Nice video. I have booked hyundai santro and the dealership is charging 3000rs as handling charges. I checked other dealers and all of them are charging the same. I have sent mails to hyundai customer care and also tweeted to their twitter handle but no response yet. All they say is they will reply in three days and its been over a week now. Seems I have to now argue with the dealership regarding this.

I do agree with you. I had face this issue at Tata Motors. They forced me to pay handling charges and I didn't then finally I just cancelled my booking. I was not knowing that I can take a legal action against them but now I got to know that I can. So whenever next I go there I will saw them this video and if they still don't agree then I may need your help for the further.

Government should take appropriate step on this issue and frame rule as well, so that dealership to be controlled. Dealerships are very rude on this aspect.

I approached a tata dealer for altroz and handling was present in the total price. Which is 6000 extra of ex showroom.
Then i approached ford dealer for ford freestyle. There was no handling charges.
That's why ford closing his operations in India 😂😂😂

I visited yesterday Concorde Motors Hyderabad and they are strictly saying " I don't know about others but we will charge Handling charges" that too in a rude way.
You should have said "I dont know about others but I am not going to pay handling charges' :D

There is already settled law in sales of goods act all the expenses before sale shall be of sellers liability car is not a costumer property before sale , that's is why costomer is not liable for expenses incurred before sale becoz before sale cars is dealer 's property handling charges are against public policy and no deal can be imposed which against law or against public policy or against the Tarde costoms

तो उस पर हम ने टाटा को mail करी है
पर उसके बाद diller /salesman call करता है ki mail क्यों ki आप ने मेरी job risk par कर दे है मुझे job से निकाल देगे

Hyundai India is still charging and they are pretty adamant that it's their policy. When I demanded for a proper written instrument showcasing that 3000 should be charged towards handling, they were unable to provide me with it.
Also there is no mention on company sites for particular city on road price. They should mention this on each product on road price. This will remove all ambiguities while purchasing new car.

Thanks for the info. I was raising this issue with Renault India. The dealer is charging Rs 7291 extra as Handling and Warehousing cost for Kwid Rxt(O). I have sent a mail to Renault India and a copy to motoroctane.

Visited today Nissan Bhopal to see Magnite, where handling charges 7500 is listed. Debated with manager but he was arguing, hence not booked Car...will fight for it, lets see if they care for customers. On road price is almost touching 6 lacs for XE variant having 4.99 L ex showroom price. In short all benefits which company is providing being eaten up by these dealers !
Good info but at the end all hyundai tata dealer charge this amount and companies know all this....and as a consumer we dnt have any option except to pay...not a single hyundai tata delaer waive this charge so no option of gng to another dealer...they all knw this

I want to buy Hyundai Grand I10 NIOS, but the dealer is charging me 3k as handeling charges and 44k + for insurance. He said we can't give u any discount insurance and handeling charges are compulsory without that we can't sell u the car.
So is there any way by which I can threat them or pressurize them to give some discount?

Tell them that you want to purchase insurance on your own. You'll get a B2B policy for a lower price. Usually the dealership only offers a comprehensive cover.
