Not only are you an exceptional artist, you're also a good teacher and a great inspiration. I haven't drawn anything in many (30+) years, and I'm now pulling out my charcoal and sketch pad. Thank-you.

Honestly to me, whenever I want to draw.
I don’t just use a reference, but also study the actual drawing itself such as the animal, behaviour and action.
This also helps me identify how sometimes animals can be used in a different light and environment, but how their biology works that makes it interesting for u to draw :)
Even when I watch films, video games and tv shows, I do a mind study and like to analyse it in a deeper level.
Overall, I really like the Lion artwork Daniel!

Very well put. So many artists rely so heavily on projects and photo realism we have lost the creativity in art. I myself use my projector too much at times. I mainly prefer it when doing airbrush t-shirts and Claybord paintings for customers because of the difficulty when having to erase mistakes. I just picked up my sketch pad two days ago to start practicing again. I am trying to regain the skills I had back in the 1970s and 80s.

Thanks! Reminded me I should be drawing every day, not just jumping straight away into my painting or whatever I'm working on. 😊

Brilliant! And I love the camera shots, too.(zooming in and out slowly gives great perspective).

I'm finishing my son and wife's cat for Christmas. Got the eyes great he's a "judge" crabby cat with long black 🙄 hair and his ruff is lighter.
I think I've used up 3 kneadable erasers and most of a 12B pencil. I'm almost finidhed

I am very much still finding it 😂 I’ve got a way I like to paint and apply brush strokes and draw, but now I’m spending time on what I’m painting and why I’m painting it
