I believe Tuomas said this song is an anthem for human emphatie. And same time a love letter to Floor and to Hannes Van Dahl(Floors husband). They got married very soon after Floor was made full member of Nightwish. This band is very close net one, and everyone visits everyone. So Hannes became a another family member for band. And they were close even before Floor and he met. Both bands play in Same kinda venues, many times other is a support act to other.

Floor's voice is like an arrow that seems to find the soft spot of joy and sorrow. Music is emotion, this song is proof.

What you said about Nightwish is so true. They get you in the feels good, bad, and the ugly. Between Tuomas composing and writing, Floor with her vocals, and the musicians they know how to bring out the emotions out in us! I know how you feel. I lost my Father a little over a week ago. He was 89. He had a full life. But to me right now it does not make it any easier. Take care. And stay safe..........

Losing someone close to you hits hard. Some scientists have even claimed that such losses shorten ones life-expectancy. It was truly great that you did both versions in one go. This is such a great song about human empathy, but it also tells the story of Floor joining Nightwish after her burn-out/depression, how she met Hannes van Dahl, married him & had her Freja daughter with him.

Both versions are excellent, but the acoustic version is more emotional...probably because it's so stripped down and relies almost completely on Floor's vocals, which are just a wonder to behold. Love this song. Here's a song that's not so emotional (but still good!) so you can just rock out: ua-cam.com/video/KR7U585Dm0w/v-deo.html Cheers!

The song was written to motivate people to ask each other how they're really doing. There's usually a lot 'underneath the silence' that people don't mention when asked. Answering 'fine' is easier than poring your heart out. So make the question a real question, not just like a greet. It means more than you know.

This song is amazing. Absolutely easily to my top 5 of Nightwish songs, and there are many amazing songs. This just hits somewhere deep. Tuomas is really amazing with lyrics and melodies etc. So many emotions and depth in the songs. And the rest of the band really help to make those emotions so real. Just beautiful. ❤️

Yes. The album version is good, but this acoustic version is phenomenal. I shed some tears every time see it. The message is so beautiful: kindness, caring and love. The "rope" there means hanging rope (suicide?). Burn it and join the dance of life with us. Tuomas wrote the second verse ("we met where the cliff greats the sea and so on...") about Floor. Thank you and take care!

So sorry to hear about the loss of your brother. Addiction is a horrible place to be and can tear a family apart. Sometimes it is as if you have lost a loved one while they still live. Truly one of humanities most accursed conditions. If there is anywhere you can find some peace and respite is this world, it is within the beautiful and uplifting compositions of Tuomas and the wondrous voice of the one and only Dutch queen of symphonic metal, Floor Jansen. Your pain and anguish cannot hide from her gentle tugs on your heartstrings and her whispering to your soul. It can be very cathartic to unloose your burdens. I am a man as well, and I understand what that means. However, when I am all alone with only the sound of Floor's beautiful and emotional voice, I feel the emotion welling up and must heed that primal cry from within. It will never heal the wounds, but it does relieve the building pressure. From Tuomas and Floor, heed their call and "Burn the rope and dance some more"! Peace my brother. You have so much more life to live and love to give. This chorus is for you and your mother.
    How`s the heart
    Underneath the silence?
    How`s the one
    Drowning in the mire?
Let us sound a human paean
    Come in, the fire`s warm
Burn the rope and dance some more

  • @rudolfo963
    @rudolfo963 3 роки тому

Just to clarify as this is not a word people tend to know without looking it up: PAEAN (also sometimes pean) A surging joyously exultant song or hymn (as of praise, tribute, thanksgiving, triumph).

Man, I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. And thanks for bringing that number up. It's important to let people know that proffessional help is available. Depression could lead to painful diseases.
Music, drawing and art, in general, is what helps me get through the day. And Nightwish always delivers.
You might know this already but Tuomas Holopainen, main composer and keyboard player, went into a huge deppression after they fired Tarja Turunen (amongst other things) and wrote "The Poet and the Pendelum" to prevent suicide.
Anyways, thank you again for this. Loved your reaction, man. Stay safe!

Music. Maybe mankinds greatest invention. Through creative impulses and use of humanskill evoking emotion through the means of creating sound. Combined with poetry maybe our strongest creative achievement. Even more powerful when we simply ask to our fellowmen: how are you doing? And not as a greeting but as a genuine token of interest in the wellbeing of our neighbours.

I usually do not comment much on videos, but I would like to write a few words to you.
    1. Ignore comments like the one you pinned to the top. Just ignore these comments!!! The reason for me saying that is, either this creep is right and you are an excellent actor. In this case go to Holywood and become f****** rich; or this comment is just not worth even being here. I would guess the later. Just un-pin it.
    2. You said, you might not listen to them anymore... because they make you feel too much? I have no concept of what it might feel like to watch your brother die of drugs or even to watch your brother die. The worst for me was my grandmother and that is just "normal". There is no such thing as "feeling too much"! If you do not want to react to songs, that are to emotional for you, that is just fine. None of your subscribers would mind that at all, unless they are... Just fill in the blank. But continue listening to that kind of music. The pain you might feel or that you are feeling is the most important part of the healing-process. And the healing-process is just that, a process. It might never end or complete. That is OK as well. But do not shut yourself off from it. Pain is part of healing and you should embrace it, no matter how hard it is. When the mosquito bite itches, it is healing. This is the same principal just a lot more painful.
This song was suggested by your mom. Your mother is most likely the one person on this planet, that knows you better than you know yourself. Think about that. I would guess your mom wants to help you with your pain. Let her do so. There is also no person on this planet that might be better suited for this than your mother.
I would like to say, that I enjoyed your reaction, but that would be a lie. Like I said before, unless you are an Oscar winning actor and I am the idiot that fell for it, I saw your pain while reacting to this song. So maybe I did enjoy your reaction in a sick way, but I would rather say your reaction touched me. Most reactions to Nightwish I do enjoy, but a reaction which touches me is still better.
I wish you all the best and hope both you and your mother find a "good" way to cope with your loss. And I do know, there is no "good" way.
    Nevertheless, all the best.
    Dirk
PS Did I mention, you should un-pin that comment from Mr. or Mrs. F***face? Reading this s*** as the first comment to you video just sucks!!!
