So to kill two birds with one stone, they apparently kidnapped him and strapped his brain into the mark 3 prototype, then copied his brain waves for the other units.
Okay, show of hands, how many knew that Raiden from the Metal Gear series was gonna be on this list? And how many of you knew that he was gonna be Number 1 BEFORE watching this countdown?
Has there ever been a cyborg character who actually says something along the lines of: “Yeah I got about 1000 songs downloaded into one augmentation attached to my right ear. It doesn’t even have any purpose other than the music, I like playing epic battle music when I fight.” Just kind of sounds like a missed opportunity for some character.
Yeah, he used the term Jinzõningen for all the "androids" from 8 in OG DB to 16-20 in DBZ and beyond. It literally just means artificial human and in Japan covers both androids and cyborgs. So Oscar, don't blame Toriyama-sensei for this, it's the translators fault. They had already used android for 8 and 19 (and i feel that it's arguable if 20 is a cyborg or an android since he's just the brain of Dr Gero in a robot body) and it was perfectly fine. They just didn't want to create a discrepancy in their terminology by suddenly calling 17&18 cyborgs...
Germans kinda have the same problem just the other way around. 18 and 17 are called C-17 and C-18 the C standing for Cyborrgue...but also all the other are called Cyborque. The only one where it fits is MAYBE Gero but he is just a Brain in an Andorid Bodey so here it dépends if you let that count. Except Number 8 who was reffered to as Monster Number 8 in the Original Dub.
Got an interesting top 10 idea for you: Top 10 playable characters that make you think. The idea is fairly simple, the more thought required to play them, the more likely for them to place high on this list. Bonus points for characters who make the opponents think about facing them, but more priority on the thought required for you to use them. The only rules I have about the list is that you have to be facing off against real people when using them, not AI, and the other is that the roster has enough varied play styles that the character stands out.
10: And we start the list with a very Basic Cyborg Ninja. 9: A Cyborg father to Kula? Awesome. 8: MY MAIN MAN! While not import to him as a Cyborg, he has Connections to Bullet. 7: It always nice to see the... he sounds Russian, but I like him. 6: I enjoy this 2nd verse of this jazzy song. 5: And I think we've hit all but one of the major fighting game Cyborgs. 4: We never asked for this entry but glad to had it. 3: That is one protective dad. 2: All the Borgs in one deadly package 1: Well... If you talk about Clockwerk from the Sly Series i dont think he counts. He is completley Machine. Sly said it himself "How much hate is necesarry to replace your mortal Bodey with the one of a Souless Machine?"
@@neptuneplaneptune3367 yeah, right down to his heart, and his brain, the latter being turned into the Hate Chip. Now,the Clockwerk Heart a bit weird, as it actually beats...
Oscar, I think you forgot one thing about Raiden... Quinton Flynn. His performance carried the whole franchise. To me, I think that Quinton wanted to make him sound like someone lost in a world where everything is falling around him, and he did it on the spot. Honestly, I feel like voice actors like Quinton should get more respect.
I think that as soon as we saw the title list, we all knew who Number 1 would be. Though one I would have loved to see but is not surprised that he didn't make it is Otsuki from "Shin Magemi Tensei If...", and then there is also a good deal of the cast from "Va-11 Hall-a" where almost all of the characters are cyborgs in some capacity.

Awesome list ! But if you're gonna include Big Daddies, I'll make a case for the Adeptus Mechanicus from Warhammer 40K. These guys can't WAIT to be turned into cyborgs !!! Eagerly asking for any justification to get rid of their weak flesh and replace it with stronger, more durable and useful machinery. Hell ! Under their supervision, pretty much any form of advanced machinery in the Imperium is actually people "repurposed" to serve as automated doors !
Major props for mentioning Dr. Nefarious. He is easily my favorite villain of the Ratchet and Clank series!!! So funny!! XD XD XD Also, have you been taking pointers from Josh's videos? I've noticed a few elements in this vid similar to Josh's videos. You've seen his video of Top 10 Blizzard Fails, right? Wow, Raiden really has been through so much. In retrospect, I never hated Raiden. I guess one of the reasons is that I really like his VA.
A "Deal we can't refuse", eh? I'm thinking either mobsters, devils/demons or characters with multiple identities (2 for 1 special). If it's the fiends, I hope you've played a a Disgaea game. Lots of interesting demons in those, including a vampire who made a promise not to drink human blood AND is obsessed with sardines.
Nicely done. And now for my entry. Looks like I made a mistake in my Crime Lord entry. Now it’s 4 list that could have a Sly Cooper entry. No, not Clockwork. Like Dr. Nefarious, he made himself full robot. No, I’m talking about Dr. M. Formerly the brains of the Cooper gang during the previous generation, Dr. M was a technological genius who eventually grew jealous of playing second fiddle. When Sky’s dad was killed, he instantly set to work breaking into the Cooper family vault. His mad science mostly specialized in machines and mutants, but then there’s that plug on his head. Not only can he produce spider legs and propellers to fly, but the plug can be inserted into his mutants to give him full control. So he’s a cyborg who made mutant cyborgs. That’s nuts. There’s not much else to say. His story seems to parallel Bentley’s. Brains of the outfit with advanced tech practically apart of him. (Bentley became wheelchair bound and added robo arms to it.) But I still think he’s interesting.
"A deal you can't refuse" top ten "deceitful deal" plotlines? deals with the devil? Or am I being too on the nose? Is it mobsters/mafiosos? I remember that was a line from a popular mob movie, but I forgot which. I don't watch a lot of mob shows.
#10 If ya didn't wanna include Genji, then why didn'tcha pick someone else like Torbjörn or Doomfist? I'd say McCree or Junkrat but they only have their arms replaced with no particular boosts to their existing skills. Torbjörn has an arm and an eye while Doomfist has his right arm replaced with mechanical prosthetic, which is important part of his backstory and origin story of becoming the pretty much main villain of Overwatch. #9 King of Fighters may not have impressed me as much as most other fighting game series, but I can't deny Maxima seems like an awesome guy. #8 Zangief of BlazBlue, he's ALWAYS a challenging foe in arcade and story modes. But I really like this guy for how he refers not to engage in combat, only when it's the last option. Also, Tager reminds me a lot of Hellboy. #7 Ignore #6 Can't get more jazz than this guy. #5 Didn't even remember Fulgore is a cyborg so this was a REALLY surprising addition to the list. #4 Ignore #3 A VERY pleasent surprise to see Big Daddy in here. But ya were right about not including Nefarious, or Clockwerk by the same logic, on this list. As cool as it woulda been. I woulda included Bryan Fury and Juri Han on the list. Both got some SERIOUS boost when they became cyborgs. And N. Gin.
I'm gonna guess Card Wielders. Hey, Quarter Guy made one, time for Green Scorpion to put his own two cents for it. (That being said, I miss this kinda countdown by QG)
If you'd like an example of a scary mass produced cyborg in media, look no further than Dr Who's Cyvermen. Was almost expecting a mention during the Killer Instinct section.
I knew Raiden would be on here somewhere! Glad to see him in a spot that vindicates him for all the s*** he’s been through over the years! I’m a little surprised that Commander Shepard isn’t on this list. He/she definitely qualifies per the rules set at the beginning of the list: Shep was not only restored after being rendered a blackened, shriveled ruin of a human body but implanted with all kinds of cybernetic goodies during the Lazarus Project, mostly to help regenerate their skeleton and tissues. Is it because he/she doesn’t really look like a cyborg? All those enhancements are hidden inside their body, attached to bones and muscle and organs. We certainly see that the enhancements are present in specific parts of the story, given that Shep can jump higher and further than any regular human and lift heavier stuff at times, and punches straight through a metal sword so it shatters. While it could be argued that that’s just their athleticism or some augment from their combat armor, there is the alignment indicator system. The more of a Renegade you make Shep into, the more their cybernetics start glowing through their face. Eventually, their human eyes get replaced by creepy robotic eyes if you let Red beat Blue. I know it isn’t as blatantly obvious as Adam Jensen, but I still think Shepard is more of a cyborg than Genji is.
A deal you can't resist why am I guessing the next list is card-wielders. Which means my most favorite champion from League of Legends the badass card-slinging anti-hero dark mage hunter for hire Twisted Fate shows up and one of my favorite things about him besides his gameplay is his lore particularly his old lore and how it showed despite his cynical sarcastic nature he has a surprising deep understanding on the concepts of justice, and honor and he boils it down to simply "Why should I fight fair against those who don't?" basically I thought that his willingness to fight the bad guys using their own dirty tactics against them made him even cooler, along with a having a great respect for him lore-wise because of the fact he is viewed throughout most cities in Runeterria especially Piltover as an untrustworthy outlaw vigilante and he accepts it. Also how in the heck did he form an eternal alliance with the 3 maiden manifestations of chance, and probability those being Madame Fate, Lady Luck, and Miss Destiny? Now I'm not that familiar with the new lore but I'm hoping the team at Riot didn't ruin Twisted Fate with retcons that ruin his character.
18:14 Well to be fair, in the words of fellow AI name LQ849 aka Blade Wolf from Metal Gear Rising: & I quote, "as a machine I lack the Brutality that's inherent by humanity." So possibly that's why Fulgore actually has the savage killer instinct we see in the 2013 Killer Instinct
26:33 maybe the body was the original grandmaster who’s close with human Sektor that wanted the entire cyberization to itself and the entire clan, but that’s just a theory. Trying to figure out next countdown: Top 10 deals with the devil? (basically gaining values from an all powerful evil person while losing your most important part of yourself)
He also said you can't refuse, which is part of a quote from the movie The Godfather. So, it could be video game mobsters and I'm betting dollars to donuts that if it is, Giovanni, Don Weaso, and Jimmy Pegorino will be on that list.
I mean the lore isn't to far off for LoL . Viktor is even more so a good guy now. It just played out a bit differently. Necrit has a great channel where he reads and summarizes the lore in LoL. If you have the time and wanna catch up he is a good source
20:08 - It's not a Phantom Menace issue if you have played the original Deus Ex. JC Denton's augments (and his brother Paul's) were to be far less obvious, whereas Adam's are not. The other cyborgs around him, such as the orange soda-loving, over-augmented Gunther Hermann who looked like a Terminator after a bad day, were very obviously augmented, taking Adam's augmentation scheme to the extreme. They make a rather big deal about this in some of the conversations.
Some really nice choices here. I was at first a bit disappointed to see Victor and not Camille, but after telling his Story i can understand why. That and that he is one of the Champs i am pretty good with certainly helps aswell. I do have to say though your comment at the end confuses me, i thought we already had Top 10 Merchants already?
Taiger looks like he is Alucard from Hellsing who was hit by Gammer Rays, turned into the Hulk and than decided to give himself Metallic Arms just for the heck of it.
I understand your reasoning why Nefarious couldn't qualify for the list... but I'm still gonna low-key grumble about it. That being said, I'm just as happy as who was number 1.
Would Clockwerk count as a cyborg? I mean, he replaced every part of his body (except his brain) with machinery because of his hatred for the Cooper Clan!
"This character has a lot of potential, but the story doesn't do anything with it" Is a deppressingly accurate summation of Overwatch.

Green Scorpion: Tager likes to end things quickly and humanely
Meanwhile: *KING OF TAGERRRRRRRRRRR*
16:17 If Death Battle is to be believed, Fulgore was designed to look like a Knight.
16:11 nope, that was intentional.
18:14
Well to be fair, in the words of fellow AI name LQ849 aka Blade Wolf from Metal Gear Rising: & I quote, "as a machine I lack the Brutality that's inherent by humanity." So possibly that's why Fulgore actually has the savage killer instinct we see in the 2013 Killer Instinct
Damn, the second you come out with a list of cyborgs, Apex comes out with a Cyborg character, good timing.
Can you tell us more about this cyborg?
Hey, Oscar, how do you really feel about the LoL lore rewrites?
"A deal you can't refuse..."
Have you done card-wielders?
Given the sinister undertone, demons is likelier topic.
@@nifinland Who knows. It's a vague clue.
top ten video game mobs by any chance?
26:33 maybe the body was the original grandmaster who’s close with human Sektor that wanted the entire cyberization to itself and the entire clan, but that’s just a theory.
Trying to figure out next countdown: Top 10 deals with the devil? (basically gaining values from an all powerful evil person while losing your most important part of yourself)
He also said you can't refuse, which is part of a quote from the movie The Godfather. So, it could be video game mobsters and I'm betting dollars to donuts that if it is, Giovanni, Don Weaso, and Jimmy Pegorino will be on that list.
Except the line is "An offer he can't refuse" no "A deal you can't refuse"
Of course, when dealing with Cyborg, he also turns evil when nearly defeated, so if he brings out the retractable spikes, you better watch out!
Green Scorpion do you think sometime you can do top 10 video game reapers
You can’t break my spirit!
I mean the lore isn't to far off for LoL . Viktor is even more so a good guy now. It just played out a bit differently. Necrit has a great channel where he reads and summarizes the lore in LoL. If you have the time and wanna catch up he is a good source
And I have no idea what that ending hint meant.
The helmet plume on fullgore is an intentional design choice to make him look like a knight

Congratulations Raiden
what an Honour
Honorable Mentions:
*Jax Briggs - Mortal Kombat
*Nathan "Rad" Spencer - Bionic Commando
*The Cyberdemon - Doom
And
*Nina Cortex- Crash Twinsanity
20:08 - It's not a Phantom Menace issue if you have played the original Deus Ex. JC Denton's augments (and his brother Paul's) were to be far less obvious, whereas Adam's are not. The other cyborgs around him, such as the orange soda-loving, over-augmented Gunther Hermann who looked like a Terminator after a bad day, were very obviously augmented, taking Adam's augmentation scheme to the extreme. They make a rather big deal about this in some of the conversations.
I’m guessing that the next list is Video Game Gamblers. Hopefully there’ll be a Final Fantasy entry like Setzer or Cait Sith.
Something tells me it's not that kind of deal...
Taiger looks like he is Alucard from Hellsing who was hit by Gammer Rays, turned into the Hulk and than decided to give himself Metallic Arms just for the heck of it.
I was expecting the Skylanders Drobot, Blast-Zone, Boom Jet, Gorilla Drilla, Rubble Rouser and Chop Chop to be on the list.
I understand your reasoning why Nefarious couldn't qualify for the list... but I'm still gonna low-key grumble about it.
That being said, I'm just as happy as who was number 1.
i always thought android 21 was more of a bio android like Cell
Victor's lore survived basically intact, but he's even *less* villainous now.
15:55 anyone notice the dogs dressed as guile and chin-li
Only one 'Made in a Lab joke', I'm impressed
Fulgor plum is ment to inspire the image of a knight so your dead on.
Would Clockwerk count as a cyborg? I mean, he replaced every part of his body (except his brain) with machinery because of his hatred for the Cooper Clan!
no he's full robot
Make a top 10 best magnetic users in video games please make it!!!!!!! (I'm a huge fan of magnets so this is the reason why i'm asking you this)
I mean... Fulgore is cool and all...
But Riptor is a cyber-dinosaur in the new game, how'd it not make it on the list?
crack theory? triborg is mokap from one of the other mk games :'D
