@@tahamohammad8842 not to mention the localization error translating Ghetsis' name in the choir so it came out sounding like "(D/P)eeeee(n)-ess!" instead of "Geeeeeh-cis!" Fun fact: Some have said the choir says "Penance," but that simply isn't true because in the Rainbow Rocket version they rectified the audio/localization error and had them clearly sing "Gheeeeeet-sis!" and not "Penance."

@Sel Is Bored No, actually. Most of them mention if someone interfered with their plans, in reference to the player protagonist of their region, they would probably never arrive in Alola in the first place. That means there was no player protagonist who stopped them.

Like i said, i had a team that lie to people about helping pokemon, But! I summoned a pokemon from another universe! But then Lillie and gladion stop me from doing that...." *everyone* : "Another dimension? Man... They are running out of ideas... What is next? Simps?!" *Team yell* : "Ummm....." *Everyone* : "Imma head out..."
I like how Cyrus' theme has little to no resemblence to the Team Galactic theme since he cares very little about Team Galactic, as he would unhesitantly sacrifice his entire organization to reach his goal. It's even more noticible when you compare the other leaders and their groups' themes, except Ghetsis as he's a similar case since he only thirsts for power and uses N and Team Plasma to get it.
In stark contrast, Giovanni uses the Team Rocket theme instead of a special variant, showing that he is utterly devoted to his underlings and his organization. This sets Giovanni apart from other villains: he has no grand dreams of world conquest, he already runs a gym and the criminal underworld of Kanto and Johto. He's the most realistic villain in the series, and it more than makes up for lost gravitas to me.
In the RR episode Giovanni's battle theme is in part a remix of the Team Rainbow Rocket team. He has a lot of power, and I think he was just playing when he fought you, only Arceus knows how many legendary Pokémons he has, if he was going to fight seriously I don't think the protagonist would have a chance against him. Still, with all this power he has, his theme is in part a remix of the Team Rainbow Rocket theme, it did change, but it isn't completely different, even with all the power he has got, he still cares about his grunts. The grunts even tells you that Giovanni is the real boss, for them Ghetsis, Cyrus, Maxie, and all the other bosses aren't their true boss, they don't seem to care about them that much, it doesn't matter how much power they have, they still treat Giovanni as the real boss. And besides, a lot of grunts are kinda dumb, and I doubt Giovanni didn't notice it, he could just dismiss them, I'm pretty sure he can find other people who wants to be his grunts, he can travel through worlds after all, the fact he didn't dismiss them makes us understand that he cares about them. In the Celebi event of HGSS he was going to help his grunts, because "they need him", his grunts wanted him back, for them the Team Rocket isn't the same thing without Giovanni, and if they wanted him back this shows how much he cares about his grunts, if he was a dick, then they wouldn't come up with a plan to get him back in the team, this shows how much he cares about his grunts and how much his grunts cares about him. Giovanni is evil, but not cruel. He is the bad guy, sure, but he cares about his grunts. Ghetsis, on the other hand, is pure evil and doesn't care about anyone.
After playing a romhack that went into some of the more behind the scenes aspects of Pokemon that you don't normally hear about, I'm convinced that Giovanni isn't evil in the slightest. He's just a man who was beaten down, betrayed, went through a midlife crisis and then managed to reach his goals and be content in life despite everything. And then having all of that regained dignity destroyed by a kid in a fight rigged by his old brother in arms, Oak. Of course, that last part didn't happen in the Post-gen 6 universe. Maybe none of it. Rainbow Rocket Giovanni is still an absolute winner at life
Cyrus is the only villain who actually freaks me out a bit, there is this cold/dead look to his eyes that no other one has to me. He gives off the vibe that will not hesitate to harm or maybe even kill those in the way of his goal and feel no remorse having done so.
To the people that say team yell is better than skull I must remind you that team skull literally took over an entire town and their leader managed to get into a different dimension.
Everyone's talking about Gen 5 music. Can we talk about how much attitude Maxie and Archie's (magma and aqua leaders) theme has! These guys are in control and the music makes you understand that
@@teameclipse7763 I’m not saying the other gems weren’t gud, they are great, gen 6 and 7 just didn’t feel right for some reason, cuz at that point they were just introducing 3D and I feel like they finally got the hang of it in SwSh
N is canonically ghetsis' son, so green is either their natural hair colour or ghetsis dyed Ns hair ever since he was a child just to fuel his own ego So technically ghetsis and Ns hair is "natural"
I mean you gotta admit it, he took control of Dialga and Palkia of the creation Trio. Which in turn called in Giratina and could possibly bring in the god Arceus.
I once show Cyrus pic to my Dad He said the dudes look 28ish I was like "wtf how did get so close to know his real age is 27" My dad said "The guy looks he is on a mid life crisis" This explains a lot
*Archie:* I will bring nature back to its beginning! *Maxie:* I will expand the land to further humanity's development! *Cyrus:* I will tear down this universe and replace it with a better one! *Lysandre:* I will purge this world of the unworthy to preserve it for those that are left! *Lusamine:* I just wanted to be left alone in my jellyfish monster dimension.
I think... they're cameras. He's like... recording all your data for posterity? Because he wanted you to join his immortal bullshit world and is trying to salvage anything he can possibly learn from you.
Ghetsis gave me nightmares as a kid in Pokemon white and white 2, so freaking creepy and the only antagonist to try to kill you on screen. He also pushed Lily and kept her hostage.
*CORRECTION!* Lysandre *also* tries to kill the player character with the Ultimate Weapon in Y after losing to them! So Ghetsis isn't the *ONLY* villian who tries to kill you aswell!
Seriously you guys are just braindead unova fans saying the same damn thing. It's ok to have opinions you know, and I personally think team plasma's theme is trash compared to a lot of the other ones
Lusamine (from the original Sun and Moon, not the Ultra games) is definitely my favorite villain in any of the games. It's kinda jarring to see her turn from the caring head of a non profit dedicated to saving Pokemon to a fucking megalomaniac that wants to release a bunch of alien-ish creatures on the world.
And in the ultra games I think (Haven't played yet so basing this off of videos on youtube) she acts all friendly then just completely becomes psychotic? Idk correct me if wrong cus idk
WHY is no one appreciating my man Colress??? He has a unique, and banger soundtrack that fits his theme very well! He's neither a good nor bad guy, he's perfectly in-between.
@@Therealestfan I beat Red in HeartGold when my team members were only level 70. (For those of you who don't know, his Pokemon are all level 80 and above.)
@@thatuzikinnie6077 I agree! He's about to *purge* the entire *Planet* of all People and Pokémon besides himself and his revolution of Team Flare! His theme kind of sounds like your on a timer till Doomsday strikes and *purges* the Planet in return!
Hey how many of y'all knew Cyrus grew up in Sunyshore city? If you talk to an old woman in a house on the far right of the city, (near the ocean) she says she had a student named Cyrus who shunned people and preferred the company of machines.
@@Mqstodon only in the first 15 seconds does it sound intimidating. It sounds more like desert tune. And the drums sound good, but ghetsis did it better in my opinion.
@@teameclipse7763 are you okay? I never even said that i liked his tune it has a very slow build up and it doesn't have that good of a rhythm. I just think he has a better BOSS theme then this guy. It actually sounds like a team boss battle. Still prefer blue hair as a normal track but in my opinion child murderer does it better in the whole: ima kill you song. And if just mentioning my opinion makes you salty you probably shouldn't be in a comment section.

Lusamine actually scarred me from not only her chilling theme to what the actual setting was in the battle environment. Seeing frozen, encased pokemon while fighting broke my focus a lot and cost me a lot of battles. But that theme, God the violin with the octave high piece variation of the normal battle theme it sends chills down my spine ever time i hear it. not to mention the choir like singing that comes into play later in the song. Absolutely breathtaking
Let me fix that grammar for you. "Lusamine actually scared me, from not only her chilling theme, but from what the actual setting was in the battle environment. 49:25 Jesus christ I can't express in words how much I love that drop. ORAS might not have been the best game gameplay wise, but I gotta admit, they really nailed the OST remaster.
@Zandeel Remmington a lot of people loved gen 5's design and the wide majority of people hold it up as the best in the series. a lot of people initially hated zelda wind waker and now love it and think its amazing. tastes change
@Zandeel Remmington ive literally never seen a single person in the fanbase who shares that opinion lmao. all the gen 5 content i see on insta and twitter are super pro-gen 5 and its designs
God, the fifth gen always hits me in the feels so damn hard. That N and Ghetsis theme. Such masterpieces BW and BW2 were, definitely the pokemon game series at its peak.
Decisive Battle N was when I knew shit was going down. But knew deep down he wasn't a bad guy. Still though, what a battle indeed. Worthy of the insane music he gets
His theme always rings as this "this is a real fight, pay attention" and has these subtle, almost tragic sounding notes to it. It's why it's been my favorite for years.
@@religiousindustrialaliens In the grand scheme of things, all Pokemon Games are easy if you know what you're doing. BW/BW2 are imo one of the more difficult Pokemon games though. You could argue that Platinum may be harder though.
Team outfits in summary Team Rocket: Mafia Team Magma: Cultists Team Aqua: Pirates Team Galactic: Robots or Aliens(idk) Team Plasma:1: Knights 2: Ninjas Team Flare: Business Men n Women Team Skull: Gangsters Aether Foundation: Scientists Ultra Recon Squad: Aztecs
@@user-ow5ni6tx7y 8 months late, but hey. they probably only looked at the black, skin-tight suits and the balaclava and disregarded the Boots, the Vest and the Beret. the only people that are in allegiance with team plasma, who really are literal ninjas, are the shadow triad.
I just realized the chants in ghetsis are saying “ghetsis”. I love how much this song improves without the compression. Most of black and whites soundtrack is excellently designed with the ds limitations but you couldn’t hear most of the ghetsis theme aside from parts of the beat.
You know that scene from Spongebob where Squidward imagines Squilliam in his underwear and thinks that Squilliam is probably hot af? That probably won't apply to Ghetsis.
I can never get over how good N's theme is. It starts with some very sparkly techno, then the beat drops. It demands your attention. You realize that this is a serious fight. Then the sparkly techno bit disappears, whatever air instruments those are signalling the arrival of a king. A different set of sparkly techno bit serves as the undercurrent to those air instruments, as if the people are cheering for the king in his battle.
The final fight with N is honestly my favourite climax of any videogame. The music adds to this frantic tension and it builds up to N sending his dragon and you sending out dragon, approximately when the trumpets come in in the song. It’s just a climatic fight followed by a difficult and despairing fight with ghetsis
@@fight_and_die1573 Yeah no kidding, N's theme hits so hard. Out of the Pokemon game plots I really liked the B&W plot specifically. It felt much more personal since you constantly encountered N throughout the game and he was a complex person rather than being the single villain. This theme really captures that imo
CallMeCameron fr. I feel like they were TRYING to make him a twist villain, but ONE look at him and he looks exactly like a member of Team Flare. That and him wanting the world to be 'beautiful' was such a dead giveaway
Just gave you your 69th like. Gen 7 was one of my favorite games of all time. Z-moves weren't exactly great, but the trial system and the amount of cameos made it a fun and fresh experience.
ikr, and to be honest, while i have many pokemon games that i bought as a child... i've only ever finished moon and ultra sun because im too dumb to figure out where to go without constantly looking on the markers on the map on the bottom screen💀 but i've grown up with gen 7 because of that, i've replayed them at least 15 times each, and can now go entire save files without losing a single match (though sometimes it gets difficult), they're undoubtedly my favourite games in the franchise because the familiarity they bring, and every new save file i do i discover something new or gain a new appreciation for something about the game
I like Team Plasma my #1 favorite Although you are right. Guzma's theme is awesome. Definitely #2 in my list of favorites Lyzander is my third favorite
@Aaron Ramsey Definitely can agree, although as a kid I had problems in the first Lysandre fight, but everything also was way too easy, in the final Lysandre fight you even can choose to have Xerneas/Yveltal to beat him up
The themes for the Team Galactic Grunts and Commanders will always be among my favorites. I can’t help but smile when I listen to them; they’re fast and catchy, and I appreciate the vaguely futuristic, techno vibes to them. In terms of Boss music, though, ORAS Maxie/Archie win hands down. The song is almost too loud and rocking to listen to, and that’s what I love about it.
Team Magma grunts in R/S/E: Psshhhh this kid thinks he can get in our way! Let's teach 'em! Team Magma grunts in ORAS: "WHAT THE HELL IS THAT THING?!" " I DON'T KNOW IT'S LIKE A PERSON ONLY SMALLER WTF" "WELL GET IT THE HELL OUT OF HERE IT'S SCARING ME"
N's second battle theme will always be the perfect battle theme for an antagonist. When I hear it every time, it makes me think that the situation is REALLY critical and everything hinges with each decision I make.
Plumeria's theme is actually pretty f'n dope, I was too busy destroying her team to notice. Really gives me the 'I'm the older sibling and I'm gonna kick your ass for bullying my younger sibling' vibes.
Shouldn't Necrozma's themes have been included here? It is technically the villain of Ultra Sun & Moons main story, and isn't being controlled or manipulated by anyone.
@@ignistheultimate5682 Maybe, but like the previous comment said, the video's probably more geared towards human antagonists. Not that it really matters anyways, as Necrozma is in the Legendary Mons video.
Pearl was my first Pokémon game, I was quite surprised when I discovered that admins having their own menacing theme wasn't the standard in other games. Ok maybe the theme itself wasn't that menacing, that's just my Purugly and Skuntank PTSD speaking.
Gens 5 and 6 were sad times to be in the middle of the Evil Team totem pole. That said, if any admins had the honor of starting the trend I’m glad it was Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Their theme doesn’t go quite as hard or techno as I’d like/expect, but it’s still fun to listen to. It always puts a smile on my face.
Someguy1237 Oh, Toxicroak. I love Saturn, but he’s laughably easy to beat for that point in the game and his ace isn’t doing him any favors. The anime, on the other hand? That’s where his Toxicroak shined; I remember it being absolutely brutal and I enjoyed every second of it as a kid.
Fun fact! You can find a house somewhere I think in hoen but maybe somewhere else where a team magma and a team aqua grunt are in a romantic relationship
Gen 4 and 5 are obvious classics, but gen 7 has some of my favorite battle themes without a doubt. Team skull fights have great music and so do gladion and lusamine.
@@smjustinthejibanyan6328 Yeah! And it's mostly people who like *Gen 5* or *Gen 1* who critisises Gens 6 and 7 in *their* defence! It sickings me to see that some *Gen 1* and *Gen 5* fans think that *their* Gens are best when they're clearly not! All Gens are equal and that is that! Sorry, if your either a Gen 1 or 5 fan in advance, I just had to get that out
I've been playing since Pokemon's inception and Gen 6 and 7 has some of my all time favourite pokemon music, and just are two of my favourite pokemon games in general. To me, gen 6 had the best world to explore and gen 7 had the best story/characters (not to mention they both have a lot of great pokemon).
Colress will forever have a champion level theme. After listening to all of them over and over again, I just never understand what went through their heads to give Colress, in my opinion, one of the best themes to come out of a Pokemon game. Wear headphones too if you listen, you can literally feel the beat switching between ears at points. Unreal.
Team Rocket: The Godfather Team Rocket remnants: Home Alone Team Magma/Aqua: Eco-terrorists...? I don’t know their motives were stupid. Team Galactic: The quiet kid at school. Team Plasma: PETA Neo-Team Plasma: Pirates of PETA Team Flare: Only Team Flare is stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive... ah ah ah ah. Team Skull: Buford Van Stomm Aether Foundation: Team Plasma but better and worse at the same time. Team Yell: S.I.M.P.: Stopping Independently Minded Pokémon. Macro Cosmos: Generic greedy company that make a baddy bad and threatens to destroy everything.
My favorite antagonist from each game (SPOILERS!): RGBY/FRLG/HGSS: Giovanni. There's not much else to go on. Though, the mafia angle is simple and effective. Definitely the most grounded villain. RSE/ORAS: Courtney. She's deeply unnerving, and weirdly... _intimate._ Very creepy, very good. DPPL: Cyrus, of course. He's the only one of these people who's just a complete sociopath, to the extent of hating the very _concept_ of emotion. That's messed up. BW/B2W2: Colress, baby! He may just be my favorite non-Mon character period. He's calm, cool, intelligent, competent, pragmatic, professional, affable, and his theme is one of the most unique in the series. X/Y: AZ. I'd say he qualifies. The fact that there is a canonical _genocide_ in Pokémon is incredibly bold. Even more impressive is that they actually made somebody that far gone entirely sympathetic. SM: Lusamine. One of the most vile people in children's gaming, she combines the cold fanaticism of a deranged mind with the uncomfortable realism of an abusive parent. Just like Ghetsis, but more subtle and manipulative. It's too bad I detest her Ultra characterization. USUM: Guzzlord. Can it count? I don't know, how would you describe a mindless creature that wants only to _eat?_ *_Forever?_* SWSH: Eternatus. Let's be honest, the only other "real" villains are Sordbert and Shielbert, and pardon my Kalossian, but _fuck those guys._ But this thing is *_terrifying._* What is it? What does it _want?_ We don't know. What we _do_ know is that it _far_ exceeds the power of _any other Pokémon we've _*_ever_*_ seen._ Unknowable, and unstoppable. Eep.
Thinking about Eternatos, are they ever going to bring it back? Seems like Gen 8 will end soon and there's not much lore about this insanity of a Pokémon, I'd like to know more about it before it can't ever be brought back in a meaningful way, ever
Until she fuses I honestly prefer her theme when she did not fuse with Nihilego And now here's a meme no~one cares about. Lunala>Again? Your mother dressed you like this? That woman dresses her like that weird thing... My Lillie won't be dressing like that flying parasite, she is not like that. Lunala>Do you like it, Lillie? Lillie>Ah! I like it lots, Nebby!
giovanni: this dude dangerous but has honor. archie and maxie: time for a 10 year old girl to scold them. cyrus: HOLY SHi- ghestis: what a massive jerk, poor N. the dude from x/y: totally not evil. guzma: woah... this guy is deep and relatable. lusamine: ghestis suddenly seems like an awesome parent. team yell: punchable, very punchable. villain of sword and shield: forgetable.
imo props to the percussion but for me that makes it very hard to listen to... there's nothing really there for my brain to pick up so unfortunately for me it's always going to get skipped....
1:08:26 ah the beautiful intense music of lusamine always gets me hyped. an overall great villain on top of that, going as far as rejecting her own family
Honestly, i found gen 7 overall very underrated. Yeah, there's long cutscenes. But the storyline was amazing, the music even more so, and there was certainly a level of difficulty within the games.
In my humble opinion 1: all of gen 5, even the regular grunt music is more menacing than the past generation and future generations. 2:Guzma theme 5:lusamine theme 3:skull admin theme 4: Lysandre 5: USUM Cyrus
@@wapson2176 team rocket's theme is honestly catchy. plasma? it's fine and fitting but eh...not my favorite also considering there is like two gen 5 games and I've played neither but heard 1 plasma theme is there two different team plasma themes or is it the same?
@@mizu1458 that's probably the one I constantly hear then... also I will say USUM Lysandre's theme was a improvement but I did like his original theme sounded surprisingly violent for a villian as normally composed as him
Cyrus as a character scares the ever living shit out of me. Every other leader wants something. A better world, money, freedom for Pokémon, belonging, at the very least something. Cyrus doesn't want any of that. He wants oblivion. For him, and the world. And he would stand against the gods of time and space themselves if they would try to stop him.
For me gen 6 and it's soundtrack holds a special place in my heart cuz Pokemon X was my first ever pokemon game and I've played it through like 8 times maybe more❤️❤️😅
Man, I thought that I was young with my first game being Diamond! That being said, I have a massive soft-spot for XY and want to go back to Kalos someday.

@@toe_sucker_4165 yes, thats so true, or magma/aqua bosses have such similarities with their grunts.

The original timestamp was correct.
Plumeria's theme is actually pretty f'n dope, I was too busy destroying her team to notice. Really gives me the 'I'm the older sibling and I'm gonna kick your ass for bullying my younger sibling' vibes.
Yeah say that line again after your crowbar gets some decent level and doesn't get bopped by my fricken eevee
I killed her sexy lizard with my sand castle.
Shouldn't Necrozma's themes have been included here?
It is technically the villain of Ultra Sun & Moons main story, and isn't being controlled or manipulated by anyone.
I think they mean not Pokemon but instead actual trainers and leaders but I agree.
This video is for villainous teams. As such, Necrozma doesn't count.
@@starberrysparkler This video is for villains and antagonists, not villainous teams, so Necrozma does count.
@@ignistheultimate5682 Maybe, but like the previous comment said, the video's probably more geared towards human antagonists. Not that it really matters anyways, as Necrozma is in the Legendary Mons video.
And lusamine shouldn’t be included because she was possessed by nihilego and in the second battle LITERALLY fused with the Pokémon
When he said "Skull Uh Uh" *i felt that*
Ghetsis’ first theme is raw intensity squeezed into musical form with those drums.
That Purugly and that Skuntank haunt my nightmares. Toxicroak, uh, he's there I guess?
Someguy1237 Oh, Toxicroak. I love Saturn, but he’s laughably easy to beat for that point in the game and his ace isn’t doing him any favors. The anime, on the other hand? That’s where his Toxicroak shined; I remember it being absolutely brutal and I enjoyed every second of it as a kid.

The sound lead for team Neo Plasma went absolutely nuts, love it.
Bro, I'll have to admit that the Magma/Aqua leader team theme tried to seduce me with those starting trumpets and it was very effective 😔🤘
Missed opportunity for a "super effective" joke...

Cyrus's battle theme just feels like you meet a legendary boss who has been waiting to fight a worthy opponent for a long time.
It really does feel like the player is overcoming insurmountable odds. The beat feels like you're ascending.
😄
Oh man, that ghetsis theme sure gives the goosebumps and still an epic music I've ever heard my entire life!!! So much memories 👍
"Dennis... Dennis..."
Cyrus' theme gives me the feeling of "If you fail to defeat me, you and everyone you love will cease to exist..."

Societal expectations of women, but especially those in high positions.
Colress will forever have a champion level theme. After listening to all of them over and over again, I just never understand what went through their heads to give Colress, in my opinion, one of the best themes to come out of a Pokemon game. Wear headphones too if you listen, you can literally feel the beat switching between ears at points. Unreal.
Team Rocket: The Godfather
Team Rocket remnants: Home Alone
Team Magma/Aqua: Eco-terrorists...? I don’t know their motives were stupid.
Team Galactic: The quiet kid at school.
Team Plasma: PETA
Neo-Team Plasma: Pirates of PETA
Team Flare: Only Team Flare is stayin’ alive, stayin’ alive... ah ah ah ah.
Team Skull: Buford Van Stomm
Aether Foundation: Team Plasma but better and worse at the same time.
Team Yell: S.I.M.P.: Stopping Independently Minded Pokémon.
Macro Cosmos: Generic greedy company that make a baddy bad and threatens to destroy everything.
Team Aqua's motives are starting to make alot more sense now
My favorite antagonist from each game (SPOILERS!):
RGBY/FRLG/HGSS: Giovanni.
I don't know, how would you describe a mindless creature that wants only to _eat?_ *_Forever?_*
SWSH: Eternatus. Eep.
I don't think that eternatus us stronger than the creation trio but u guess you could argue its stronger than the hoenn creation trio and regigigas
I'm with you on the Colress love and the terror of Eternatus the Eldritch Pokemon Horror.
Thinking about Eternatos, are they ever going to bring it back? Seems like Gen 8 will end soon and there's not much lore about this insanity of a Pokémon, I'd like to know more about it before it can't ever be brought back in a meaningful way, ever
guzzlord does count

Honestly, i found gen 7 overall very underrated. Yeah, there's long cutscenes. But the storyline was amazing, the music even more so, and there was certainly a level of difficulty within the games.
