This is great! The musicians are spot on and it is revealing to hear the difference in tone and attack that each guitarists produces from the same instrument.
These are jawdroppin players. But to put things in perspective and show how otherworldly Django was is that these must have put time and effort into perfecting this solo. Django just pulled it out of the air and improvised it on the spot and probably fogot about it when he left the recording studio
It is a common Fretless Bass Technique applied to the Guitar : play the Harmonic, lift your Finger, fret the Note carefully and slide - all in one Movement! You can even bend a Harmonic that way...
@@bobjackson3735 there's a lot to discover:) It is used with bends on Electric a lot! I forgot about these, but did explore harmonics on Acoustic - see Nuages or Nancy on my Channel if you like.
I have a question for anyone on here. I'm learning gypsy jass and I was wanting to know if there are guitarists out there that when doing a descending run at a fast pace do they use the sweep picking technique instead of the rest stroke method when you do descending runs.
All of these guys while playing gypsy style are not copying Django and are bringing there own personality to this well worn tune. Pity Seb is such a moody sod.

I really like Noe Reinhardt's playing. Very melodic and tasteful with great right hand.

Anyone know what technique Antoine is using at 3:23? Some sort of sliding harmonic... I can't figure it out!

Strings 1043 yeah, they do, but it’s not traditional. it’s mostly the newer players influenced by other styles of jazz like bebop.
unfair for adrien moignard.. he didnt get accompanied with rythm trio..
He doesn't need it to sound beautiful ;)
Haha cool 👍

what is the name of this kind of guitar?
Larry Tronchoni idrk but look for something like selmer#607 (guitare manouche)
Gypsy jazz
Y’a pas à dire le style manouche, ça n’a rien à voir avec un style sédentaire non pas qu’ils joueront mal mais le toucher n’est pas le même
Manque de rémique
