self control. In other words we just didn't waste our time on negative bs. In those days jokes abound in polish , Italian, all races. But when it came down to battle we all defended each other.
