I LOVE quirky pieces of historic DJ gear like this. I used to own one of those Pioneer DJM-300 mixers, what a legend.

the level of co-ordination you have is to be envied!
Also button clicking would be from turning the audio on and off when the signal level is not at zero. When you have an "instant" on or off change in signal, it creates a bunch of high frequency content.

In my old numark the transform are opposite: push to close signal. Trickier to use but maybe more friendly for open fader scratches...
My old KL-10 had both. It was indeed fun for open fader style
@@priyonjoni Nice! Unfortunately my dm1000x only had only open option. I remember I didn’t like it so i soldered some lever switches on both sides. Some years ago i found a few used cheap one on ebay and made one of two using all the best parts. The result was a quite brand new ;) Anyway you were lucky to find a flash former, they seem to be very rare. I saw Flash regretting not having one anymore...

I remember that. My DJ partner bought one and it broke after a month so he got a replacement and it too broke. He gave up and got a full refund lol
Maaan I looked around for one to get my hands on. And as always people talking shit on that dj cheat level stuff. Geeeez. I'd love to have one of these. Gear head. Since I'm a musician since child (sax). I understand an instrument and never spoke bad about controllers. I practice both controller n vinyl. So I can play three instruments can u? Is what I usually say to those people. Question for u.......... Did u ever come across the photon Fader? That's a dead end piece too right?
