We have the spotted ones in central CA. I don’t even have any cucurbits, they just eat all of my flowers. Here, even the most pro-organic scientists say the most effective way to get rid of them is using a Carbaryl based treatment. I did spray my broad spectrum certified organics last year, as that’s always my 1st option, but it didn’t resolve the problem. Will be going w/Carbaryl this year as I will be planting my veggies very soon & don’t want these in my garden when I do. So many folks in my area think they’re green ladybugs (they think they’re green cuz they’re male ladybugs), so don’t control their populations which get quickly out of hand & spread to neighboring gardens. I’m into my 2nd spring/summer w/these guys. It’s time to spray again! Thanks for putting the word out about this very destructive pest!
I always find there eggs on the plants and for some reason they love my tomatillos every year too…. So weird. I hand pick them and the eggs off and drop in soapy water. Sadly you have to do it everyday which is not feasible with many gardens
Hi there, I was delaying spraying our field with POUNCE 384EC for cucumber beetle because some plants are still working their way through soil. But today i noticed yellow/black striped Squash Bugs (Cucumber Beetles). They already damaged some plants, you can see them on some plants and some leaves have bunch of holes in them already. My QUESTION... Will a cucurbit plant recover after its leaves were damaged by cucumber beetle? Or is the plant a write off? And will it still yield good fruit? I am not sure if I should pull them out and plant new seed (17th June now, ONTARIO) or should I just leave them and let them try to recover, all plants are now treated with heavy dose of POUNCE 384EC. When I say heave dose I mean they got well covered (soaked) but mixture was kept as per cucurbits recommendation 260ml per 1000L of water. (5ml per 20L of water). But will my damaged plants recover? I haven't seen leaves that were over 50% damaged but some about 30%. Thank you for any light someone can shine on this for me...
I live in Oklahoma ....My cucumbers have wilted at just the top of the plants. What is this from and how do I fix it? Is it a fungus or a bug? Can I cut the top of the plant off or will it die? Also, my green bean seedlings seem "stunted" in their growth. What might the cause of this be? Gardening here in Oklahoma is certainly difficult and frustrating!
Omg these give my garden mosaic every year I hate them I spray neem every 7 to 14 days preventive and yet I have them and always have to pull beans from the disease doubt I'll even get beans this year so thanks for the video it's my first time seeing you so I'm gonna keep a eye on you😁
Don’t even bother nothing works I’ll cover with mesh .

Forget the Neem oil and Captain Jack spray they are just salad dressing for the bugs! I started using Sevin Dust to kill them!

I use Bonide garden powder and BT. So far, so good.

What about marigolds?
Is there any solution for mosaic virus on squash/zucchini plants?
Man's educated chemicals. Probably NOT.
