The first 10 - 15 minutes of this video will, if listened too and understood, will be better than any lesson our randomly trying and buying putter to suit your stroke. Wow!
Thanks Steve, that was very interesting. Was this filmed a while ago? Have you noticed any improvements yet? I also use an arm lock putter, and I also feel like I have good face control with it but poor distance control, particularly on quite long putts. So I'd be fascinated to know how your putting develops with the information you've gotten from this lesson/fitting.
Would appreciate a follow-up report on your on course results of introducing the putting fitting and instructions to your golfing game....I too have the same cover and arm circumstances as you. Very interesting insights. Thx. Tom
Seemed like a great amount of detail. However, would I be wrong if I said that it seemed that he didn’t T fit you for THE putter. He basically said that he couldn’t do that and you needed to work on other things before you ordered?
Had an Edel putter fitting and received the fitted (personalised) Edel putter for my 50th birthday from my wife ...the fitting proces was a real eyeopener for me.....had putters from all the well known putter brands, such as Odyssey and Scotty, but this putter stays in the bag ...so well balanced and great feedback. And also super service from Edel if there is a problem. So why buy an expensive putter straight off the shelf when you can get for the same money a fitted and build for your specs customised and personalised putter...?
Dave, what are your thoughts around the new Tour Stability shaft? It looks like you were stiffening the putter shaft there by putting weight down it. Do you believe in a more stiff shaft?
Fantastic info, Steve. I now have a better understanding of what should work for me. Question: With my putting grip, my forearms naturally line up open to my aim point. How important is it to have forearms in line with your putter path? Thx.
Seemed like more of a putting lesson to me.... im a 1.3 index, be nice to get fit for what you do naturally. Most golfers already make corrections unknowingly when putting to make their putter work so i did not see anything diff. all he did was give you a putter and said change your stroke. Any coach can tell you that in my opinion. i was fit for Edel a number of years ago on a trip to florida and best they could get me was right edge of the cup when aiming . Not exactly impressive. especially when they say you need to change this, this, and this lol. like i said i didnt sighn up for a putting lesson, I was taking the stroke i had (again 1.3 index) to the fitting and was hoping they could easily or (magically) fit fot that. i was very wrong.
So why did Edel fit you for a putter that didn’t suit you 3 years ago? I got for for an Edel and the best part about it was the head cover which I now use on my Piretti
Buzza Golf I’d agree with you there 100%, you’re improvement was one of the reasons I looked into Edel myself. It just seems on the face of it you got an inferior fit the first time but as you say more information is now available. Do all Edel fits go into this detail now do you know?
i am like that but i found many years ago left hand low works the best for my stroke..like me i focus on 15ft an in on best putting stroke..everyone needs a fitting like this but most just go like Dicks sporting goods whatever computer says what you get cause just not got guys understand putting like this
i couldnt put with the 8802 so i been mallet guy my whole life.i just got me new evnroll ER6 im going to putt with this from now on i may change weights tinker around with it was trial an error to get perfect length i found out how a fitting is done put a string on straight putt put ball on line an set up to i see the line that what i went with
Wow!
How technical was that.
Fascinating information that will need several viewings to understand.
Well done Steve.
Thanks
He wouldn’t usually explain in that detail but was helping me learn, really cool session
Steve, that was superb. A bit of me was sat here thinking what would Crossfield say!! 🤣🤣
He’d be worried about the amount of putts I’m gonna hole 😎
@@BuzzaGolf Before or after he got inside your head Buzza ? ....LOL
Amazing fitting session ! thanks for sharing this experience Steve !
Your welcome 🙏
Brilliant. This might have saved my game. I have always struggled with the putter. Now I know why. Thank you.
David is a genius
This is the best putter fitting ive ever seen
Groundbreaking 💯

Been using it in the recent vlogs. Will do a follow up ASAP 👌🏻
Great vid, Buzzman. 🤯 Learned something new today. Thank you!
Thanks 👌🏻

Coming soon
Fascinating Steve
Where should I go get fit for an Edel ? Would club champion have them ?
Really interesting. Is he measuring the forearm to the wrist or knuckles?
Knuckle

T fit you for THE putter. He basically said that he couldn’t do that and you needed to work on other things before you ordered?
He explained a lot there because I use golf biodynamics when I coach. He gave great way to use traditional putter instead of the arm lock

Agree :)

David likes to lighten the head so he can alter shaft weight.
what putter are you using now?
Vid coming out in a couple of days

I like them to square but depends on face/path it creates
Thanks, Steve! And thanks to David Edel for letting you video the session! It defo makes me want to get an Edel fitting.
I live in Florida as well.(The Village's)
Not sure, it should show on their website
Found out. Club champion in Orlando !👍
What are you putting with now a year later?
It’s still in the bag but potential have a new one coming soon, still same spec
Did he make you a more technically sound putter, or just compensate for your deficiencies?
Technically sound by finding where I should be.
It’s a bit like watching Harry Potter getting his wand in Ollivander’s wand shop!

Naturally I was an extremely poor putter, this was a great experience and I’ve seen massive improvements from the info provided

If you looked at my improvement in putting with the last one it is hard to say it wasn’t good. This info is new and wasn’t available previously

Almost like being at the doctors office!!
The doc can’t solve your putting... 😝
Quack !
