- Live at the Bottom Line in NYC, July 29, 1983. Includes:
Fatter (The Rolling Stones' "Shattered")
Whole Lotta Lunch (Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love")
We Got The Beef (The Go-Gos' "We Got The Beat")
My Bologna
OMFG - I was at this show!!!! Had no idea it was being video'd! Looks fantastic. One of the greatest nights of my life, Dr Demento was the first half and top-billed, he also had Benny (Shaving Cream) Bell perform - after the show I met Benny Bell, he took me backstage and introduced me to the Dr for the first time - a while later Al & Bermuda came back & Dr D introduced me to Al. I had been writing to them already but this was the first time meeting them. 30 years today, holy mackerel.
Did the show in person look as colorful as this recording of it?
"Whole Lotta Love" was fantastic.
I'm struck by how on these early clips he relies on being silly. But you can see in his "lunch" bit a glimpse of the showman to come. Very nice clip! Thanks for posting.
Jim's unintentional solo at 3:28 is kinda funny. "We got the..." *awkwardly looks at Al*
Whole Lotta Lunch was so darn awesome, especially the way he did it in this video.
Thanks for the post.
The song "My Bologna" is a parody of "My Sharona" by The Knack.
Kurt Cobain once wrote "Weird Al Yankovic is a musical genius "
Lol. AJ in the front row?
Well, I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and answer this question and the other one.
Lasagna wasn't released until about five years after '83, which is when this recording is from. "Rocky Road" was played as a full song until '85, which would explain the absence in the food medley of '83 and '84.
so classic
Hahaha lmao so darn funny!
"Fatter" sounds so epic, I don't know why.
@LisaMynx Part 1 was removed because it contained a parody - A PARODY, MIND YOU, NOT THE ORIGINAL RECORDING - of a Don Henley song. It will return to UA-cam soon.
I thought fatter was a sequel to fat
Weird Al is so fucking corny, but actually talented. He should have let out more of a tribal "lunch" scream. Then again, I'm comparing him to Robert Plant, so, yeah... you get the gyst.
part one (with Eat It, Spameater, Feel Like Throwing Up, Avocado and Take Me To The Liver)?
Renan Jackson it had Rye Or The Kaiser, Flatbush Avenue, Eat It, Spameater, Fell Like Throwing Up, Avocado
