This BTW team is maybe the toughest matchup in all of high school football. They fit their system to the strengths of their talent. They spread you out with a bunch of fast skill guys and they have qb that is a legitimate dual-threat. Don't let one game skew your perception. Central has lost to both Grayson and Camden County, and BTW lost in GA in 2009. SFL has the talent edge on ATL, but the quality of their top teams are usually very similar.
The 2007 team had a huge senior class, so you we're playing against kids making their first hs start. I was at that game and the difference in experience was evident in the dominance within the OL/DL. That NW team also had Teddy Bridgewater at WR (Finished the season at qb, and now leads in the heisman race).
Florida has the best football talent period. This is the same Miami team that Won the Pop Warner championship two years back. 2008-2009 long beach ploy did beat a recovering Miami northwestern team.2007-2008 Miami northwestern was Loaded with D1 talent most of them are in the NFL now.st.Thomas did blowout beat de la sale,so did Lakeland a couple years back. Don Bosco Prep is a good team, granted they recruit in near by states due to there center location.Miami central will blow them out.
Big up to Jimbo Fisher for knowing talent when he sees it. Treon Harris is a bigtime player and he will learn from one of the most well respected quarterback minds in the country in Coach Fisher. Cant wait to see this kid in the Gold and Garnett! Treon Bring some of those BTW players with you! do work
The 2007 Miami NW team was one of the best, not 2008. Don Bosco didn't even play Manatee last year; they backed out last-minute just like they did in 2010! The only time Don Bosco followed through was in 2011 when they were loaded and won by six because of two bad punt snaps. Florida's top 5 would beat out any other state's top 5 while winning at least 4-of-5. Unfortunately, ESPN airs teams based on their ESPNU300 players and not team quality, so we don't get to see it happen.
To all you outsiders living in these so-called football hotbeds of Texas, Ohio, and California let this video be a reminder to you that South Florida produces the best football players on the planet! Booker T. played Dade County football at its finest, and Norcross is lucky they left points on the field with a bunch of penalties!!! #DadeCountySwaggedOut
LOL @ random comment talking trash about how much greater Cali football is. Get real. There is a reason the south produces the most college and NFL players and southern colleges dominate the sport. Find me one college team who doesn't have a player from FL on it. Can find plenty without a Cali player.
I agree with your comment Bobby Mo. Miami has speed and talent advantages. The difference is GA has great coaches who build their teams like small colleges. BT. is the typical Miami team with small but speedy guys and a great coach (for a change). GA would win most games against Miami teams bcuz they are bigger and will most likely control the lines of scrimmage.. Only St. Thomas, BT, & Central (when they play D) can consistently beat GA schools. BTW I'm from Miami.
Texas is and forever shall be the best football state for high school football, maybe not by much, but it still is. Now there can be an argument made saying florida produces more individual talent and i might agree with you, but on a quality of team basis i give it to Texas. Theres a reason Texas teams dont have to travel out of state too often to play because there are so many great teams in the state.
Syprintfeed, I give it to you that the Atlanta area does have great football programs and great talent to match, but talent wise alone, its South Florida clear cut. The Booker T. game was a taste of what great coaching and awesome Dade County will give you. South Florida always had talent but never programs like the ones of late. You're also right about the Central vs Grayson Game last year, but Central didnt have a quarterback and went the rest of the season running the wildcat offense.
I'm not even from flordia but hands down the best high school football in the country. It's not even close. California and Texas are second. Followed by Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Hey David Morton..... just because Norcross took it under the chin against a very talented Booker T. Washington team, please don't talk about how great California football is. Remember Crenshaw coming into Atlanta a few years ago and getting waxed. Georgia and Florida is clearly has the best High School football programs the country. As posted earlier, the best conference in the nation (SEC) is loaded with talent from both of these states. California is not even a factor
This was one game against an obviously overrated Norcross team. I love when these small market fans talk trash on Cali football... I guess you'd have to be here to understand.... The weekly level of competition can't be put into words. I'm a Centennial (corona) backer. Last year 12 of the 16 teams we played were ranked in the top 20 in the state. Our last 3 games of our season were against the 2nd, 3th, 5th ranked teams in the country! Finished 14-2.Congrats on a HUGE win. Good luck!
Wait till they get to college and have access to weight lifting programs + meal plans= your Jason Pierre Paul's, Chad Johnson's, and Andre Johnson's. Of course the TX programs that I'm referring to are the Allen's, SLC, Katy's, Westlake, Lake Travis... (have and abundance of resources). Schools like Skyline and Desoto have better college prospects, but have lower quality of teams. Booker T, Central, St. Thomas and University have the best of both. Show me a metro area with 4 better teams.
I remember playing norcross the same year of this video. They were a rather soft team. The main competitive edge they had was the amount of athletes they had compared to other schools
You're also negating the fact that most of these kids transfer to the top programs. Free Agency's big down in SFL, where in TX and other states, it's not as easy (see SLC). Remember when Miami high, Gables, Jackson, CC, Ridge, Killian, etc... had good teams? Top overtown/allapattah kids almost exclusively go to BTW. University High's diluted Dillard and other broward schools. The 7v7 (BTW excluded) culture has diluted the quality of mid-teir teams, which is why teams like ELY can't compete OOS.
Some of these comments are obviously coming from emotional points of view instead of facts. I hate saying which state is better because it's all about matchups. Let's try this: list 3-5 teams from Texas, GA, Fla, Cali, and I guess Ohio, that could consistently go to any state and dominate. Since I'm from Florida my picks are Booker T., St. Thomas, and Manatee. (Central's defense is suspect at times). I'm interested to see your opinions.
Florida has the upper edge in football, yet it depends on who's playing. Norland and Blanche Ely aren't the best from Florida, but they going to Georgia this weekend to play Stephenson and MLK. I think Norland has a better chance of beating Stephenson, then Blanche Ely beating MLK. Now let's just say they both loose then people gone say Georgia is better. On the other states I will say Texas is a powerhouse and California, but I can't say Georgia as of yet.
Just because you guys have nothing to do and the whole town goes to the game doesn't mean you have the best talent!! And the only reason we leave the state is to show the rest of the nation what the Elite looks like!! There isn't a team in Texas that could play with these guys. Along with Miami Central and St. Thomas!!
gjhenry.... Last year Miami Central got blown off the field by Grayson. This year was your turn, but its a hard argument to say that S. Florida has the best football. I will still put Atlanta football as one of the best along with S. Florida.
Just like your 3A champ Stephenville? Last year they lost to a team from Mexico and still won states. They barely beat Ft. Lauderdale Dillard, and Dillard's they've been blown out of every game. Dillard's a perennial 5-6 win team. I think that there's so much more talent (translates to the next level) in SFL, when compared to Texas. Most texas kids that come from big programs are almost fully developed and have a smaller ceiling for improvement. Some of these Booker T kids barely lift weights.
David, the reason fans talk trash about Cali teams is "DE LA SALLE". They travel more than any team from Cali and lose the bulk of their OOS games. This same De La Salle team has dominated Cali for 20 years and blasted you guys 48-28 last year. I'm not talking trash I actually think certain teams from Cali can dominate in Fl. because of the offensive sophistication of most CA teams. Just no big OOS wins to pad the resume. List 5 teams you think would match up nationally.
ehh much respect for FL..but i witnessed Long beach Poly in 2008 beat Miami North Western in miami...and that Miami North Western Team was supposed to be one of the best teams in the decade...and Don Bosco prep in NJ has spanked Florida's best teams each year, last year was Manatee and this year they play central. not saying FL doesnt have great players and teams but lets be honest alot of those teams are mediocre in other states.
Rs M Jimbo Fisher ousted the man who MADE fsu and the crappy florida state fans don't even care. Must have something to do with their short attention span... which probably has something to do with how much pot they smoke/get caught with.
Bringing up srephenville is dumb, there 3a and irrelevant. You need to look at 4a/5a (mostly 5a) thats where tye best teams are. Not only is texas more competitive and have better teams spread out, they also have more d1 committs than any other state in the country and thats a fact so really nothing your saying is true or factual. Good teams from dfw metroplex that are as good as florida: Allen, SLC, Desoto, coppell. And then a team thats having an off year is euless trinity

I see a lot of RG3 in him. Could be a perfect fit in Roper's offense. Welcome to Gator Nation!

Exactly
false lakeland dreadnaughts.. more championships in the last 20 yrs than any school
@@unique863 Lakeland is in Florida…
three of the top ten schoollls in the nation are public neighborhood schools from Dallas. Desoto, Allen and Coppell
I had no idea who this guy was until he flipped to Florida. Now I don't know whether i'm more excited about him or Grier.
I feel the same way
If he was taller he'd be the top ranked qb
He’s 5’11-6’0
Treon Harris will be the next Russell Wilson at FSU. Natural player maker. If Russell can excel at his size, Treon can too.
That's why we're number 1 in the country Booker T all the way F5

Man that receiving corp was small but deadly
Manatee, Booker-T, Miramar, STA, and Plant would be my five for Florida.
I remember playing norcross the same year of this video. They were a rather soft team. The main competitive edge they had was the amount of athletes they had compared to other schools
Dang...Norcross is a very good team too...
Miami fans still dont believe he's a college QB. Hes gonna ball out in Tally

FSU has a beast coming in
Nope, he's going to Florida sorry

I expected a lot more from Norcross.
miami-dade have talent.
I like kevin mouhon
Needs a ton of work mechanically but has all the tools
Jimbo will fix that.
