Hope they don´t restore it more than necessary. This was an old car even when Elvis drove it with a lot of wear and tear. It would be wrong to his memory to make it look brand new. Elvis drove around in it just because it looked like crap and he would be left alone. Just do the bare necessities like brakes, new windows and fix the engine, maybe a seat for the King also. :-) I think it would be a really cool contrast to all the shiny cars, a reminder of his background and that he never forgot it.
I agree too, I wondered what it looked like the day The King died,,,, maybe redo up to that time because you can see it’s been setting w a cover on it and if the side glass was broke like that ... wow nice piece of under cover history,, go EP👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻quick story: Elvis was at the gates talking to a couple to fans and a car pulled up looking for a business and Elvis told them and they went on,, so in a few min later they came back and thanked him and then they said wow you look a lot like Elvis 🕺 and he said I get that all the time thanks-- and then those people drove off..... true story from a friend of his. Wondered if they ever found out
Whoa daddy, that's a big-ass truck! I think this beautiful man was likely able to take care of a lot of important personal business in this old beauty... likely had lots of good times too. Lots of memories there! Love the man, love the vehicle :-)
I get fed up with the stories that keep changing all the time same as that rubbish story about he bought the Pink Cadillac for his mum when he didn't he had pink Cadillacs for himself and now that's saying that he went to record that's alright mama or my happiness in this truck when in essence he was in the Crown electric truck as far as always been said in the past
Elvis i'm sure drove the truck quite a bit to be unnoticed but not thousands of times as Ray just said. lol.. Also the scrapings on the dash is not Elvis handwriting. Prob a groundsmen who scraped that, I guarantee it was not Elvis. This show went a little overboard with all of that. lol
I wonder how Lisa Marie would have felt if Elivs had picked her up from school in this old panel van ? 😂 I remember one time my step dad had one and my sister , my cousin's , and myself had miss the school bus . So my step dad's cousin had to take us to school . We pull up and everyone is standing out there watching . As we were piling out of that old panel van . My cousin turns his hat sideways and yells out..... IT'S NOT FIR SALE .... IT'S NOT FIR SALE .....!!! HAHAHAHA !!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 I thought my cousin's that were in highschool at the time were going to die of being so embarrassed . 😂 Water was splashing all over the dash were it had gotten rain in it . 😂😂😂😂
The only value it has is that it's a 1950 Chevy Panel. Generations today don't want anything associated with anything their parents thought was cool or some old bloated drug addict singer they've never heard of.
I had always heard of this van, in stories from Elvis buddies, like George Klien. Pretty cool, to finally see it exists...
Todd Vernon , yeah me too . I think I heard Linda Thompson's brother tell a story about it too one time .
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ King of cool

It's funny how the story of this track and this truck all of a sudden has come to light
THE KING

How did it get so fucked up if it was one of only two cars that he kept?
Good Stuff .
2:22 looks like Elvis's face in the chipped paint on the door
it actually does. Ha ha ha
Oh is this guy showing the truck, does he work for Graceland?
The panel truck was actually used as a garbage truck for Graceland
Long live the king
It was just a man like you and me

You didn’t hear them say Crown Electric owned the truck before Vernon bought it? Who really knows how true that is though.
It's a '50 model

He said he passed “thousands of people “ in the truck.
