- Glad this week to have Sister Mandy back with me on our parkrun adventures. This week, we travelled to Stamford Park Parkrun to enjoy their 400th event. A hilly one which was felt in the legs off the back of a hill session Friday evening and some bike work this week to try and up the volume. Anyways, hope you enjoy this one.
Just had a surgery done to fix a deviated septum. I haven’t been able to run for over half a year, because my septum was so off, I’d get a nasty sinus infection almost every time I tried to do so. Watching your videos is keeping me inspired and excited to get back out there once I’m recovered!
Oh I'm sorry to hear that. I truly hope you are back out running soon, I know exactly what it's like. First day of lockdown I fractured my fibula. I took to youtube and relied heavily on it during that time and when I started getting mobile again as recovery I found other youtube parkruns to walk and jog to. Helped me massively and is to sole reason I started doing these videos. Thank you for sharing and being part of the R-Whale family x
Welcome back to Sister Mandy! Love the ball caps 🧢 😉
Thank you, twas nice to have her back and advertising the channel with the new cap 😂 xx
Cheers Craig. Welcome back, Mandy. 🎉🎉
Awesome video of what looks a testing course. Plenty of elevation and a few steps to add to the fun. It does look a really nice park.
Yeah, 10x hill sprints the day before this parkrun is indeed pretty crazy. 🤣😆
I've not ever done hill reps in training but we are all different and it’s about what works for you.
Thanks again. Keep up the great work.
Thanks Colin it was a great place to run and the trail sections weren't so bad I worried for my ankles lol. Think we were a bit lucky with the weather too, clouds started leaking afterwards.
I don't mind hill Sprints as a rule, nice and easy run for the most part with essentially 5 mins work bit it's 5 very hard mins lol.
Thank you for watching as always pal
Good one Craig. Glad Mandy back safe and sound… 😁
Cheers Linda. Yeah nice to have her back although next week I might change my mind hehe x
Well done mate. A great effort on a lumpy course and with less than fresh legs. When you went round the corner onto the roadside path at 7:30/mile i was half expecting you to go over the barrier 🤣 well done mate. And good to see Mandy back and making herself useful with the ET finger.
Hahaha the ET 👉 was hilarious my camera has two versions of a number of pictures one with it and one without 😄
Was a bumpy parkrun but the down and flat sections were a very welcome part, would definately go again.
Cheers for watching pal 👍
That lady in blue who passed you on the first big downhill, did a great job of getting the runners in front to move aside and let you both past. I could do with someone like that to lead me round the course every time 😅
Excellent running on heavy legs mate, after the hill sprints!
The ET finger from sister Mandy's pointing was hilarious 😂
Yeah she was a great addition to the run to be honest, and would be a handy addition to anyone's parkrun or races 🤣
Thank you, been feeling it today but we plod on and keep moving 👊 speaking of which, looking forward to seeing your outing at today's race, proper speedy 🏃♂️🏆
Yeah there's always additional calamity with the addition of Sister Mandy. The ET finger is just one of an endless list of funnies. It's a wonder we actually make it to these events 🤣🤣
Nice run - thought you had those young whippersnappers at the end!
Haha cheers. Yeah I toyed with the idea but thought I'd sit in behind and embrace the draft instead (that and my legs were cooked 😄)
Hi Craig, you did well to do 25:10 when you had to make your way through the pack💪You refreshed my memory of the course, it’s quite a “traily” course. Love the branded hats, very professional😀Glad to see Sister Mandy back in the fold😀
Cheers Andy. Yeah it was lumpy underfoot too which we all know is not my favourite with having glass ankles 🤣 Glad it was just twigs and leaves on the ground, it it was tree roots this would have been a completely different video.
Sister mandy was pleased with her cap (which im loving) but gutted she missed meeting you last week, think she'd have preferred that 😂
@@TheRunningWhale We need to organise a proper meet up and I’ll run with Sister Mandy😀
Sounds like a great plan 👌
Not the Stamford Parkrun I thought it was - 🥴. My bad. A nice lumpy course though
Haha what ya like. Yeah it was very lumpy bit cake at the end made it all the more worth while 🤣
Nice run. Good of you not to sprint past those kids at the end.
Thank you. Yeah they seemed to be enjoying the moment, I was happy hanging back and not floor it, not sure my legs had much more left In them to be fair
