This is awesome! Your a true engineer, fabricator, machinists, welder, designer. This was a joy to watch! Building my own fel and backhoe for my tractor is one of my goals. I subbed! I plan to watch all your videos.
Neat design and well constructed. So nice to assemble when all your parts are laser cut. Only suggestion would be change the ball ends on your hydraulic rams (5:40), otherwise this will not last long. You have a stationary pin, through a ball end. What part is going to turn first? The ball on the pin, or the ball inside the end of the ram? Ball ends are great for connections that need to articulate in all planes. If you look at the ends on hydraulic rams on most excavators, they have a very large solid bushing with ground grooves for grease. There will be tonnes of force been transferred through this pivot connection. Keeping grease up to it will be endless.
very damn cool project. working with heavy machinery myself id recommend putting some grooves in the pins so they hold grease. makes it much easier to stay greased and to get grease in
I can see that you're very gifted at what you do. A great skill set. Your skills are critical for a good economy. A bit too complicated for me to build from scratch so just went out and bought a couple lol. Even though I build for a living and am multi skilled, I am very impressed with your skill set. Thanks and Cheers.
Congratulations on your work, I met your channel today and I'm already subscribed. I am an Earthmoving Machine Operator and Mechanical Technician by training. I really want to build my backhoe, I already have many details of the projects, but I don't have enough money and some tools to get started. I will follow the whole series. I believe it is ready, but I will find out as soon as I see all the videos. Good work there. Brasil / RS / Bagé. December,24,2020
sir... i think its time for you to start your own brand and compete with the big ones like caterpillars or jcbs... this was a magnificent journey of construction... great job sir.admire your hard work!💪🏼💪🏼
Always wanted to build my own digger you've made me realize it's a ton of work-me cutting all that heavy plate 10mm plus with a angle grinder it would take ages great job looks tidy as
Might pay to weld your loose bush's in to side frames. If they are a slip fit and higher grade steel then the body they will flog out the holes and you will need to replace bushes at some stage and probably line bore your side plates. Really need crush on those bush's in side plates. Also use shoulder bolts on pin retainers. As soon as wear sets in you will shear the bolts or they will get loose. I like that you have had a crack though very nice development if parts and execution on assembly.
For practicality's sake, it probably would have served you better if you made it rear-steer like a forklift. It's much better for accuracy, and given that most of the stress is gonna be placed on the front axle, it would make sense for it to be a solid non-steerer. It would likely be more stable as well. The only thing that rear-steer wheeled equipment isn't better at is driving fast, and I don't think you're gonna be doing much of that lol.
the best project I have seen until date..!!!..it's marvellous..!!...even I am working on the same project..!! Can you please provide with all the boom arm and bucket and stick measurements. Please.!!??
can you do like a simple trench cutter with big wheels for a swampy area that goes straight, but throws all of the soil on its 2 sides to spread it out more evenly?
2:00 minutes in already started to lose interest. Die Grinder to create clearance for the Bushing ?? The Shaft going through the Bushing was a tighter fit than the Bush it was supporting ????
Thanks, Regarding backhoe. I guess it depends on where you live. Backhoe loader search in Wikipedia: "In Britain and Ireland they are commonly referred to simply as JCBs; they are popularly called "JCB" in India. In the United States, they are often referred to as "backhoes", although the term 'backhoe' only refers to one component. In Russia they are referred as excavator-loaders"
@@AlfaSeven brings up another mistake in language or grammar. many people refer to a particular item by a popular brand name instead of by the actual device or item name. Not all machines of a particular type are jcb's because that's a brand name. That happens a lot in construction, and that gets frustrating to me. I prefer to use the correct names on things. Over here they call all skip loaders fergie's such as Massey Ferguson's, and they tend to call all metal storage containers a conex which is another brand name, they refer to all skid steers as bobcats, and all high lifts as JLGs or Grade-alls regardless of the actual brand of the machine. And the list goes on and on. most of the time when somebody asked me for a key to a certain machine they're asking for the wrong key. And this poor choice of words goes beyond construction. They call all facial tissues kleenex, all motorhomes are called winnebagos, all four wheel drives are called Jeeps, and that list goes on and on. It's maddening, maddening! 😁

I miss the inside way for grease, but it is just my think.
Very good 👍
hello cool tractor good project, I'm with you 👍 ✅ 📝 🚜
I like these home engineers. You could trust their product are built to a quality that lasts more than the Chinese junk in comparison.

yes, I noticed. It is a bit heavy to push in grease but it works. Groves next time 👍🙂

Man where did I go wrong, Working on Aircraft nothing like this Love this....
Great quality love it. Ps first time i see a dremel in use building a real excavator 😉
those two links between the boom and dipper cylinder pins are pretty ingenious.
Im trying to figure out what they are for..

What were you doing at 6:30? Heating the arm?
Is that the same yanmar they use for APUs on semis? Sounds the exact same

are not to heavy that arm?
Hi guys I was asking which software do you use to design such things, I mean to like design a drawing of the machine you want to build
Hi,
Most 3d cad system will do the job. Rhino 3d is simple and very good.
how come you dont need some way of axially retaining all those shafts that the bushings ride on
6:28 shaft fastening
Videonya terlalu rinci itu jadi lama nontonya....tolong dong dipercepat atau bgemana biar gk kepanjangan

As an initial comment on video editing, so far I love it, but the scrolling text is distracting. It can work without any text at all.
At 2:40 I absolutely love the suspense of seeing what you're making.
The pin tapping around 3:00 does feel like it's dragging on a tiny bit
At 4:11 it feels like you jumped ahead a whole lot
The motion video from one spot to another at 6:20 is great!
The CAD inclusion is epic at 7:02
Nice job but those are not called excavators in the United States.
Not without the 360° turret. That's more like a homemade backhoe.
Thanks,
