- Well this sure was a fun day! So fun that I had to split it up into 2 videos. The reason I am doing that is so that this video remains a fun, light hearted off road episode, and the next will be strictly about the recovery and why the issue was so urgent with the recent Bush wildfire in the area. Stay tuned for the next couple videos explaining the events that unfolded. It was crazy!

What do you guys think of these offroad adventure videos? They seem to get less vieelws than anything related to camping, but I love making them!
I like the offroad video's, but they make the old stomach acid flow freely. One of my worst fears is to get hung up on rocks. I can deal with mud. Vaughn
Haha that's funny david - I am the opposite! I dont mind getting hung up on rocks and scraping over them, but mud freaks me out. I've had some bad mud recoveries.. well, you've probably seen the videos! Haha

Tarantula hawk wasps, glad you got out when you did , that fire blew up quick. Az 4x4 recovery has a vid of the slurry bombers helping them out of 4 peaks.

The G-Wagon in its natural habitat. Front, center, and rear lockers plus 4WD Lo. It's a beast. Sadly, it's been given a bad name by hollywood musicians.

Be careful out there. The FS is handing out big fines for being off the marked roads. How did the xterra make that line look so easy? lol
That's why I like dirt bikes, or dual sports. We don't have desert where I am from, but we have plenty of mud. Did I say mud? Can you say mud? I knew you could. Now I did like the hill, and puddle jumping is fun too. Especially on a motorcycle. Woohoo! Good show Phil. Take care man and stay healthy. Vaughn

I absolutely LOVE the gladiator! There are pros and cons for sure, and if you havent owned a jeep before it might be a different truck. But this thing feels like my JK with a bed, and 10x smoother haha
Great vid man! I gotta bring my kayak out there next time, hell, I'm bringing the whole off road trailer to spend a couple nights at the coves. The offroad adventure vids are great, keep 'em coming!
I was just there at 4 peaks and Butcher Jones last Monday and Tuesday testing the Raptor (Breaking the Raptor) and man it was so crispy and now the fire is at over 110 k acres

How would you compare a jeep to 🤦♂️ g wagon .. try the rover firsts . G wagon are with the land cruiser and defender .
And neither the G Wagon nor the Nissan have a winch. Either they are VERY BRAVE or St_pid. Unfortunately there are Pros and Cons regarding a LOOOOOOONG wheel base vehicle. Luckily you have a decent winch.

We're definitely brave AND stupid... I had a tow strap and some MaxTrax, we were good to go. I was driving the XTerra.

The wheelbase is actually pretty short on those things. About 113 inches. Only 2 doors are much shorter

What kind of tires were on that g wagon?. and was there a lift on it??
35x12 R18 BFG KM2's. It's on a ~2" poly spacer lift that I'm going to be changing out for taller-than-stock springs for the same lift height.

@@diaryofasummer I do get some rubbing on full steering lock and full articulation... But that could be because I'm on the original 21 yr. old springs and shocks, and the shocks are basically dead at this point, which is why I'm going to upgrade the suspension a bit.

They aren't cheap! He's had it for 10 years he said and uses it quite a bit
@@Down2Mob I'm the G-Wagen guy. The G is almost 21 yrs old now. I purchased in 2009 for *well* under $30k. Put on a 2" lift and some 35" MTs and been wheeling it that way ever since. Nice to meet you on the trail! Glad we both made it out before that fire really took over.

Those are actually Turantula hawks/hornets they eat turantulas not murder hornets from asia
