Well... Kind of, but check out Kyuss for some real stoner music. Kind of a bassy Sabbath vibe (the more rocky/psychedelic side of Sabbath rather than the metal side). They're actually Queens of the Stone Age before they were QOTSA, but with an extra member who does the singing instead of Josh Holme. But the vibe is totally different. Welcome to Sky Valley was probably their best album. I'd recommend starting with Gardenia or White Water. Some people are big fans of Demon Cleaner, but I've always found it a bit dull. 50 Million Year Trip is also a notable song, but you gotta let that play all the way through cos the first 50% of the song is just filler for the last 50%, but also don't skip the first half. You gotta get through the first half for the real payoff on the second half. Stoner Rock (more softly known as Dessert Rock) started with Sabbath, really, but Kyuss and another band called Sleep are where real stoner rock started. Kyuss are a more psychedelic, cool rock sound, whereas Sleep are the more doom/sludge side of stoner rock. Then stoner rock branches off in 2 very distinct but sometimes overlapping paths from there.
@@christophermccutcheon2143 Demon Cleaner has a chill vibe, and the tribal-esque drums really lend the power to the song, and it turn make it such a fan favorite. Tool did a decent cover of the song, but despite Danny's awesome prowess on the drums, he can't get the feel of the tribal drumsound going.
Stoner music doesn’t have to be Stoner Rock, I’m thinking of DJ Shadow’s Endtroducing, early Orb, ‘in a silent way’ Miles Davis and Weather Report’s Mysterious Traveller
I always found it very interesting how the imagery around stone is very similar between Animals and The Wall. In Dogs it represents failing to carry the weight of every terrible and selfish thing you’ve done to people around you because you have nobody left to help you carry it- “have a good drown, as you go down all alone,” and reappears throughout Animals whenever someone is about to get their comeuppance, and in Hey You Pink is begging for somebody to “help (him) to carry the stone,” after fully separating himself from the world in Goodbye Cruel World and just before the worms eat into his brain and his descent into a fascist dictator becomes inevitable. Just like in Another Brick Pt 3 when he says “I have seen the writing on the wall,” Hey You is Pink realizing what he’ll become if he stays separated and that the stone will drag him down, but also that he believes “the wall is too high,” already and there’s nothing left he can do. This is also very interesting if you consider the fact that Pink is Pink Floyd and probably did write animals canonically, and that In The Flesh is about an actual concert in their In The Flesh tour where they debuted Animals and Roger spit into the crowd out of anger, which he possibly considers as being his “stone” moment, especially being in Dogs there’s also literally a lyric that goes “Who was trained not to spit in the fan?”
Yes, I've long considered The Wall to be an expansion of Dogs, lyrically. You also have Roger's obsession with bones: "When I'm a good dog, they sometimes throw me a bone in". (From "Nobody Home")
It must have been hard for Roger Waters to look like that while being in a band with David Gilmour who could've easily been a male model. Nowadays they look about the same.
I like the one that goes like "STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE STONE" I connect at a deep level with those lyrics

It never occurred to me that Roger waters looked like a moai
And he does lol
Actually, the moai look like Roger Wates.
What have you been living under a.... stone?
the more you know
У нас некоторые считают, что это памятники Путину, но лично я тоже считаю, что моаи больше похожи на старину Роджера.
more than 3/4 of the video being animals killed me 😭

That’s exactly what it is. So sit back, relax, listen to a floyd and spark one up.. But not the Wall or you might get trapped inside your own mind.
STONE, Stone, Stone, Stone, tone, tone, tone, one, one, one, ............................ *bark* *bark*
Yeahh i was waiting for that xD
I find it ironic that the Division Bell, the Pink Floyd album that has stone sculptures on it, never says the word “stone”
Maybe because like most hipgnosis art pieces it has nothing to do with the content of the album. Just random visual ideas.
А они разве не металлические?
And doesn’t have roger waters 😂
They are clearly metal. You can see the rivets.
@@KakopygeThere are also stone sculptures. Some releases featured the stone versions on the front cover (e.g. the cassette version)

I sincerely thank you for the acknowledgment. Now let’s go sing about scarecrows, gnomes, stones, and balls accordingly.
this tape echo effect of dogs (which repeat "stone" endlessly and degrade the sound each time) is absolutely awesome.
Wish you were Stone
I like how Roger's songwriting progressed from stones on Animals to bricks in The Wall.
Wow, the film adaptation of Pinkfloydcirclejerk!😊

never thought i would see a meme of roger waters being a moai XD

Hahahah I love how you includes the entire “stone” part from dogs that’s just so funny
You did Roger dirty putting that thumbnail
Pink Floyd is good to listen to when you’re rocked.
Roger Waters looks so British that he almost seems lab-grown.
I've never been this stoned, man.
I’m so happy that someone else noticed this

But that still rocked.
All in all it was all just stones in the wall
Figured it was gonna be 95% Dogs
I would like to have at least one single friend who listen to PF here in Brazil to share these kinds of memes

Roger Stone
There is no Roger Stone. That's just Ellen Degeneres without makeup.
I never thought that you’d lose that stone in your eyes
I appreciate the dedication to form, no allowances made for bricks.
Easy-peasy. Can you make a video with every time they say "you"? that's the real challenge..
I think 'you' is their most used word.
1/2 of the video is "ou...ou... ou... ou... "
my cat would love this
It's quite fitting that The Wall and The Final Cut, Pink Floyd's two most Roger Waters-themed albums, say Stone
Stone in The Final Cut caught me off-guard 😂
