1:10 pac-man floating is actually supposed to represent pac-man flying over the ghosts (that's why the ghosts stretch when you grab a power pellet)

this could mean that the super pellet isn't making pac-man grow larger, but instead makes him fly closer to the screen?

Maaan I missed you bro. In an age where video game reviewers venture into other comedic ventures and drown in vpn sponsorships it's nice to see someone (esp you) still around making serious yet entertaining reviews that are fun to watch.

I actually remember playing the arcade machine of this game and loved the different approach. I'm really glad they added it to Pac-Man Museum+.

Funny thing is I’m more used to the Japanese rules as opposed to the US rules.
Outside of Namco Museum, I first recall playing Super Pac-Man in person on a bootleg multigame cabinet in a local video game store, baffled by how slow the super speed was (and maybe the ghosts being more difficult?) compared to the home version.
Then I rediscovered Super Pac-Man on a licensed multigame called Pac-Man’s Pixel Bash at a Dave and Buster’s, which played more familiar to me. Finally, I came face to face with an original Midway Super Pac-Man at a local arcade. This confirmed my suspicion that they made the game considerably more difficult for the US by slowing down the speed of the super energizer.
I have since been practicing the US version in emulation to learn how to take the most optimal routes for making the most time of the energizers and getting as many ghosts as possible.
I also want to commend you for this essay. It’s straightforward, to the point, not too flashy or meandering, and still produced with great quality and humor. Plus it explained to me what the purpose of the ghosts freezing was, a mechanic also employed in Pac And Pal, which was a fascinating revelation.

The fruit sound in this game is actually reused in the PMW games as the Pac-dot sound

    I... liked the intermission music.

i don't dislike it but it's still probably my least favorite intermission music of all the arcade games (except for maybe pac-mania's)

I've found that eating the Power Pellet after the Super Pellet, you will shrink when the power pellet wears off so sometimes your super power will be longer when you use the power pellet although when the power pellet change back is less than the super pellet, you will turn back sooner

the bonus points are based on the maze number. The first maze awards 200 points, the second maze awards 400, then 800 then 1600 points. for matching pairs you will receive 2000 points although if the pair matches the fruit for the round.

When it first came out, Super Pac-Man was a moderate success but not a monster hit like Pac-Man or Ms. Pac-Man before it became forgotten for many years until it came back for the home market with Playstation's original Namco Museum Series in North America. The Japanese version of it did not have Super Pac-Man 🤔 but fans showed the love and it really came back with a punch for companies like Arcade1Up.

I appreciate that they at least *tried* to make a different game for its sequel while keeping some of the familiar elements. I still prefer Ms. and Jr. overall much more as direct sequels, but this is still a good spin-off or spiritual fourth game. (I say that because this is actually the third not counting Pac-Baby, but I don’t think anyone will be mad if I don’t count that, and Jr. is just too good for me to ignore like most people sadly already do) Pac & Pal is okay too, but I like Super more simply because it’s more dynamic and frantic, whereas Pac & Pal is a lot slower and puzzle-like, more so than even Super.

You know, even tho Namco went crazy with Super Pac-Man and Pac and Pal, they at least felt like sequels (unlike Dig Dug II) (please reply)

you do realize, there are patterns for this game, just like any other pac-man.
i've gotten to a million on 3men+2 extras. its actually not that hard.
you seem to think every game is too hard.
you don't seem to be very good at these games, or haven't played them much.
search around youtube and you will find more gameplay, and perfect patterns.
    do your homework first.

Haha that is me for sure. I can't get any farther on original Pac-Man today than I could in 1980. 😂
