    Hi guys love the channel loads of tips and tricks but I have 2 questions first is are silo mixes different to self made by hand or mixer mortar? The second is why does the catnip need to be propped?

    • @SteveAndAlexBuild
      @SteveAndAlexBuild  2 роки тому

      Thanks Mathew.
      Not sure what’s in silo exactly but it’s quite different.
      The lintels can flex under load so need to be propped until the mortar has gone off 🧱👍🏽

    Do you know the make of the lintel, are they designed to support 12 course of bricks on top? Question for my extension with a lean to pitched roof

    • @SteveAndAlexBuild
      @SteveAndAlexBuild  3 роки тому

      It’s a catnic but this isn’t a cavity lintel it’s for a solid 9” wall .
      I I expect you will need a cavity version 🧱👍🏽

      @@SteveAndAlexBuild and yes you are right to support the box lintel two things here .... 1 there could be rotation by loading up each leaf incorrectly and 2 I had a long but big ( as per drawing steel RSJ on my job and the brickies built a 9’” wall on top again as per drawing but it deflected about 1” and the 5 course had to come down but once propped all good .
