  • Why Alpha Males Can’t Handle Sigma Males
    Alpha males are known to be the most successful breed of men anywhere they go. They love it when people cheer them on and it is the main reason behind their success.
    The alpha male seeks to control and loves being on top of the situation at all times, but what happens when he meets someone quite the opposite? Someone he knows he cannot control. Someone equally as smart as him, if not smarter, but doesn't care to show it.
    Just like in a wolf pack where the alpha has no control over the lone wolf, so also in real life, alpha males find it impossible to handle sigma males.

    A friend of mine definitely fits the description of Sigma, but he is very competetive. Not towards others, but towards himself. He keeps pushing his own boundaries. He is extremely down to earth and often silent. Doesn't take credit, because he doesn't need outside validation.

    • @ravendickens8425

      That's because that's how we achieve success: constantly competing against ourselves.
      Sigmas learn very quickly that they can normally outperform those around them through dedication and effort, and so competing with others quickly becomes redundant as an incentive to improve oneself, you should simply aim to constantly improve upon your past success.
      Seem to be inhumanly good at something and you don't know anyone who can come close? Looks like you need to pick up a new skill, and then start the journey of self competition all over again.
      I have such an obscene skillset for my age and its all down to this relentless attitude for constant self growth that got me here.
      And the only motivation? I just wanted to be as well equipped for life as possible, to be as able to help and protect those in my life as best as possible. To be of solid and practical use to both myself and the world.
      I don't want to see personal success, I want to see global success, in my mind, that starts with more people adopting a more conscientious approach (as I perceive myself to have.) Be the change you want to see.
      That's the purity, and the reason it works, an alpha would never do anything for anyone other than themselves.

    The fundamental driver of the alpha personality is insecurity. He needs the external totems of success (power, money, etc.) to demonstrate his value as much to himself as to others. Once acquired, he feels that they prove his worth as an individual. The alpha sees the quiet confidence of the sigma, coupled with talent that often exceeds his own, and is profoundly threatened. If you take the alpha's power away, he will become worthless. Because the sigma draws his value from within, it can never be taken from him unless he gives it willingly.

      Nope, you are describing a beta. A true alpha is not insecure. He doesn't need validation of his value. He knows his value, and it isn't imagined or illusory. An alpha has undeniable value. You cannot take away his power - it is internal. You can take away his position, but he will always rise to a similar position, even if he must enter a new hierarchy to do so.

    in the nature, Alpha is male lion,
    Sigma is a male tiger
    Lions has a pack to lead, so they get help when killing prey,
    But male tiger is alone, no pack help when killing a Buffalo
    So in ancient Roma, tiger was the winner 35 out of 36 fights with lion
    Because tiger goes through more heavy trainings, diffulties and also it needs to handle this alone as a result of a hard life style, it makes lonely tiger stronger than lions

    Personally for me there exists one fundamental difference between alpha and sigma. Sigma male retains his sigma entity in any part of the world, wherever he goes, because he is sigma for himself. While alpha male is tied to that specific place and circle of people, where he gained his alpha male reputation and recognition from his surrounding. And as soon as he changes place and surrounding, he is forced to start over from scratch. And there's no guarantee for repeated success, because his new surrounding can refuse to aknowledge his greatness.

      The Alpha doesn't stop being an Alpha just because he's removed from his pond. He will always try to exert his dominance where ever he happens to be, testing the water continually until he has another core group that can dominated by him. He may not be the Alpha at the job, but he's very sure of his place on the ladder, and always looking for an opportunity to jump up a rung or two.

Make decisions without others input, defend wrong decisions to the death. You will not learn anything when you are always right. What are you afraid of in hearing the truth or that you could have done something differently? This is a unconfident “leader” /drill Sargent forcing bad decisions down people’s throats. This is why we don’t chose leaders based on height. It doesn’t matter where the best idea comes from regardless of what your pride tells you. It’s ok to be wrong and learn from it. Wait until you figure out in the real world you can’t make people do anything. As soon as you walk away they are gonna do whatever they want. Try getting them to respect you and want to follow your lead. Alphas force their views while sigmas find the correct view. Now watch the video again and tell me how much your entire post is not 100 percent alpha.

    I've never had a problem with an alpha being the alpha. I can get along great as long as he is respectful. I hold the Golden Rule as a guiding principle. So, if you are nice to me, I will be just as nice to you.
    I had a good friend in college who was an alpha, and he was very loyal and helpful to me. He had my back and I had his. I think he appreciated me because I am very thoughtful and analytical. I think he really enjoyed deep conversations.
    My alpha friend had a massive social network, so I got to experience a lot of opportunities and meet a lot of people that I otherwise would not. He dominated social gatherings and that was perfect for me. He did introduce me to a lot of interesting people.

    I learned that leadership is easy when I was in the military and was forced to be a leader because I am 6' 4" tall. All it takes to be a leader is make a decision and stick to it, never let subordinates see you second guess any decision that you make. If it turns out you make a wrong decision just insist that you made the right decision with the information you had at the time. The only people a leader is accountable to are those who are higher up the ladder than He / She is. Making a decision and being confident in the decisions you make are all it takes to be a leader. Sigma's are the only ones who will make a controversial decision and stick to it because they don't need the support of anyone to know that they are correct. This is because they take the time to fully understand the matter at hand before they make a decision, so anyone who challenges that decision will get a full elucidation of the topic to show that the Sigma was in fact making the most logically correct choice.

    • @Wise.Thinker
      @Wise.Thinker  Рік тому +21

      Thank you for sharing this! I would also add that being a leader requires courage and self-confidence. It's important to trust your own judgment and be sure of the decision you're making before taking action. Holding yourself accountable for your decisions is also important, as this can help ensure that you take responsibility for your actions and learn from them in the future. Ultimately, taking the time to understand a situation from all perspectives will help ensure that you make the most informed, intelligent, and logical decisions.

Both are successful, attractive, and live exciting / productive lives; however the former alpha always feels the need to brag about his accomplishments and what fun things he's doing 24/7. He's very full of himself, especially with how he can pick up women easily. The sigma on the other hand is more quiet / reserved, and while he also has worthy achievements and traits, he never feels the need to bring it up all the time unless he's asked and it's the right time / place. Over time people in my friends group are naturally distancing themselves from the alpha because he's an insufferable narcissist while wanting to spend more time with the sigma who is overall more pleasant company.

      No, if you got into leadership, you would see a much larger difference. I don't know about other sigma's, but I never wanted to do things like an alpha. The one funny thing is how they preach about everybody needing a posse. Really? You limited your mind that way? It goes right back to what they said here about how much thought alphas put into things. They're unwilling to spend half as much time as the sigma thinking things over, and so their plans fall apart much easier, and so they need a posse they can blame their failures on, and also to pick up their pieces. It's not a terribly bad system, it's just inferior to the sigma leadership mold.

    • @arisuaozora
      @arisuaozora Рік тому

    • @charles2241
      @charles2241 Рік тому

      @@arisuaozora I did the research myself, as I WENT THROUGH IT. YMMV of course. Several content provider's say the same thing about this posse needs (and yes, they are alphas - Andrew Tate for one). I wouldn't have believed it myself, but after seeing how they operate, I believe them. As for the issue of how long they spend on something, it's just that they think they have the solution a lot quicker, because they just have a quicker mindset about what they have to do. Sigma's are probing things a lot more. Not that the sigma technique is always good, and can't be overdone, it's just that we have a different point to where we're satisfied with the data, and it's almost always a lot further down the line than the alpha. I think the alpha would consistently think we waste time doing that, and that's doubtlessly correct at times. The sigma attitude, is that good, isn't good enough. Sometimes it pulls wonders, sometimes it really is a waste of time, but neither faction knows that going in. You try your technique, and it works, or it doesn't.
      You see? That's a lot more than just the sigma being the alpha without ego. There's no ego to even the alpha doing that, it's just a different style, and since he's so posse driven, he can afford to take the quicker approach, as I explained earlier. Sigma's can't cover for their mistakes at all, at least not with a boss, because it's all just him. And BTW, I've seen plenty of alpha vs sigma videos, and they don't dissuade what I said one bit. I have a larger scope, plus personal experience, which is probably more data than one book. There's just tons of books out there, but in video form, and, of course, this video was one of them.
      I'm not disagreeing with your "original statement" only that's it's quite a bit more than that, especially concerning management techniques in a business. Been there, done that, several decades worth.

    I've only discovered the term Sigma fairly recently, but it does make sense and resonate with the way I've always viewed myself. I'd always described my personality as basically an alpha male who is perfectly content to let another actually be the alpha, and actually sees that crown of leadership/alpha status as more of a burden than a goal.
    The nuanced differences outlined in videos such as this one makes it pretty clear that I'm a Sigma. I particularly identify with the aspect of not needing anyone at all to validate or justify my confidence in myself, and actually preferring to be alone, as opposed to how an alpha kind of builds a kingdom around themselves.
    I get along fine with some alpha dudes. The secret is making sure they understand that you will not tolerate being treated as yet another one of their many subjects. My pattern with alphas seems to be.. butt heads HARD over some issue or another, then come to terms with each other and form a very strong friendship.
    If you want me to do something your way rather than my own, then convince me. Show me the logic behind your suggestion and why you believe it to be the better solution to the problem. At least attempt to explain it respectfully rather than "because I said so", and I will likely do it your way, especially if it is technically your call how it should be done.

      Hell Yes! i am prouyd to be a sigma person and honestly i don't give shite for the so called Alphas d---ing around here only because the sigma person has something they never can get, a real sigma can easily, and i mean really easily take the place of an alpha if he/she want to, many sigmas hawe alpha positions, we just does not feel the need of use it to abuse and stepping on other people since we can stand on our own legs with or without them.

      Thanks, Devon! Working in the office can be a source of frustration when roles and responsibilities are not clearly defined. While it may seem like coworkers are aggressive or overly negative, oftentimes this is because there is confusion about who is responsible for what tasks. Once everyone's roles are clarified, the workplace dynamic can become more harmonious and productive.

    I grew up in a hard area, many of my friends were alphas. I could have been considered a beta. Recd an excellent education at a country school. All the alpha friends dropped out of school, then it was just me. Worked hard and had a smart, beautiful girlfriend. She was actually too good for me, I'm glad she broke with me. Took a hard laborious job 1.5 yrs. Quit great job and joined U.S Army. Large and super hardworking, interrupted many alphas when I returned to the civilian life. I allowed their existence, sooner or later they will 100% depend on Sigmas.

He just unleashes me on projects, if I have an issue that I need advice, or help with, he's got my back, and reciprocal...COMMUNICATION!...Once we figured that "obstacle" out everything has been AWESOME! Your boss may be a Sigma that's been forced to act more Alpha in order to successfully lead the group. A true Alpha will never give that much autonomy to a Sigma for fear of being replaced, or at very least, for fear of being overshadowed by one of Sigma's ideas. Your boss is a Sigma playing the game 😉

    We have a group chat so they can post when they make a sale. They try to get you to post so it motivates them to work really hard and beat you. I never post my sales. I'll get 150k jobs and never post them where I'll make over 15k. They post every 15-20k sale they get competing with each other. I dint need to see what they are doing to motivate me. Plus I work smarter not harder. If rather make 10 150k sales in a year than 100 15k sales. Less work, and I make the same.

      Not if the pecking order is firmly established. Hence the trope of guys initally hating each other, fighting it out, then becoming competitive friends. They know which is top but the other will constantly challange for the purpose of showcasing both of their strengths.
      Sigma don't play that game. They only compete for keeps. Not for showcase games to impress others.

What he doesn't know is that I constantly get offered work online by his competitors and even his customers, and when I get an offer I'm really comfortable with, he's gonna be wondering why I suddenly bailed and why there's such a hole of stuff that doesn't get done anymore in the position I was in, because he doesn't have a fucking clue.

    If we are just using alpha and sigma to describe their personality, then I would point out there's a huge difference between a competent alpha male, and an incompetent alpha male. I have known men with alpha male personalities that were completely pathetic and at the bottom of the hiarchy. They are the most aggressive and toxic people to be around, as they attempt to drag others beneath them.
    The more competent the alpha male, the less insecure he's going to feel. Extremely competent alphas will typically assign an appropriate project to a sigma, and then stay out of the way.

    • @ManCrew
      @ManCrew Рік тому

      You are correct. A true Apha is someone that knows his team and can work with each type to get maximum success from each and every one. I work with an Alpha who is an expert at leading. The difference between a leader and a manipulator is a leader invites people on a journey and knows how to get the most out of each type of person.

    • @jacobnash9755
      @jacobnash9755 9 місяців тому

      @@ManCrewan incompetent alpha male isn't any less of an alpha male...
      They just lose their herd to others.
      There are incompetent sigma males that get mistaken as beta males. They don't bow but they don't try either. They can end up living with their parents much the same as betas.
      Not because they suck at things but because they can't find enough value in putting forth the effort.
      They might enjoy simple things and that is truly enough for them.
      They won't complain about things like an incompetent beta or alpha. They accept them as choice.

    A wise alphas work with sigmas for all the reasons mentioned. A shaky alpha experiences insecurity over these sigma traits. In general, a sigma will only lead as needed. Otherwise he's content to be part of the team while maintaining absolute autonomy. Alphas often, not always, need subordinates surrounding them, but a sigma has no such status requirements.
