Wow, what a thorough review! I was blown away. Love the statistics and your diligent work on preparing this review. It helped me a lot, also very entertaining. I’ve been looking at all the UA-cam vids I can find on both sleeping gods and sleeping gods distant skies since I’m trying to decide which to buy and now I’ve made up my mind I’ll be getting this one. Looking forward to all the adventure and exploration this’ll bring to the table. Keep up the great work!
really appreciate the kind words! I think for the combat alone I would pick this one and in fact traded my original copy away...I do think some say the story is spectacular in the first which I can't speak to.
Great review, I think everyone starts like that, even in sleeping gods, exploring in every opportunity, trying to explore every piece of a map before moving to the next page, and ends up with a lot of uncompleted quests, at sleeping gods you end up dead lol. But in the second play you notice it is better to get an adventure, and go to the end of that one first, before exploring every other place
Now I have a major itch to get Sleeping Gods out and play it again. I really enjoyed the game. Taking notes is very important to remember what you need to do. Aimless wandering can be exciting but tracking down exactly what you want adds so much to the game. Is Distant Skies a huge table hog too? I'd love to see that boss battle formst in SG.
Do you have any interest in distant skies or think one is enough? I think table space is about the same on the two. There is no ship board and the plan board is smaller.
@@Neon_Gorilla For me I think one is enough. If I would pick up Distant Skies I would get rid of Sleeping Gods. There is still plenty of game in SG, but DS is going to be a bit more polished. I dont have any intention getting rid of SG at this moment. I have plenty of other games that I want to play lol.

Really enjoyed hearing this: I intend to start playing this next month, pleased to hear your impressions.
appreciate the kind words...I need to get back to my second campaign, I still think about it so that is a good sign.

Can't decide if I should get this, Freelancers, or Deliverance for my only co-op campaign game! They all look so fun!
I personally had way more fun with sleeping gods scope is significantly larger with more to do over freelancers, I can't speak to deliverance though.
So many games - so little time!
You are telling me.
So would you recommend trying to vet out more quest cards to get the full impact of the story on your first play through?
@@travisnaganuma2542 you could either draw it out and just play a longer campaign or know you want to play multiple exploring multiple paths.
So, will you get Sleeping Gods now?
I actually just traded the original away. I do have primeval peril that I need to get to the table.
@@Neon_Gorilla why did you trade it? Did you play it?
