Solar powered, all electric commerical boat that is US Coast Guard approved? It is now a reality on the Hudson River in Kingston, NY. Loop is bucket list trip. By the time I get to do it there might be more electric boats capably.

Very interesting. It looks like the Solar Sal people are scoping out getting into the cruiser market, they have a 38' and a 45' (in prototype stage apparently) on their website. Personally, I'd be inclined to go with a hybrid like the Greenline 40 or 45. With a little planning, you can do most of the days cruising on battery, yet still have the diesel if you need to hurry for some reason.

@@ohbuoy4570 Born and raised here, and except for 20 years (Navy) I've lived here all my life. A couple of the big yacht makers are going with hybrids, although I _think_ Sunreef has a fully renewable (solar+wind generators) for their Eco sailing cats.
