We like to honor our great thinkers by parroting their words. But we are not continuing their method of thinking for relevance today. We need to adapt and develop new ideas based on old systems. Deen Dayal Upadhyay is given as an example of one such great thinker whose ideas have not been turned into a robust school of thought by those claiming to follow him. Equally problematic are those who appropriate ideas without acknowledgment to build their own ideas. What we need are paramparas as systems of thought with continuity and fresh developments. On the other hand, the West has developed numerous schools of thought in the past century that are well-established in academic circles and taught systematically. We must do this as per our tradition of smriti writing.
The collective self of a nation must manifest as its diverse institutions. These must all be in harmony with its dharma or else there will be built-in conflict. The same collective essence reincarnates again and again as a series of nations, and hence modern India is the reincarnation of ancient Bharat. We need this fresh birth as well as continuity.
The lecture examines the Leftist schools of thought that emerged after independence and are the reincarnations of Marxism. It takes dharmic scholars to task for not doing adequate purva-paksha of these opponents, and proposes how we must proceed to develop our own new schools of thought.

As a Westerner I want to say how much I appreciate this endeavor. I do so hope that India will be able to successfully implement something like Sri Aurobindo's Integral paradigm...or whatever best suits India in an integrated way. The US, unfortunately, does not have any such deep understanding to draw upon. The US has always been primarily a fundamentalist Christian nation with an appetite for material goods. I really don't think that makes it authentically "Marxist" in any way regardless of what the universities teach. Materialism is the underlying lesson - backed by a deeply flawed idea of "science". If those in the US who stridently oppose Marxism and "Liberals" actually had to live the truth of what they preach, the place might look and act a lot more like the potential of India - which would be quite a good thing because of the ground of personal knowing and responsibility being inseparable from inherent universal spirit. That particular idea is anathema to the vast majority of Americans. Unfortunately. What is happening now in the US LEADERSHIP is certainly not Marxism but it is horrifyingly materialistic and fundamentalist. While India does not need or want Neoliberalism (marxism for corporations) it most certainly does not want what the US is on the very dangerous brink of being in an official way...a spiritual black hole.
My heart is with India all the way here. Thank you Rajiv and friends. You have explained your interest here in the most clear and uncompromising way.

jk44 v2 - Thank you for your kind response. Yes I notice that the experience of these ideologies is somewhat different there and here. I'm looking more to India to actually solve some of these difficulties because of your long history of meditative compassion at the core of being. Western acceptable behavior is primarily competitive and acceptance by God is the obvious presence of wealth here - whether consciously understood or not. The Gayatri seems the exact opposite of such punitive metaphysics. Be well.

studio 2020 modern western system is based on blind materialism, over individualism in material life , zero spiritualism, competition base life , zero connect with nature, abrahmic my way or high way, chemicals. And the result is in last 150 years is that we have environmental crisis, water scarcity, pollution, global warming, health issues.
When westerners started making modern machines and now computer based automation to save the time of men but today even after all this do we even have time for family. So this system is flawed. In this system education is only given so that one can get job.

I am 100 % with you. How can these intitutions be formed? Are there peer reviewed journals ( or a Dharmic equivalent) ?
I believe we have a role model Adi Shankaracharya - look at how he set up institutions to perpetuate Vedanta.
We have means of communication never dreamed of even 25 years ago. India has brilliant minds, surely these can be harnessed.

His concepts of Assimilation, Digestion & U-turn are brilliant contributions & hopefully an eye-opener to all the Acharyas teaching in English and other foreign languages.

But since 2005 to 2014 in the regime of Congress (I) and its RAW, Nepal is suffering from the Christians' and Communist evil activities in this world Hindu kingdom. Since 2015 the BJP- Narendra Modi in power in India. We hope- BJP and Narendra Modi the PM of India will do for their best to restore the world Hindu kingdom and Hindu monarchy. Śrī Rajiv jī,
"They should also learn Western thought first. However, Western thought was systemized as a school of thought, and the Indian thought was not. A person must study with great discipline and prove to his teacher in paper after paper that he has understood Freudianism and that he knows Foucault, and so on. By the time they are done, they have actually assimilated it."
This is something I never did do in college, to embrace Westernism via these kinds of classes. I really struggled in Western philosophy class, because something didn't feel right, something was off. A lot of it didn't make sense, either. What you have just said here is how viruses get "downloaded" into a person's mind - they have become infected by Westernism because they did not employ "safety techniques," such as knowing your Indic traditions thoroughly and examining this strictly from a pūrva-pakṣa perspective, with Indic lenses instead of blindly getting into this without knowing what you are getting into.
And this is something that I will not do, either, getting into studies of Westernism UNLESS it is written on by you and your allies. I gathered that from your example of the East Indian Company men, young men who were sent too early (without being "toughened" as westerners) became Indianized. I would say in these early cases that they were becoming "naturalized" as humans, away from something unnatural such as westernization. My goal in this life is to be THOROUGHLY INDIANIZED, or re-indianized after lifetimes since I last lived in Bhāratavarṣa. I realize now that my wanting to be white and living in an anglo country before my present life was extremely short-sighted, based on base feelings such as ego and jealousy of others' fortunes. I'm paying for this error in spades.
Carrying this further, if you want to sway people to our side, consider going after atheists and "spiritual, but not religious people." Also consider going after the "nones," who are not only not in the above categories, but don't want to even consider themselves atheists because they may have already reached a non-dualist state subconsciously, but don't have the appropriate Indic/Saṃskṛta vocabulary to understand what they have actually experienced intellectually. I fall in this third category, and I have come to become much more aware than I was 4 years ago.
Consider what that means. I was not sufficiently Westernized, never mind was I Christianized. My deafness created this rather unique circumstance. How is this different? First of all, what am I going to u-turn back to? Why would I want to go back to a lower form of consciousness which doesn't include Westernism, but includes Native Animism? (meaning without language, western norms, and religion - I remember this state of being because I was seven and a half years old before I was found to be deaf, AND I missed out entirely on understand television programs until I was 14 years old for lack of subtitles and have never understood any radio programs). My previous life-long "subconscious" awareness left me without answers. I found a lot of things in my culture offensive and just plain unfair, yet I had to live with it as I didn't know how to fight it. It created a lot of anger in my life.
Much of this has become ameliorated through the years and years of seeking and eventually coming to realize that I am Sanātanī, all of us are Sanātanī. Find people like me and open them up to Sanātana Dharma. We'll be on the edges of this cancer and working inward towards the center of this adharmic cancer.
    Pranāma!

Due to lack of Indian thinking in indians since it was removed from our education, Families with good cultural lineage still maintain that thinking while Most families are being eroded with lack of Indian thinking messed up with Western Frame of Mind ending up in conversions.

Rajiv Ji makes a very pertinent point of encouraging to build school of thought or parampara, this approach nourishes the vitality of the ancient thought. However i see Rajiv ji usually downplaying the systemic issues created by Post-modern thought in western world too. Professors like Jordan Peterson and many others who are on the forefront of battling the pathologies of Post-modern thought in western societies is very pertinent point to look at. For instance one can look at the whole issue of Bill C-16 Introduced in Canada, which aims to safe guard the dignity of transgender community but buy legislating the language that needs to be used. This became such a big battle, this is the battle against Post-modernism. So is the case with battle against political correctness, where in left liberals are now being constantly confronted not necessarily by alt right but by people from academia.

Identifying with your roots, you culture, your religion , your tradition, and your historical journey spanning thousands of years is what makes one mature and ‘deep’ along with improving self belief to the levels unseen hitherto.
Facebook and ipl are making this ‘young generation’ dumb, actually.
RM’s ‘breaking india’ shd be made compulsory in schools.
He is far more learned and mature than many other overrated ‘thinkers’ .

There is a need to position people of hindu culture as the one oppressed by the foreign rules and needing emancipation with marxist means. That would attract current left scholars to link up with India with their frame of thinking. The Gurukul parampara was unsubscribed by the English charter act of 1813 and Macaulay Resolution of 1835 leading to loss of value in scholarship of indian education system over next 200 years. The rot continues and the current govt. is perhaps watching helplessly not sure where to start. Shri Rajiv Malhotra has created good starting point with his number of books. If our industrialists and rich people could sponsor scholarships equivalent to 'Fulbrights' that will help. But they will need an infrastructure that would deliver the scholar. Perhaps Infinity Foundation is that infrastructure to start.

Rajivji.. The spirit in us is Jiva, not Jivatma. In the Gita, Shri Krishna called our spirit Dehi or the embodied one and Jiva, that which gives us life. Jiva is the Kshara or decaying purusha, which decays in akshara purusha or Jivatma. This means the connection of individual consciousness into the universal consciousness of Jivatma. Jiva is not Atma; if it was, the upanishads would not describe it decaying. Jiva is merely a divided presence of Jivatma in us. About that Shri Krishna says in the Gita, the Atma is undivided but is present in us as if divided (13.16).

One of the disadvantages of not having solid, institutional support network (or an ecosystem) is that Infinity Foundation / RM has to very publicly disclose a lot of strategy and immediate tactics to generate tangible support from the dharmically inclined in academia, industry, and general public.
Contrast this with the well-funded & deep rooted opposition ecosystem, that works in secret and puts into motion #BreakingIndia policies covertly with the attack vector coming to light only after it has already matured, viable, and its effects are being felt in the Indian body politic.
Unfortunately, this startup problem can only be surmounted if there is a critical mass of support for the work RM is doing and it is up to ordinary patriotic and dharmic Indians to ensure this level is reached in the quickest time possible, since those with resources (the industrialist, Government, media, urban Indian #EnglishSlaveClass) are all solidly aligned with the #BreakingIndia western viewpoint that actively works against united, dharmic, integrated, truly sovereign India that understands its true glorious past, actively preserves its dharmic heritage, and proudly promotes a #GrandIndianNarrative.
