I can't believe this video has no comments. This was such an incredible story, and showed that you three shared the most amazing adventure and supported each other through the whole trip. What a great bunch of memories. It was cool o see how much you laughed even when things weren't going your way. I'm planning to do this solo next year and I hope I have as much fun as you guys did. Well done!!!
This video is amazing - looks like you had an incredible trip! I'm planning to do this ride in January/February next year and I would be really grateful if you could share your top tips / anything you'd have done differently, etc.
Make sure you get good panniers, ours were the cheapest one we could find and weren’t waterproof. They were also extremely heavy which meant cycling was even more of a struggle.
Also, it amazes me the long hair guy is able to ride with his hair down. My long hair blows in my face and mouth. I will be taking a trip and biking that area one day...thank you Chris, Luca, and Manny for sharing this.
Beautiful scenery enjoyed by a happy, handsome crew a very uplifting and motivating video a couple of days before i take on the Belgian Waffle Ride in San Marcos, CA USA on Sunday...thank you for sharing the motivation and positive vibes. Namaste. Hope you are all well.
Great video. My girlfriend and I will also cycle the southern part of it and were wondering which book you used? You mentioned it sometimes during the video. Do you have any other recommendations for Navigation during the trip? Are there signs for the route? Thanks in advance.
So we followed the Kenneth brothers books, they’ve made an ‘official route’ following some of the major cycle paths in New Zealand. If you go to their website they also have a downloadable route on there. I downloaded it onto an offline map on my phone and that was the easiest way to navigate!
Hey guys, beautiful experience, I'm thinking of doing it in November. In how many days did you make the North Island and how many kilometers did you cover per day approximately?
Hey, great video! I am thinking about doing this next year and I had a few questions. What time of year did you do this? Did you sign up to the official Brevet? If you did, did you hire trackers? Did you book accommodation and boats in advance? Was the route busy enough that I can make friends along the way? Thanks :))
Hey, we actually left a little late to join the official trip. Usually people leave at the start of February and we decided to leave in March. We didn't hire trackers just because there was three of us and we weren't worried. I would 100% book the boats in advance, they don't always run everyday but for accommodation that is up to you, we didn't just because we didn't know where we would be finishing each day. If you leave with the official trip I'm sure it will be busy enough to make friends along the way.

Great vid guys. How much did you budget?
Didn’t really have a budget just tried to go as cheap as possible! Probably ended up spending about $1000 each on the road
@@chrismartinn9 amazing! Thanks for the response
Hey guys, beautiful experience, I'm thinking of doing it in November. In how many days did you make the North Island and how many kilometers did you cover per day approximately?
Hey, we covered roughly 115km a day! The north island took about 15 days.
Did you save this route in your strava mate? Great job mate!
Yeah saved it in different segments
