I have the Superstar 360 version of this radio in excellent condition that I purchased from the original owner that hadn't used it in 20 years. Great transceiver and very nice looking radio. Although I'd rather it be black as the PR is. Thanks for the demo of this vintage piece of radio history.
Great content as usual well done. I own a superstar 369fm and I know that these are great classic rig's to use. I look forward to seeing your next video when ever that is
Didn't know it existed . No watergate option on this one too. President had a second chance to make it right with the new version . I doubt anyone at President has a clue . I wonder if they even have an antenna on the roof over there ? Thanks for posting well done as always ! 73
I have one of these and it is a brilliant radio. Think of it as the same as the Cobra 148GTL-DX only newer and slightly better and you are pretty much there with it. They are relatively rare here in the UK but they do turn up for sale in France from time to time.
It would be nice to have a radio with a variable transmit control on the front panel (of any radio). I could count my fingers on one hand that did that - I just don't remember what they were, except one of the Tram D201's. 🤔
Hello my friend, my favorite two radios was the realistic trc 490, and the laffette testat ssb 140, well I guess I can't leave out the galaxy saturn turbo. On sb it would swing a little more than 200, have you ever talked on one of these. Stickman and 006 southeast ms. And I am qrt .
The radio I wished I would've never sold was the Galaxy 2100. Just wondering if there's any new in the box ones? For a while I was buying nib 35-40 year old cb radios off eBay.
that radio can be modified into a dual final radio like the export Galaxy radios. That is a nice older radio. Looks just like the older all black Galaxy Mirage radios from the 80s and early 90s.
Nice review, the radio is old school 120 channel SSB. Not sure about price, if under $200 usd, it might be worth it, shame it doesn’t have an external frequency counter jack. At least it’s not Chinese junk. I like that you used channel 39, heard some of my WR members 😊 3’s
Hey... I'm from the UK... I have an old superstar 3900E..... Do you know any way if I could install that new channel display with the frequency read out on my radio??? I think that I have all of the range I need ....... But Is there any way to get any more out of this set??? I have bands A B C D E F at the min on modes CW FM AM LSB USB..... I have had an old Lincoln before..... Has the first generation Lincoln more frequently range than this superstar????
I have recently got this radio from Ebay about couple weeks ago works fantastic it has nice 10m mods and I had a quick pep it has your call sign inside when you did the 10m mods GW0WVL very good soldering and neat work you've done on it.
I believe when cobra stopped making them President stepped in and bought what was left, and then the Richard appeared greatly in France,AB 010 board is bulletproof and also had murata filters
It would be great if president would put ssb in the new Richard and Walker, not sure why they would make such a good looking radio and leave sideband out.
There's a modification where you swap out the stock 2.2uf capacitor for a 4.7uf capacitor and it doubles the length of the roger beep tone. I did that to my Galaxy DX99V back in the mid 90s and all my local CB neighbors didn't like it too much. I forget what number capacitor it is to swap out but I know it is located near the mic plug socket side at the front of the board.

Very Cool ! I always like the all black early exports ! I knew President recycled some names !

I have a Galaxy Pluto, seems a superstar 3900 with frequencymeter and without cw, or pa (in black)
Loved my old late 80's silver front president Jackson
Bardzo dobre radio, zwłaszcza starszy model jest godny polecenia
By chance do you know a guy who goes by the handle high pockets
Is it possible to get that President Richard export here in the states at all ?
It’s an old radio, only ones would be used on eBay etc.
The Richard is basically a Cobra 148 gtl dx ....PB-010-AC chassis 👍
That is what I thought as well.. a crossover unit perhaps ?

Thought that’s what he said in the video. LoL

De unde se poate achiziționa? Câți wati are.
Nice vid thanks
How did you get it, just can’t find one
They are older radios and pretty rare.
Just a FYI, I contacted the factory, they said it was about 20 years old..

beautiful radio I have the same greetings 161BM77 Operator Michał GTH Polska Kraków 73
Disabling the roger beeper with a pair of pliers is a rather barbaric solution
I am part Viking :) As mentioned, you can add a switch inline or you could unsolder the wire, whatever floats your boat.
I didn’t see a pair of pliers. Just a single. 🤓
@@SeanONeill13 Yesss!

Guy that invented Roger beep should be hung by his toenails
It is time all CB transceivers were based on a PowerSDR standard so everything is accessed via menus and no twiddling of IF transformers.
It is confusing, there was a “Richard” model already but it was AM/FM only, if you order one, don’t get the wrong one!
Sharp radio
Don't need that for nothing
Best looking 148gtl ever!
Great radio but mine is 4pin microphone
