This was a very informative video. With regards to putter fitting, we wont make as many putts as the tour pros for two very important reason.One, they putt of very consistent greens week in and week out. Two, they putt to cups that are perfectly cut and uncrowned, every hole and every day. I maintain a plus to a low single digit handicap, and I figure that crowned cups improperly cut, left in place for 3 days that have been walked around by 400 sets of feet cost me at least 2 to 4 strokes a round. I remember a couple of years ago, I putted the same 4 foot putt from the same place 10 times and never made a one.So the fact remains, you can have the best fit putter on the planet, and it will certainly help, but if you are putting to crowned cups, don't expect to make many one putts per green. Constantly putting breaking putts that break the opposite way after they near the hole will really screw with your head after a while.
Exactly. I'm +5 but i've done the same thing with the same putt. Broke 3 different ways AT THE CUP. So agravating.
It happens during the course of one day. It's the approx 12" - 14" dia area around the hole absolutely no one steps on, so the blades of grass grow wherever direction they grow at that time. The areas of grass that everyone steps on will lay in the direction of the natural grain of the grass. That's why its preferred to have enough pace for the ball stopping 14" or so past the hole if missed. At this speed the grass near the hole will influence the ball less.
LMAO Johnny cant help but micro adjust to manipulate the results....so glad Edel is picking up on it as he does it.
well we dont have a putter fitter in my area..so i did my own i put a string on straight putt put ball down on line then set up to i seen the straight line an that the length i went with.it works i best putter at club
i put a wrap of lead tape under my grips on my clubs just something i did to make me follow through my shots it works for me
