Man, this version is so gorgeous. I've seen people say that Big Country is close to the perfect song, but I think Falani is much closer. Just something about how everything fits together and the simplicity. This song just makes me feel... Nostalgic.

If I was a sports coach or manager I would make my team watch this … and other transatlantic sessions ensembles. World class performers all trying to make each other sound even better and produce the ultimate sound. Incredible telepathy and unspoken teamwork going on throughout.. and not an ounce of ego!

That’s a brilliant idea. A team of all stars, just getting into a grove together, playing as a team, nobody shines, the song does. And it turns out unbelievably amazing

Bela Fleck, junto a un numeroso grupo de leyendas de la música celta. Impresionante.

Dontcha just love the way these instruments , these seemingly distantly related instruments, just blend in so beautifully? A tribute to the musicians playing them... Love it , long live Transatlantic Sessions!

Doesn't get any better than this. Wow, what a group of aficionados, Bela, Sam, Aly, & forgive for not remembering the other great musicians. In almost every session on the Trans Atlantic
recordings they seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Of course, Jerry Douglas is the greatest dobro player in the world.

I spotted Andy Irvine on Mandolin and Danny Thompson on bass as well. Both legends in their own right! What an incredible line-up of musicians!!

Love it, one of the best. I love who everyone is so supportive of each other , the duck in and duck out to give each other time to shine , no one dominates , no one steps on each others toes, everyone takes the time to let the music breathe. The whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Something magical is created in every one of these transatlantic sessions

As I have gotten older, I have embraced the idea that being an ensemble member is more gratifying than being a soloist.

I don’t play but I hear & see the skill in playing to serve the song and to help make everyone sound as good as possible.
Virtuosity while never stepping on any other instrument or player. Tough to pull off a requires tremendous listening skills

elizadavies69 This is cut from Transatlantic Sessions #5. The transatlantic sessions are a set of videos mixing world renown bluegrass/country players with renown scottish/irish traditional players and they do various mixes of their songs in a bluegrassy/gaelic trad. style.

We Americans have a lot to thank the Scottish and Irish bringing their musical traditions to the US. I am very proud of my Scottish roots through my paternal grandmother, born and raised in the mountains of North Carolina. They have had a long tradition of passing the music down from generation to generation.
