I herd in her touching a very delicious melody, was a lot of Rosina and Joseph in her touching, a different energy, a mystic performing, thanks for sharing had been a great pleasure listening to Rosina playing with that wonderful orchestra… Love very much her cadenzas , oh my God…RIP great musician!
thank you, this playing of rosina is so moving, so loving, motherly love...rest in peace in the good company of angels, muses and saints...invisible saint she was...
Thank you so much! This is a such original and deep playing, singing, always noble and fresh. Do you have other recordings by her? I only know the first piano concerto by Chopin and it's not enough for my ears...
Seems to me they're well-matched. She is not daunted by his power, both show resourcefulness in repartee. She's hilarious, but far from shallow: the first movement cadenza coruscates with wit and feeling.....
Jean Morel taught conducting at Juilliard for many decades. A wonderful musician and a more than demanding teacher. His performing career was small because he was both uncompromising with managers and management and was generally a nasty, unpleasant person. Even James Levine, who never customarily criticized anyone, and who admired Morel greatly as a teacher, said some of this perhaps 40 years in an interview book.
The best conducting I've heard in this is Sargent with Schnabel, but the pianism here is much better, and the conducting is only slightly worse I'd argue.

Russian Romanticism is unbeatable.

Maravillosa interpretación de la profesora y pianista Rosina, nuestro mejor legado de la música clásica que exalta la grandeza de la humanidad....
Certainly one of my most favourite performances.
A fortepiano school which is totally based on the touch and the quality of the sound.
The late Romantic Russian school.
Amazing- playing not just for an 80 year old but any age as reviewed by the N.Y. Times!
Where can we access the review? Thank you.

Perfection
Perfect music for a lazy Saturday afternoon in the back yard.... :)
I don't think so.
very nice
Who is this "Jean Morel" .. ? His conducting is "gewaltsam" ..... full of power and agressive energy .... and makes Rosita a bit naïve ....
