- This is the first in a series of countdown-clock-fueled reckonings! I thought the timer worked perfectly for keeping me on track, and I still made it through 10+ products. What do you think?

THANK YOU FOR WATCHING AND BEING WONDERFUL!
please dont time restrict yourself. i love your videos and to me its the longer the better.
Love your reckoning as usual...but the timer gave me a touch of anxiety, like we were rushing. And the ending felt a little...abrupt...incomplete? I think I prefer your more leisurely, untimed style. Don't worry about length of video... I could watch you for hours (and I have 😍)
But I totally support your experimenting with new ideas. In my eyes you can do no wrong. Can't wait to see you tango!
What she said!
I agree.
same thoughts myself
Yes, exactly!
Hi friends! I want to assure you that I'm not going to start using a timer for all of my videos or stop making longer videos in general. I just decided to try it as a strategy for getting through the purgatory box with a larger number of shorter videos, rather than fewer longer ones. It's much, much easier for me this way editing-wise, and it's also healthy for the channel to have some shorter videos mixed in (although hilariously, despite my best attempts, this video came out around my average video length after all). Thanks for watching!
Hannah I could listen to you all day and actually prefer your hour long videos. My two favorites on UA-cam are you and Beauty News I think due to the informative nature which really needs to play out in a longer format. I think your subs agree! The more Hannah the better and I’d rather have 2 longer videos a week versus more timed out sessions. You are usually a calming thing I listen to at bedtime but the timer thing added too much angst.
I love your longer videos, there is no need to time restrict yourself! :)
Hello Hannah, hello everybody ! Don't restrict your talk, Hannah, please: we love the way you talk and what you say
Please don't stop making long videos. The longer the better! They are a part of what makes you my absolute fave youtuber.
You being stressed out stressed me out. I love your longer videos. I’ll watch you no matter what, but don’t restrict yourself. I love hearing you wax poetic about makeup. ❤️❤️
If the timer helps you then we can get used to it. However, I love your long videos and rambles and it feels more authentic without the timer, but you have to manage your time and do what works for you and we'll all adapt and it will be fine. Thank you for your videos! I look forward to them so much!
I would love to see not only your performance but more videos from you about tango. Theory, history, techniques, tutorials, and all that jazz :)
Also, that would probably be good for your shop ;)
I love your bonus uploads, they always feel like such a gift! While I love your longer videos just as much as your shorter ones, i couldn’t help but notice how joyful and happy and exuberant you seemed in this video! Maybe with a time ‘budget’ it’s less exhausting! I know sometimes I’ll film til my voice is ragged and I don’t even know what I’m saying anymore and maybe a 20 minute timer is just the thing! I support you doing whatever is best for you because at the end of the day no one would rather see a sad exhausted putting off filming Hannah who makes long videos over a happy inspired exuberant Hannah who makes shorter videos!
Not saying you’re exhausted or sad seeming, I’m just saying as a response to those saying ‘please film long’ that if you are filming times/shorter videos for your own sake I support that :)
It’s always a perfect video.... just do what is natural. No timer needed between friends having a conversation.
Before you declutter the custom shades Sarah sent, I'd LOVE to see a look incorporating them. I think that sherbet green would be amazing paired with that brown/gold color story. I love the contrast of greens with oranges and warm browns...that's part of why greens always look stunning on red heads.
At first I was sad at such a short reckoning. Then you said that simply meant there would be more of them.🎉🎊🎉🎆🌅🎇
I’m totally on board for this.
I love hearing how you use your single shadows. You’re creativity has really gotten me more excited to rub shadow and glitter on my eyelids after feeling pretty apathetic about it for a while. Also, this may be weird, but I’ve been using a version of your sign off line sort of as a mantra in the morning to try to trick my brain into being more confident/productive. I think it helps and I don’t know if I would have thought to do it if I didn’t hear you say it over and over again.
i don't mind a long one from you but i'm also for this shorter video idea, because i think you might be able to make better use of your time this way and not feel like recording exhausts you (like how the one you filmed on your birthday did), though i think you don't have to be on time to the minute. the ending of this video was a little bit rushed and i would've loved to hear you talk some more about those single shadows + some swatches. next time the timer goes off while you're talking about a product, please feel free to finish everything you have to say about it!
You know I love your long videos, but honestly I understand the timer.my short foray in editing videos made me realize how time consuming it is. So you do whatever you have to do to be most effective while you’re doing your work in the world. 😁.
Also I wanted to mention that a Clarisonic is a great gift for a friend. Even a slightly used one. Buying mine changed my skincare game for sure.
I'm gonna CHIME IN with what others are saying and agree that I love your long videos, but also add that I think the timer worked very well! I didn't feel like any products got the short shrift even though you didn't get to talk through every single shadow in the last palette. I get the sense that the more that you work with the timer the better you'll be able to pace yourself and the less it will feel stressful to confine the video to 25 minutes. Or maybI e even try 30! Whatever works. I definitely get how not restricting the time could make the act of reckoning with the purgatory box more overwhelming, so I really think anything that helps you get through the box is great.
thanks Nina! xoxo!
I love seeing a surprise video from you! Carry on with the timer if you enjoy it, more videos is a lovely treat for us.
I clearly don't stand alone in telling you that I like your chattiness and I enjoy long videos from you. Maybe an idea for your next round of reckoning, to allow you more time to mull things over and have more videos on hand, would be to break things down in to smaller boxes so you're not rushed but you can still make multiple videos out of the process.
Anyway, you're a joy as usual. Take care Hannah and have a great weekend.
Another idea is to aim for a target number of items, perhaps 10? I think you got close to that in this video.
Lovely video Hannah! It's interesting but you're one of the few UA-camrs I can watch doing these sort of things and I don't feel like you're enticing me toward buying. I guess it's something about the language that you use in your videos. I am pretty good on setting goals and meeting them but it's always much harder when I see people showing me things I'd love and using the language that almost pushes me toward buying said thing. I remember you talking about this in one of your older videos and I just wanted to point out how obvious it is that you are either careful with your language or have simply adopted a form of review that even when positive doesn't waken that need to buy something within me.
In other news! I got my new sunscreen in the mail today! I was actually happy to just buy it and let go of the stress that came with choosing a sunscreen. I've got it on my face today and so far there has been no stinging and it absorbed beautifully into my skin leaving no white film behind. I am so glad I didn't simply decide to go on using the Alba Botanica one which was clearly hurting my eyes. So, as it stands, I guess I won't be going blind over this no-buy and I am very glad for it.
Hey hannah, do what makes you happy and I'll come watch it. Long or short, rushed or leisurely.
The longer the better!
as a uruguayan, i'm so glad to see people like you keeping tango (especially improvised, social tango) alive! i'd love to see that footage of you dancing
No, no, noooo! Don't time yourself! Unless you do not have time to film, timing yourself just makes you nervous and derails your thought process. I don't mind a super long video, in fact, I love your long videos. 💜💜💜
Oh no, this time limitation is really unnecessary! I bet that not only me could listen to your ramblings for a really long time and not to be bored at all 😍
I'm so glad you show us again how you do the tango 🔥
Great video, I'm looking forward to the next one already! I like your longer videos, too. You're somebody who's easy to listen to because you have a very soothing voice and you come across as a totally lovely person. PS: I meant to say that I've seen a few of your Argentine tango videos and really enjoyed them.
One of these years I may get a ND palette but it's not practical for me at this moment... But I still love watching anyone and everyone talk about them haha
I LOVE the challenge of the timer! It’s hilarious 😂. I love your lengthy, leisurely, lusciously loquacious videos too - have fun with your filming - I’m in for it all.
I love how long your videos are. I watch them on my drive to school every day
The timer method actually made me really anxious.
I do have a brow gel recommendation for you. The Mac Mixing Medium in Lash has an epic, strong hold. Since it is in a squeeze tube, you do need a spoolie (Mac disposable ones work well for me) or I have used it to refill brown gel products/tubes that I like the spoolie on. The tube is huge and lasts forever.
I think this plan for short reckoning videos is a great idea! I love your long format videos obvs, but personally I'm excited for more videos! I think this one was plenty robust, I would have liked to see swatches of those singles but that's ok. 💖
I went over to your tango channel, and watched them. Your dance was so smooth, and you're really good at it :) Thank you for sharing! Look forward to seeing the new tango video!
So far I really like this format a lot! I’m excited to see more reckonings!
Ditch the timer Hannah. One of the most beautiful things about your channel is how you eloquently describe your experience using something and your rationale for keeping it in your life or re-homing it. Please do not get hemmed in by time!!!
Anyone who thinks your videos are too long can watch it in sections. I've done that before when I didn't have time and it was no problem. This video felt a bit rushed (definitely at the end).
My curiosity led me to search for your old tango footage a few months back, and I enjoyed it so much! I worked with a watchmaker from Argentina for many years and his background music of choice was Carlos Gardel. Beautiful!!! Can't wait to see the new footage.
Knowing the timer was running stressed me out! 😂 I prefer your more "organic" videos that aren't structured by a timer. But whatever works best for you we will adapt to. 💕
Hannah, your smile just lights up my little corner of the world :) Enjoyed the video, as always!!
I love getting ready in the morning to your videos. They are refreshingly accurate!
Hi Hannah, I agree with the others...I like your longer videos. I am very happy that you finally tried a Lise Waiter product. I love it! I know that you like a green corrector and Lise Waiter makes a green primer that is brightening...I hope that you get a chance to use it and review it as I would love to hear what you think of it
I *only* watch youtube videos while cooking, cleaning or doing my makeup/skincare so I prefer the longer videos.
It is nice to put a video on and listen to something you enjoy while doing tedious tasks, like folding laundry. I tend to put them on when I clean my makeup brushes, which I dont find tedious actually, just a longer task. I used to play videos when I gave myself more time to do my makeup in the morning - I kind of miss it.
Please review the Lila palette. I have been eyeing it for some time, but the price has put me off so far. It’s over half my monthly budget. You would really do me a great service with a proper in-depth review and some good swatches. ❤️
I see the more frequent shorter reckoning videos as a short term solution for the current buildup of products in the purgatory box so you should do whatever makes sense for you and we'll enjoy it whatever you decide. I do think doing a weekly reckoning until you reach your comfort level with purgatory items is a great idea (even greater if they could be bonus videos -- hint, hint). Perhaps instead of a timer you could decide on a specific number of products or a specific category of products to do in each reckoning. But, again, whatever you decide works for me.
Hannah I think it’s amazing that you are so on point with managing you’re time. It was ok at the end I felt like a bit of anxiety like no there was so much more to go through. I’ll watch however you post I don’t mind longer videos. I really enjoy the reckoning of you’re makeup. I have taken you’re idea and molded it about to meet my space but I have a drawer I put all new makeup and beauty items until I use it and decide if it’s an item I’ll enjoy using often or if I should pass it on. This has shown me that I buy way to much I could never use all the products I have before they go bad. I now think about the money I could have saved and used for other things. So I may be finishing this year with a low budget or a no buy. I just want to use all the beautiful things I already own. Thanks again Hanna you inspire me so much. I just bought myself the Lila pallet for my Birthday and I love it so much however I feel like I’m missing some neutral browns and light creams for the crease and brow bone. Her formula though is hands down 🙌 my favorite. So easy to blend out. I can’t wait to see a look or two you create with it. You should do a dedicated video to her Lila pallet if that’s something you want to do I know I’d enjoy it. Thanks Hannah you’re amazing as always. Have a beautiful day💕💕
Who else just paused and watched a bunch of Hannah's tango videos...
I will watch as many videos as you put out, but I did find myself wanting more when your timer went off ;) ai love your long, rambling videos❤️
I don’t like the timer system. I love, looove your long videos of 30+ minutes. Gives me so much joy when I see a new one on my feed, so much that after I watched ALL of your videos posted on this channel, I went back and watched them aaaaall again! Some videos I’ve watched now 3, 4 times. I really enjoy following along on your thought process as you speak throughly about each one and setting a timer will not only make the video shorter but it will also, conscious or unconsciously make you rush through it. 😕
I'm glad I'm not the only one who rewatches Hannah's videos!
Okay I'm so looking forward to seeing you tango!
With experimentation comes information and growth. I think you can take what you learned from this experiment/experience and apply it to your reckoning videos and make them more informed. I love your videos even if they are a bit long and I think the general consensus from the rest of your comments is the same.
I looove the Ciate dewy stix. I also don't mind the tackiness, you're right, it doesn't really dry down but it's not completely sticky either. Not for everyone but I love it
Knowing you had a good amount of items to reckon, I was initially disappointed when I saw the video length 🤣
But I’m always down for a series of reckonings and bonus videos! Woohoo!
Omg , it was meeeeee. I recommended the Australis brow gel and am absolutely giddy that you were able to try it and like it!
I like the idea of more videos a week, even if they are slightly shorter than your hour hour long videos (which I love dearly). Having multiple ~30 minute videos might be easier for you to edit and get posted! Maybe you could try setting an alarm-- and then you get through as many products as you get through, being your lovely, elegantly loquacious self. The timer made it feel somewhat rushed with the time updates. Having an end point can give you a reminder to finish up explaining your current thoughts but give you a stopping point so you can start filming a second video if you'd like :)
Oh my goodness...I wasn't able to finish my obligatory bottle of pinot noir with this length of video! Please remedy, my taste buds are in fit now!
I’m here from Samantha March’s channel, and am glad that I stopped by. I’ve already subscribed/notification bell on;)
The Ciate London Dewey Stick sounds fabulous. I have similar ones from elf that are actually really nice.
I’m also interested in the brow product. I’ve never tried the soap brow, but always wanted to. So yes, I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Thanks so much, chickadee🍃🌸.
I love Baby Lights, it's definitely an interesting gold!
Honestly, i really liked this format with the timer, you seemed more focused. Aaaand it was exciting. 😊
OMG, now I'm hot for the Lila palette ... whereas I hadn't given it a single thought prior to now. Strange how these mind leaps work!
Your reckonings are some of my fave videos of yours!!!
Yay! We are going to get tango footage! 🤗🎉 The single shadows are really beautiful! What an amazing gift! 💖💖
I love listenning to you, do not restrict yourself by a timer :) I was stressed for you :D
i was running late and getting ready this morning while listening to your video. i caught myself rushing as soon as i heard you rushing. 😆
The Mia I received as a birthday gift came with a Clarisonic gel cleanser and I'm pretty sure that product is what caused my skin to break out in little bumps. Because when I stopped using that cleanser and went back to my own with the Mia, it completely went away. I'm not hesitant to try any of their cleansing products.
Ooh, I'm Australian so I'm so excited to hear about the Australis brow gel! I've never tried it but I sure will be now. Also, I'm another who loves your long videos. But if you do want to keep them short, maybe you could pick a certain number of products to talk about (e.g.15)?
I looooove a sheer red lip. Even with chartreuse on the eye
Hi, I'm the Sarah who sent the shadows, I'm surprised you kept so many! Just wanted to say, the MUFE green I ummed and ahhed about sending, along with Pixie Dust, because they're a bit cooler than I'd generally choose to use on you.
Your eye look is so striking! Thank you, as always, for all the product information and links in the description box! A wealth of info! :D
I really like the experimental format, but if I could make one request, I think it would be less stressful to get towards the end of the video if your alarm was a softer sound, maybe a gong, kind of like an end to a meditation 😁 I use the (free) app InsightTimer to meditate, and you can set a timer, beginning and ending sound (basically different relaxing instruments), and even say for example that you would like 20 seconds to prepare mentally before starting. Maybe approaching the 20-ish minute cutoff this way could encourage a calmer atmosphere for you too, both during the filming process and after the time runs out. That way it would allow us to collectively take a breath after the "alarm" and end the video in a less hectic way, with some last thoughts and a calm outtro 🙈 Just an idea!
You held that MUF shadow up against your face and it looked really dope, high contrast!
Maybe it would make a good base? It looks matte, it might be more enjoyable with a shimmer layer all over it.
Well, I haven’t finished this video because I just went down the tango rabbit hole - what a pleasure to watch you dance, Hannah. And so interesting to observe the differences in partnerships as well. This has made me so curious about the history and culture of Argentine tango; gotta do some research on that.
The eyeshadow looks amazing. So unique.
Yes, Lise Watier makes amazing palettes. I have her 'x Elle' palette from 2017. I don't reach for it all that often, honestly but I'm keeping it still for a little bit.
Oh man now i want to see this green bratz-doll phenomenon!!
Why did the timer give me anxiety? Lol 💚 love anything you put out!
This might be my favorite series from you. I'm so excited to see more of these over the next few months.
I adore lise watier, she is from Quebec, her mascaras and eyeliners are great and the history behind her company is of women empowerment. I also like that you can find it at the drugstore (here in Canada), her foundation is so nice too.
I had the same issue with soap brows not being travel friendly until I realized I could just cut a small square of soap off and put it in a tiny container (the tiny lunch box containers made to hold sauces sauces are good, but otherwise a small metal tin is also perfect, like the mini altoid ones) 😂 it seems silly/weirdly obvious but I love that I don't even have to count it as a liquid when flying!!
YAS! So excited, I've been waiting for this video! Some of my favorites that you do :D I agree about the Lila palette, it is so much more beautiful when using it then when you just see it in the pan! Also, pretty proud of how you pronounced Lise Watier (it's a french Canadian brand) :p and I actually enjoy your longer videos, but I will always appreciate what ever plan of filming you do :)
I love your reckonings!
I'll joint everyone else and ask that you please not time-restrict yourself. I love your longer videos !
Would love to see a soap brow tutorial! 😘
Thank you so much for sharing your journey through stuff and budgeting! I'm currently doing a no-buy, and it's always so inspirational to watch your videos. So thank you for sharing!
Random but i love your nails hehe it matches your eye look, which is fabulous as always! 🥰
The little beauty travel section in walmart would probably have tiny bar soaps that would be easier to travel with!
I hope it isn’t too out there to hope a makeup playtime featuring a magical dragon look might be in a future video? It’s always lovely to see another of your videos.
More reckonings ... I love your looooong ass videos ! 😂❤️
I think it is interesting that you said your eyes destroy a matte look. I dont think my eyes are watery, but since I've gotten in to using eyeshadow, I no longer feel any desire to use eyeliner. I just line my eyes with shadow. I absolutely love lining my eyes with a dark shimmer and it doesn't break down in my waterline like liners have on me in the past.
Your eye look! 🤩
I love your eyeshadow look here! I’m like the others where I am ok if you have a longer video but I get that your time is limited too.
Hey Hannah! Maybe if you're not sure about the time limit, instead you could do say 5 products a video, no matter how long they take to reckon with?
oo major unicorn vibes on the eyes !!!
I love this kind of video’s,and it seemed a very shortone, but in real life is a video, from 25-30 minutes perfect to watch, and I would love to see Some bonusvideo’s,because these video’s are shorter,so for us as a subscriber it’s a win win situation,a little shorter video’s,but Some more bonus video’s,it looks fantastic to me,xoxo wendy❤️
Great eye look! I think the dark top really highlights your face and hands and is very flattering to your look in this video. What works well within the rectangle of a UA-cam video is not necessarily the whole of life, but it can add weight to the content. Geometric shapes, contrast and bold designs, as well as metallics, strengthen your look, whereas they overwhelm some people. In reinforcing your look, you underline the content. Black and other solid, dark colours also serve to illuminate your skin - you look really alabaster, not 'pale'. It's like the difference between dynamic and floaty; both ref to movement, but your movement is more the former. I don't know if you have ever watched any of Lisa Eldridge's videos, but she wears very floaty, traditionally 'feminine' tops, but she has a completely different energy about her and it adds to her content. Moreover, she only every really has her face and hands in view. I don't know if that makes sense: a video screen is like a 2d design! Your new filming environment always looks great though and is interesting without being distracting.
I feel like a weirdo watching her because I like her hands. I enjoyed her old filming space but I am quite enjoying this new space too.
@@MoonlitSunflowerI guess it follows that someone who loves dancing would be expressive with her hands.
On a side note, I enjoy long videos very much.
I both thought this was a perfectly robust video AND love longer videos. But maybe this is a good test to see what people watch more of, since you can compare it to your long form reckonings.
Lol. Those are the exact feelings i have about the lila palette.
I can't wait to see you tango! 😄 Also I can't stop staring at your eyelids. Beautiful 😍
I like the timed videos.
Can you make a video duping the vibes of the lila palette for those of us who don't want to or can't afford to fork over that kinda cash? Pretty please? :D
I love this idea. I have no interest in this palette but I loved her video duping the vibes of the Gold palette. I didn't want that palette either but I now have a Z palette arranged in inspiration of her walk through on his she would dupe the vibes.
As much as I didn’t mind an added surprise challenge to the video. I also (along with many others in the comments) don’t mind your longer videos. Although, I wouldn’t mind somehow coming up with some other surprise challenges to include in videos....
