I love how Sada and Turo's aces, despite the mechanic being gone, invoking the feel of Mega Evolution. Roaring Moon is basically Mega Salamence, and Iron Valiant is essentially a combination of Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade.
Speaking of fighting a friend. The IA Sada/Turo their theme isn't demoralizing, is actually inspiring, the IA deep in its code is hoping for you to succeed against itself but despite wanting you to win it can't hold back and neither of their pokémon will hold back.
Lusamine's theme is underrated. The way it shifts from elegant and graceful (and kinda tragic) to psychotic and unhinged at 21:55 is absolutely genius and gives me chills. The vocals are also a nice touch.

Toby Fox did NONE of the Team Star battle themes. They are the works of Teruo Taniguchi. Remember that NOT ALL battle themes are done by Toby Fox and there are other composers who worked on some of the battle themes, like I dunno, the former director Junichi Masuda.

I love how the progression of villain teams is straightforward up until Gen 7, where we get the first curve ball of the villain Team just being a front for the actual villains of the story, then Gen 8 gives us the same villain behind the villain story, but this time they're all part of the same organization, and that the organization is actually the Pokemon League itself. How does Gen 9 top this? By having the Professors themselves be the antagonist and the driving force behind the whole story! The Professors are usually the first ones we meet in any given Pokemon generation, and are our first allies on our adventures, but this time, they're the last one we meet, because they're the final boss! Lovely direction the story of villain teams have gone! EDIT: Also, I feel that Sada and Turo would have been pretty good friends with Colress had they ever met. Despite, y'know, all three of them being cold, calculating, nearly heartless machines (literally for two of them; the jury's still out for the third). Also also, Giovanni, Lysandre, Lusamine, and Rose all disregarding Penny as "just a kid," until they each notice a portion of their Team's/org's funding suddenly missing and a message saying "Hasta la viStar" in its place, despite all of the safeguards that would block hacking and whatnot. She's an adorable little bundle of federal grand larceny, that one!

Welp, now I *REALLY* have to get back into Legends! xD I'm so horrible at the game, but now that I know some of the other characters (themes and appearances), I've gotta pick it back up sometime after finishing Violet's main story. I'm taking my sweet time with it as well. But YESSS GIRATINA ORIGIN THEME..! Gah, I loved that theme so much more than the normal Giratina one. It's just so freaking good! And of course, I can only imagine chaos when Guzma's theme comes on, and Lysandre, my man...I just love him so much - scheme aside. :P I will always find Aqua/Magma and Galactic super awesome as well. I think I liked the Grunt and Commander themes more, respectively, but I also enjoyed the bosses, especially from Gen 3. Ghestis' OG theme just has major creep factor, and I preferred the remade from 2 more. :P Even scarier that I swear I hear the words "End this" during the "chorus" of the song. :o I was definitely begging for this to end during his fight, LOL! You know you're evil when you start with Cofagrigus! Nightmare fuel...

Kamado went to stop whatever the threat was, not kill dialga/palkia specifically, out of fear of losing his home again (he's not originally from Hisui, and his original home was destroyed by a rampaging pokemon, likely killing his family as well). The battle near Hall of Origin/ Spear Pillar was his disbelief that the Red Chain would stop them. And when you defeat him, he skeptically goes along with the plan, even telling everyone to flee when Origin Palkia/Dialga arrives. And it's not like the team was made to kill Dialga/Palkia, nor was that stated anywhere. He also threw you out, not as a triumph or in any kind of positive emotion, but once again, from FEAR. He feared that you, the PC, was either an accomplice or the mastermind behind all the events during the game. It was for the safety of Jubilife. I believe he even apologizes afterward during the post-game for how he acted, before challenging you to a battle for the Fist Plate. Volo nearly destroyed the region itself, caused one of the legendaries to go beserk, caused the STF we see sending Nobles into a frenzy... to piss off Arceus so it comes down to prove him right, and to literally take control of GOD ITSELF to rewrite the world, erasing everything you know. He was manipulative, selfish, and destructive.

Team Rainbow Rocket - AU Giovanni: Take over the Pokemon multiverse through Ultra Wormholes alongside all of the successful AU team leaders. Team Magma - Maxie: Using Groudon to create more landmass to further human progress. Team Aqua - Archie: Using Kyogre to expand the seas to wipe out human civilization and returning the world to its origins. Team Galactic - Cyrus: To recreate the universe using Dialga and Palkia into a perfect world without spirit. Volo: Wanted to meet Arceus so badly to destroy and recreate the world using Giratina to tear through the space-time continuum. Team Plasma - N: Seeking to create a world where Pokemon are liberated from humans using one either Reshiram or Zekrom, for the sake of truth or ideals. Team Plasma - Ghetsis: Seeking to use said propaganda and N to take over and control Unova. (Neo) Team Plasma - Colress: Wants to know how to draw out the true strength of Pokemon and does not follow Team Plasma's ideals. (Neo) Team Plasma - Ghetsis: Take control of Unova by force using Kyurem to freeze the region. Team Flare - Lysandre: Wants to destroy the world and rebuild it into its more beautiful and unspoiled state by wiping out most of the human population using the Ultimate Weapon, Xerneas and Yveltal (in my headcanon also using Zygarde). Team Skull - Guzma: Causing trouble and mischief for the people of Alola, wallowing and sulking over his failures and broken dreams alongside his grunts; wanting to prove he's the strongest in Alola and rebel against their traditions, and wanting to destroy Kukui and his ideals. Aether Foundation - Lusamine: Obsessed over the Ultra Beasts and wanting to summon them into Alola with no regard of the consequences, as well as wanting to travel to Nihilego's world and stay there for eternity. Team Yell - Piers: Help and encourage Marnie to win the Galar League by putting together a cheering squad and hoping for Spikemuth's increase in publicity with it, though unaware of their constant public nuisance and obstructing other challengers. Macro Cosmos - Chairman Rose: Providing numerous services and technology to the Galar region and keep the region running, alongside the use of Dynamax energy and Galar particles; using Eternatus to keep Galar running on Dynamax energy for a lifetime to solve an energy crisis that will occur in the future. Team Star - Giacomo, Mela, Atticus, Ortega, and Eri: Rebel against the academy and hoping for the Big Boss's return. Team Star - Cassiopeia a.k.a Penny: At first, wants to help the bosses go up against their bullies, then later wants to disband Team Star to stop their troublesome activities. Sada and Turo: Wanted to bring in ancient Pokemon from the far past and futuristic Pokemon from the far future to the present to create a paradise using a time machine created from Tera crystals and from an unknown Pokemon. AI Sada and AI Turo: Wants to put a stop to the time machine and end their original creators' dreams to prevent an ecological disaster. Okay, I think that's everything so far. So what do you think?
You know, it's kind of fascinating and amusing to see these organizations, their leaders, and standalone antagonists side-by-side as it makes you compare their impact on the world and what it would be like if they were to meet each other and how they would compare in their teams, that would be kind of funny.
Archer's (and by extension, Team Rocket in Gen 2 as a whole) main goal wasn't to take over the world or anything drastic, they just wanted to locate Giovanni iirc. I agree they were quite underwhelming lmao Now that I think about it, Pokemon has really taken to the whole 'sympathetic/well-intentioned antagonist' in the past few games - hell, everything AI Sada/Turo does to antagonise us is completely against their will. (AI Sada/Turo has no intention of fighting anymore is a pretty heavy line)
You forgot one. Ultra Recon Squad - Phico: Wants to defeat Necrozma and save his world through questionable means. (He was'nt evil but was working with Lusamine, has admin, keeps in his VERY creepy lair a legendary who wants to attack Alola and is minions get in the way several times, even after he discovers that he was working with the Big Bad. You don't face him but you face his admins instead... oh and ex evil boss COLRESS works for him at times). Galaxy Team - Kamado: Wants to banish the player out paranoia and kill Dialga and Palkia to protect Hisui. (I KNOW that he is'nt evil but he IS the guy you face through the main story, has an admin (Benny) and grunts, gets the heroes expulsed for reasons he's of course not the cause of AND is the last boss before you catch the legendaries).
What about Maxie/Archie from RSE and USUM, Cyrus from DPPt and USUM, Ghetsis from USUM and Lysandre from USUM? How can you say it's all if a good chunk is missing? Even if you'd argue the USUM ones shouldn't count due to the villains acting like admins to Giovanni, they are still leaders of their respecitve teams. There's also the fact Colress isn't a leader in Team Plasma, he's just a high-ranking member, so why make the difference?
Well as Penny said, Team star doesn't boss each other around. The whole point of team star was to get revenge against their bullies. But after things went wild, Penny needed to stop them with Operation Starfall.

Every music comparison between elite four and villain so forth really was stepped up by gen 5. You can tell that it influenced the later generations.
A lot of the older games also had device limitations on what they could do with their music. By the time of the DS, they could do a lot more.

All right, it's time for a rundown of each of the leaders'/organizations', as well as standalone antagonists', mission and goals:
Team Rocket - Giovanni and Archer: Take over the world by any means necessary (though in my headcanon, also using the legendary birds and Lugia to take over Kanto and Johto, seriously they're kind of underwhelming in HGSS in the end, honestly).
Team Rainbow Rocket - AU Giovanni: Take over the Pokemon multiverse through Ultra Wormholes alongside all of the successful AU team leaders.
Team Magma - Maxie: Using Groudon to create more landmass to further human progress.
Team Aqua - Archie: Using Kyogre to expand the seas to wipe out human civilization and returning the world to its origins.
Team Galactic - Cyrus: To recreate the universe using Dialga and Palkia into a perfect world without spirit.
Volo: Wanted to meet Arceus so badly to destroy and recreate the world using Giratina to tear through the space-time continuum.
Team Plasma - N: Seeking to create a world where Pokemon are liberated from humans using one either Reshiram or Zekrom, for the sake of truth or ideals.
Team Plasma - Ghetsis: Seeking to use said propaganda and N to take over and control Unova.
(Neo) Team Plasma - Colress: Wants to know how to draw out the true strength of Pokemon and does not follow Team Plasma's ideals.
(Neo) Team Plasma - Ghetsis: Take control of Unova by force using Kyurem to freeze the region.
Team Flare - Lysandre: Wants to destroy the world and rebuild it into its more beautiful and unspoiled state by wiping out most of the human population using the Ultimate Weapon, Xerneas and Yveltal (in my headcanon also using Zygarde).
Team Skull - Guzma: Causing trouble and mischief for the people of Alola, wallowing and sulking over his failures and broken dreams alongside his grunts; wanting to prove he's the strongest in Alola and rebel against their traditions, and wanting to destroy Kukui and his ideals.
Aether Foundation - Lusamine: Obsessed over the Ultra Beasts and wanting to summon them into Alola with no regard of the consequences, as well as wanting to travel to Nihilego's world and stay there for eternity.
Team Yell - Piers: Help and encourage Marnie to win the Galar League by putting together a cheering squad and hoping for Spikemuth's increase in publicity with it, though unaware of their constant public nuisance and obstructing other challengers.
Macro Cosmos - Chairman Rose: Providing numerous services and technology to the Galar region and keep the region running, alongside the use of Dynamax energy and Galar particles; using Eternatus to keep Galar running on Dynamax energy for a lifetime to solve an energy crisis that will occur in the future.
Team Star - Giacomo, Mela, Atticus, Ortega, and Eri: Rebel against the academy and hoping for the Big Boss's return.
Team Star - Cassiopeia a.k.a Penny: At first, wants to help the bosses go up against their bullies, then later wants to disband Team Star to stop their troublesome activities.
Sada and Turo: Wanted to bring in ancient Pokemon from the far past and futuristic Pokemon from the far future to the present to create a paradise using a time machine created from Tera crystals and from an unknown Pokemon.
AI Sada and AI Turo: Wants to put a stop to the time machine and end their original creators' dreams to prevent an ecological disaster.
Okay, I think that's everything so far. So what do you think?
You know, it's kind of fascinating and amusing to see these organizations, their leaders, and standalone antagonists side-by-side as it makes you compare their impact on the world and what it would be like if they were to meet each other and how they would compare in their teams, that would be kind of funny.
Archer's (and by extension, Team Rocket in Gen 2 as a whole) main goal wasn't to take over the world or anything drastic, they just wanted to locate Giovanni iirc. I agree they were quite underwhelming lmao
Now that I think about it, Pokemon has really taken to the whole 'sympathetic/well-intentioned antagonist' in the past few games - hell, everything AI Sada/Turo does to antagonise us is completely against their will. (AI Sada/Turo has no intention of fighting anymore is a pretty heavy line)

Ultra Recon Squad - Phico: Wants to defeat Necrozma and save his world through questionable means. (He was'nt evil but was working with Lusamine, has admin, keeps in his VERY creepy lair a legendary who wants to attack Alola and is minions get in the way several times, even after he discovers that he was working with the Big Bad. You don't face him but you face his admins instead... oh and ex evil boss COLRESS works for him at times).
Galaxy Team - Kamado: Wants to banish the player out paranoia and kill Dialga and Palkia to protect Hisui. (I KNOW that he is'nt evil but he IS the guy you face through the main story, has an admin (Benny) and grunts, gets the heroes expulsed for reasons he's of course not the cause of AND is the last boss before you catch the legendaries).

What about Maxie/Archie from RSE and USUM, Cyrus from DPPt and USUM, Ghetsis from USUM and Lysandre from USUM? How can you say it's all if a good chunk is missing? Even if you'd argue the USUM ones shouldn't count due to the villains acting like admins to Giovanni, they are still leaders of their respecitve teams. There's also the fact Colress isn't a leader in Team Plasma, he's just a high-ranking member, so why make the difference?
