Making A Meteorite Damascus Sword
Вставка

- In this video, I take a piece of the Gibbeon Meteorite and forge it into a Medieval Longsword! It has always been a dream of mine to do a project like this and to use meteorite in one of my swords. Thank you so much for taking the time to come along with me as I make this one-of-a-kind sword. 🧡🙏

Great video man! Loved watching it, didn't expect to hear one of my favorite songs "teenage lullaby"
Glad you enjoyed it! And that’s one of my favorites too! I heard it first from a Kyle Royer Video and then found it on the music service I use for my videos 🙂 God bless - Ian

FREDO!!!!!!!!!!!
but also if another meteorite blade is available for sale that'd be awesome!
@@kingivar702 I am working on a Damascus sword; although this one doesn’t include meteorite unfortunately :(
I can get more meteorite though and that would allow me to make the sword custom for whomever would order it 🤠
What sources did you use to learn engraving? And how to make chisels. Every time I try to get into this my chisels kinda suck
I began trying to learn it on my own; after failing many times I reached out to Ilya Alekseyev who taught me personally and has continued to be my mentor thankfully. I’m a long way away from being any good at it yet but thankfully he has been patient with me and provided priceless help as I’ve been learning it. I would recommend looking into his work as well as Ford Hallams on UA-cam here; Ford has a lot of inlay videos where he explains things well. Ultimately it comes down to being patient and realizing you don’t know much until you’ve done it for a long time, something I’m figuring out thanks to Ilya. It’s something that’s tricky to teach he has told me and that’s why, you have to do it a lot to be good at it as well as have a proficient background in drawing. As far as chisels go, try using some W2 steel and do some research on making the different chisels for Japanese hand engraving! I’m sorry that’s not a super great answer; I hope it helps you in some way and if there’s anything I can help with in the future don’t Hesistate to ask on here or reach out to me via Instagram or Facebook (at Ian Z Forge) I’ll do my best to help! God bless - Ian
@@IanZ_Forgedamn you learned from Ilya? Should I reach out to him?
Yeah I’ve watched some ford hallam videos and as great as they are, the don’t compare to a real teacher telling you if you’re doing it wrong and criticizing technique.
I’ll reach out to you on ig to ask some questions. Thanks man
@@IanZ_Forge I sent you a dm
Why couldn’t you use oil instead of water??il I am new to this just heard that you can Hardin metal with oil.
I actually did use oil! I used a Parks 50 pro grade quench oil 🤠 check that stuff out as I think it’s one of the best to use! God bless! - Ian
what is the name of the white powder?
@@acuy2000 Borax; I use it as a flux here!
@@IanZ_Forge one more question what is its use in forging.. thank bro
your videos are very underrated. but maybe it's the cause of the shitty background music. but that's the only thing sucks. everything is very nice to watch
