Slightly Faster 0-60, $3k cheaper, better equipped, & better looking. The Si better be a track beast to overcome the deficit that the Forte GT Manual has put it in!
Just put a deposit on the 6 speed manual today. Had to buy it out of state to find a white one! Several dealers wanted 2 to 3 thousand over list. I was able to pay list (times have changed)!! Can't wait to pick it up! Also, way more options than the Si!
Probably the best review of this car on UA-cam. Excellent video. Little bit of a nube question but if you put an aftermarket intake on it does that void the warranty?
Really like this car as an alternative to the SI. I do however, wish they’d make it in a hatchback version. That’d make my decision easier. $5-10k less than a Mazda 3 turbo hatch, and $10+k less than a VW GTI. Very competitive for the money.
I like the new design of the 2022 and 23 forte. The 19-21 has a timeless look to it, despite the older badge. Wish that they will bring the blinker lights off the bumper and up to the rear lights where they should be. Also black interior in the roof and pillars for the lxs would be nice, but I understand not everyone likes the dark 😅
Great review man! I bought a 2020 forte gt since then I’ve put jb4, second cat and res delete and intake. I’m still in love 20,000 miles later! Thought about upgrading to the new revised one but I think I like the 2020-2021 little better as far as looks go!
@Ed Findlay I do like the badges on the 22 but not enough for me to change to a new model. Also the heated seats and bigger screen are nice as well. I also would miss my Porsche style head lights.
Yeah I like the badge but that’s about it, and frankly, I think our old badge looks great with the overall design of the 20-21. I also don’t really like the placement of the new badge on the steering wheel. It’s probably perfectly in the middle but it looks weird.
@@RussiaDaily yeah I agree 100%. There’s so much to love about the 20-21 models. The new ones look like they are trying really hard with all the red in the bumpers and accents. Plus trying to get a decent deal on them right now is hard. Im going to be buying mine at the end of July next year after the lease is up.
@@scraps0233 I would totally do that. I traded out of a v6 charger for mine last year, same 0-60 with a lot less weight and superb mpg. I’m not gonna buy a 2022 forte ever, I’ll keep my 21 and if I want a different car it will be a whole new upgrade, like a Genesis or an ev6 gt. ;P
Thank you great review. I haven't needed LSD since college. Waiting for my current car to die this is surely in the running for the next car. Considering a Gti however I don't know if they are THAT much better. Tbh would hate buying premium gas with these prices too. Does anyone know how long these tires last and how much do they cost to replace?
if you are looking to build power, stick to the GTI it's a lot faster with very few mods. For saving gas probably this car. I would pick both in manual despite the GTI having a DSG option, I had a mk6 GTI with a dsg and now a MK7 with a manual and I prefer manual.
I have a 2021 FORTE GT 6sp, I did put a Panda motors piggie back system on it and MAN IS THAT CAR FUN TO DRIVE. It REALLYYY woke up that computer. I bet the Honda SI doesn't have a 10 yr power trian warranty.
I’m tired of people insisting on letting the world know that they are a an enthusiast just because they like to drive a manual transmission car, the dct is clearly the better choice in this car
@AIDAHAR210 my 2024 Forte GT with the DCT is very smooth...both upshifts and downshifts. This is my first DCT but it feels as smooth as any auto transmission I've driven..I've been driving since 1975. This Forte GT2 is just a economy car with lots of nice features...and alot more power than any car of this class that I've owned. Kia did a very nice job with this car.
When I drove the car, it was NOT better than the Si. I currently have an Si and it was not good for me. I'm very particular as well when it comes to stuff though. But also the gas mileage for the car is terrible and it's a manual so I see that as an issue
Terrible? I average 32-35 HWY MPG in my 2022 GT-M in sport mode (which I just use to go to work, I have a 5th gen 4 Runner as well. The gas mileage on this car is fantastic.
Mechanical differential, better handling from type R suspension components, and a more reliable transmission and power plant makes the Si the better performance vehicle. The Forte GT is a good car for value but ultimately it just depends what you prioritize.
Well for track purposes, yes, the Si dominates. But for DD purposes (fun in the city and HWs), its a very good alternative. The 1.6t is not bad, it’s one of Kia’s most reliable engines. Most Si owners I know dont really track their cars, they mostly care about beating mustangs and camaros in straight lines lol (when they mod)
@@M4B21S88 have a widebody charger scatpack for straight line stuff. I'll probably just run a tune/dp and flex fuel kit with some suspension work on the 22 Si.

As someone that has owned both a Honda and a Kia, I will walk before I drive another Kia. Horrible vehicles. I will however continue to buy Hondas. I was in a Kia going 40mph when a truck pulled out in front of me from less than 30 feet. Needless to say, I hit him square in the side of his truck. Seat belt failed, airbags failed. My head went through the windshield. Thankful I was driving the speed limit. I probably wouln't be here if I had been going much fastet. Drive a Kia at your own risk.
