- Our first rescue of the year. Meet Nico New Beginnings.
He's so skinny it hurts. It felt really good to get him out of the cold and wind. It's sad that he was just waiting for someone...anyone....to be kind to him and help him. He's made all of us melt with those eyes that look into your soul. Let us know if you'd like to foster him/spoil him as soon as he's medically cleared! We are really full and will need to find foster homes for dogs before we can rescue more: Strayrescue.org/foster

Donna thank you for being an angel of mercy. He came right up to you as if he knew you'd save his life. Thank you to everyone at the shelter for your hard work in saving lives. Like doctors at a hospital, everyone plays a part. Poor dog was starved and abandoned.

Starvation like this doesn't happen overnight but instead over time. Why couldn't anyone stop to help feed this poor struggling dog? It doesn't take much but basic food, water and shelter, with kindness. All living creatures need at least these basics to survive, animals and humans. Blessings to these rescuers for saving this sweet dog and before he suffered even more.

He has been so abused by humans and still craves love and attention. Some people don't deserve air if they can do this to that sweet fur baby ❤❤❤
It's easy to see that he's lonely and miserable in many ways, and he's asking for help. Thank you, Donna. This baby has met a kind and caring human who's going to change his life. What a gentle being with a sweet face, poor little dog, he'll look and feel better the next time we see him.

I'll never understand how a starving dog can be found in a neighborhood where people live. Surely someone could have fed him until help was found.
100% I don’t get it. We don’t have many strays in my city in 🇨🇦. Most people will act right away here, it’s why we just don’t come across many stray dogs. I don’t understand why in some cities in the states, it’s like this 😢

This is likely a rescue from north Saint Louis city. Many folks don't have money to take proper care of themselves. At least someone cared enough to call Stray Rescue.
