Today’s flight is from Stavanger (Norway) to Varge (Denmark). It follows the rocky west coast of Norway and then starts the 120km over water crossing to Denmark. Even with the 1/17 gliding ratio of the Virus SW and climbing to FL90, there were a few minutes that we were outside of gliding range. Again the weather was very much in our favor.

Every year a small group of pilots from different countries meet to fly to where the weather is good.
This year we were 11 pilots in 6 planes. The six planes were:
2x Pipistrel Virus SW,
1 Piper PA28 Warrior , and
3x Sling 4, the first three of these beautiful homebuilts in the UK
Hitesh and Torsten are the founders of the group. This year’s participants were Peter, Rajendra, Paul, Trevor, Zaighum, Dean, Graham, Akosh, and Filip. Junior was a passenger until Olso where he took a commercial flight home.
Every day different options are discussed and mulled over as the weather and pilots' desires evolve. At the end Hitesh decides what will be on the program for the next day. Unexpected routes, interesting encounters, beautiful places and good meals are the result.

Unieke tocht, zo'n weer zal je hier niet dikwijls hebben! Bedankt om ons een beetje mee te nemen 😉. Was het steeds een 2-tal uur vliegen op de vliegdagen? Dat is ideaal, zeker met zo'n landschap onder je!

Meestal 2 uur per dag, twee keer 2x2uur (naar Zweden en van Hamar naar Stavanger). Is inderdaad ideaal, en voor mij intussen aan de korte kant, want naar Italië vliegen is 4u straight)
